    That is so cool of you making this video, I was also at Jim and Pam s Laurel Canyon Home, the one he set on fire ! Yep, also was blessed with visiting Marilyn Monroe s home in Brentwood, 5th Helena Drive St . still remember the address, all these things when I lived in L. A. M.Monroe and J. Morrison are the reason I went to live to LA!!
    I have photos of both homes, guess I will share them with all you... Cheers to Jim and Pam!

    True to his own spirit, true to his own destiny. Jim's dad did the right thing going back to his former Greek teacher to cone up with something fitting for his son. Jim's dad didn't seem to have that much respect for Jim as a singer, referring to him as an entertainer and saying Jim's talent was writing his poetry and not singing but I think Jim's voice was perfect for the music of The Doors. RIP Jim and Pam 🌹 you are missed.

    You are incorrect that Jim did not own any real estate. He owned a house on Kings Road in the Hollywood Hills behind the Hyatt House hotel. It was an investment property that Jim never lived in. Jim's bodyguard Tony Funches recalled in an interview that is online that he and Jim went to the house a few times, and that it was virtually empty, save for some boxes of Jim's books and a few floor lamps.

      JIM MORRISON's longtime bodyguard has exploded the myth the rock legend was an irresponsible rebel, revealing for the first time that THE DOORS frontman owned a secret house. For decades it has been believed the hedonistic rocker lived in a tiny hotel room near his record company's offices on La Cienega Avenue in Los Angeles, but his minder TONY FUNCHES reveals Morrison was actually a homeowner. Speaking exclusively to The Doors Collectors Magazine, Funches says, "He owned a place on the Kings Road (in Los Angeles). It was above the (Sunset) Strip, not far from the Continental Riot House (Hyatt Hotel nickname). "Kings Road, at that time, was a winding street... It was and still is a very beautiful street with well-kept homes and manicured lawns and landscaping. "The one time I was there with him, the place was virtually empty, except for the usual bachelor fruit crates, and a lamp here and there." Funches claims Morrison bought the house as "a tax write-off." He adds, "He needed the tax write-off, and Jim was told he could benefit from having the security and comfort of a home instead of the room at the Alta Cienega (hotel)... but he rarely visited the place."

      Is that the road he used to speed down? I was standing on the corner of Kings Road and Sunset Blvd sometime around 1968(?) and a heard tires screeching from way up in the canyon. A young woman standing next to me said that is Jim Morrison. A while later there was Jim in his Blue Mustang stopped to turn right and sped off.

    Always found it a little curious that Jim went away from the Venice and Santa Monica streets and beaches that spawned The Doors' and cultivated their aesthetic and nuances - which Venice Beach is still so closely attached to all of these decades later - and moved shop to Hollywood and the canyon.

      Diane lived with Pam in the same apt. She is now passed away. Jim liked living here and around the corner at the Alta Cieniga hotel. The reason being was that his record company was right around the corner on Santa Monica Blvd and he could walk there for many different reasons. The owner of the apt building was a huge fan and used to rent out the unit to anyone who wanted to stay there. She charged 2-500 a night. She has now sold it recently within a few yrs. there is an article about the fan who bought the building I the LA Times but I forgot which year.

    They are not together. They are not in a better place. They OD'ed on heroin in different countries, 4 years apart. Pam was one of a thousand woman around Jim. She would be held accountable for his death if this happened today. To me, she ended Jim, The Doors, and tarnished Jim's legacy forever. I don't even care where she is buried.

    • @jeffwright4491
      @jeffwright4491 4 года назад +4

      @Linda Linda From what Alain Ronay said (Pam called him immediately to come help after she found Jim unresponsive) she never even told him it was heroin when he found her stash. She lied and told him that it was merely coke as she knew Jim wanted nothing to do with heroin and even went as far as lecturing a young Danny Sugarman on the dangers of it. Also those who knew Jim well said he was allergic to opioids and stayed very clear of those types of substances knowing they were bad news. Jim was Pam's meal ticket and she feared he would kick her to the curb if he found her using. Like his bodyguard and friend Tony Funches said Jim pretty much knew she was using but as long as he never saw her use or found her supply he kept quiet on the subject as he spent more time at the hotel than with her anyway near the end. She was a user and no doubt contributed to Jim's death. I still maintain Mary Werbelow was his true soul mate and if she had taken him back instead of moving to India (away, away, away in India....sound familiar?) Jim more than likely would have lived longer. He even told Mary the first 3 albums were all about her. Her problem was Jim's drinking and sadly even Mary couldn't keep him from the bottle. Sorry so long but hope some of this helps.

      @@mintleaf4651 Good question, and many more could be added to it. I never understood why people pretend to know so much about Jim Morrison's emotional life. The hardcore fans really dive into his life, and read a lot about him, and then draw their own conclusions, and they then present these conclusions as if they were facts, but all they are are guesses based on limited knowledge and fragments, as they never even met the man.
      "I still maintain Mary Werbelow was his true soul mate" from is a good example from the comment above. It's just guesswork, and says much more about the fan than it does about Jim Morrison. I mean, I understand the urge to know more about this fascinating person, but i rubs my fur the wrong way, when people speak like the knew the guy.

    Jim's dad had no contact with his son Jim his entire adult life. That is sickening. He was a distant father. Jim needed guidance. The girlfriend, Sinister Pamela, was a serious drug user and she spent Jim's money and she never worked. She was a sickening user.

      We have to remember Pam was like 19 and he 22 when they got together. They were just kids. Yes he did support and take care of her. If what we read is true, she seems to have used heroin. If she would have gone to rehab or Jim to AA, maybe it would have turned out better? I wish they never went to Paris. If he'd have been in the US were his friends where, maybe it would have ended differently.

      The last thing he needed was someone like Pam. He needed above all, someone sober around him. She was impaired herself and thus a danger to Jim. What was Jim to do? Hard time? Or not, perhaps in the end a court might have let him off. Most of all, Jim likely needed a 'father' figure if not his own father. He met a clergyman, here on UT, and Jim is very interested, and this guy could have been what Jim needed so very badly.
