I still own my family's 1989 Regal. I want to restore the car and keep it running for generations to come. Finding parts are sometimes hard if you don't know the right resources. But the car only has 52,000 original miles and I know a resto place that restores 1989 cars. So when the time comes and money is saved I am hoping they restore mine for me. By than the car will be 30 some years old and it will be an official classic car.

did u know the automatic seatbelts can also be used in manual mode.

    • @Sparky-ww5re

Pretty much everyone used them in manual mode. When I was in 3rd grade in 1997 or '98 my Uncle purchased 1990 Cadillac Brougham, had those door mount seat belt. As a kid I always wondered why that was the only car I've seen with belts on the front doors, as well as the location of the gas cap, where you had to flip the license plate down to put gas in the car. My uncle never even understood the reason for the door mount belts,
For those unaware, the reason for the automatic belts were a federal safety regulation, and you will see that on some cars from about 1989 till around 1993 or '94. During this period the regulation called for a passive restraint system for all passenger cars for sale in the U.S. (trucks were exempt) this requirement could be met with automatic belts OR airbags. Since airbags were considerably more expensive and some body styles could not accommodate them without extensive modification and redesign, many cars of the time used the automatic belts, while the mid to high end models got airbags. 1995 required a driver's side airbag at a minimum, and the auto seat belts were history.

My maternal grandfather has a 1992 Buick Century Special with V6 engine (base model) which was originally her sister's car for 15 years. Man, the rear head room was mediocre, saggy headliner, faulty tape player, faulty power rear window, weak A/C, and a cracked dashboard. He don't ever keep it clean!

Man I'll tell ya Buick sucks these days. After watching this video it makes me want to go back in time and buy one of those LeSabre's with the white wall tires and wire wheel covers.

+Tony The Tiger But all the new cars have that waste of space center console.

+GS7093 and the cars all look the same with no style at all.

GS7093 True - I agree the center console only takes up space and I hate how they usually chafe my right knee. But, overall, Buicks have become more reliable, stylish and are actually great to drive.

I see nothing but plastic FWD SHITBOXES the only real car they offered that year was the wagon. actual body by Fisher, metal and carburetor olds 307. I will say they chinced on that wagon for 90. I've had an 84, I have an 83 & a 90. the 90 is horribly put together compared to the other to. IMO they chinced the 90 because they knew that was the last year run for that b body and it will be obsolete soon enough. this is the first generation of junkie, 10 year throw away cars that we have today

Clayton Brandt I do agree with you the 3800 is one of the most reliable engine is you could get in a Buick

Listen useful entertainment I know you like the big B body and it wasn’t discontinued they made the roadmaster Fleetwood and Caprice on that platform until 1996 and the front will drive cars you see in this are not SHITboxes. These cars have won awards for reliability quality and overall just being reliable cars the 2.8 L V6 3.1, 3.3, 3.4, 3800 have won a high and the 3800was number 1 on wards top 10 most reliable V-6 engines list and have been in many other types of lists of reliability thank you for reading this comment reply I just wanted you to know that I really do love these cars for a reason not like people just love Ferraris orLamborghinis because they’re fast I love these cars because they are reliable practical and good looking just to me the good-looking part it’s not necessarily your opinion thank you again for reading this comment and have a nice day.
