I’ve found a few older sets involving Isai on RUclips. He never taunted just to say he had such a lead that the game’s over, but something about Wes must’ve really gotten under his skin because in their games (it got pretty tight sometimes) he always seemed to be looking for chances to taunt.
Grand Finals of Evo 2016 is one of the reasons I support HBox. You see the raw emotion in him when he wins a tournament, and when he finally won Evo after constantly being the runner-up, he showed it fully. I don't think I see any other players react as humanely as HBox
Imagine hating a guy who works his ass off to become the best player at a game, then trying to invalidate him for playing "campy" when armada is loved by everyone (including me) when he plays just as defensively. The only reason puff is top tier is because Hbox is fucking great at what he does, Fox was meta for the longest time, and he could still slap foxes cheeks. Let the man enjoy what he's doing because he's been on the grind for so long, and he deserves it. not to mention the man *has a damn character arc*

I love almost all his sets as long as his opponent doesn’t give up. Not gonna lie I can usually fall asleep during most matchups but anything vs Puff really gets me going
You can’t complain about it being boring because even though his play style is the way it is the other characters are playing characters built to counter jiggly so he has to capitalize on jiggly’s strengths to bring the best results. It’s like only using a full tank of gas and not using only a half a tank to “entertain” or fuel the audience

Puff is a better and easier character!” Uh-huh, right, that’s why roughly half of the top 100 players main Fox while only a handful use Puff. Just suck it up fam, Hbox is the clutch god, the player with maybe the strongest mental game in history. The only one who could even challenge that is Armada. That’s why he’s on top and consistently beats a character with a 60-40 winning matchup.

There are more foxes in general because fox is seen as more fun to play, but once you're in top 100, general character matchups play an undeniably massive role. Puff is slow and dies early af against a top 8 character list with characters that are the fastest in the game that hit like trucks. There are only 5 puffs in the top 100, and only 2 in the top 50 including hbox. Puff is not as hard to play from a technical perspective, but applying her strengths against a roster like that is a mountain of task. I guarantee that puff would be seen as mid-tier at highest and not competitively viable without hbox. He's not overhyped by any stretch of the imagination.

I love hbox. Im pretty new to the scene and didnt understand why people disliked him so much, until looked at his past attitude and watched as he evolved over the years. He's my favorite melee player.
Hbox definitely gets alot of shit from the scene (maybe even more than he deserves.) But in the future when the current gods are retired, or if everyone moved on to a new game, we will be looking back at videos like this and realize how incredible his gameplay was. He's a legend in the making.

No when you add in the fact that these are humans playing the game and not computers with outcomes that will always be perfect. Puff is top 3 at worst, debatably better than falco. Her only losing mu is against fox and even that matchup has been skewed by the fact that a fox can't play perfectly 100 percent of the time. Falco is near non existent at the top level of play, the only player with an once of consistency with him is mango and he's the most inconsistent god. Falco has dropped off so hard that its crazy that people think hes still top 2 despite not winning anything since pp left. Marth is the only other character that has a chance to combat her but she can crouch under his grab and punish him with a rest, and a grab is what Marth needs in that mu cause it sets up for all his kills. Stop acting like puff is a weaker character when there are players like jerry, Michael, and 2saint making waves with her.
If you think about it, the top two players don’t even main spacies. Granted armada has a great Fox, both he and Hbox use floaty characters that have awesome recovery and amazing edgeguard options. They’re the best at their characters which make them the best in the world. Love them both so much
The meta isn't even CLOSE to being a spacies meta. In the top ten, there are two spacies mains. That's 2 out of 10. Right now the meta heavily favours floaties and FMTs. Puff is good in this meta.

I love watching Hbox play. I understand why some people think it’s boring, but just seeing spacies vs spacies all the time is even more boring. Hbox at least brings more variety to top level play.
I mean, not everyone can be mango/scar/bizzaro and play for the people. Boring as people may find it, you play games for entertainment. If you find it fun, knock yourself out. Most hate on hbox is from people that met him years before when he was a prick. Not saying he's great now but he definitely has humbled himself a bit. Listening to him on the couch with some other gods, I kinda feel bad cuz everyone just grinds on him. While people might not enjoy his playstyle, I don't think the hbox hate is justified.
If Hbox wasn’t there there would actually be less spacies in top 8s. Look at the top 10 right now, the only solo spacie players are Mango and Leffen, and even then each one is mainly known for either Fox or Falco.

At SmasCon, SFAT lost to Jerry, one of the best players in MDVA - a region that has been on a huge comeup recently. He used to play Fox for years but switched to Puff to be less reliant on techskill while still maintaining a competitive edge because he started focusing more on DBFZ and couldn't put in the training with fox as a result. Everyone agrees that Puff requires less techskill, but at the same time has less tools in 1v1 and other Top Tiers. But I wouldn't exactly call Jerry "a guy who just picked up melee", it's kinda disrespectful towards him as a top player, but oh well.
Sneaky Pete If I'm not mistaken, he played Puff before Fox, then switched to Fox, then switched back to Puff. At least, I've seen Xanadu's where he had a pocket Puff. So he's definitely played Puff for awhile. Still, I agree that it's pretty telling that Puff is busted.
When people say hbox is boring to watch, i always think that is...said from a position that hasnt self reflected. I mean i never liked watching any smash for a long time because i didnt get what they were doing. People say that the audience only watches melee for the fast 20xx plays, but honestly do you want people watching the game just cause its fast and flashy? Maybe. Money is money. But once i started watching it more, and understood what they were doing, it was more interesting to watch. Puff and hbox may initially seem boring to watch, but if you are trying to actually see what hes doing or thinking, which is hard, its really entertaining. Like its slow, but methodical. Hes thinking just as fast as everyone else, but plays slower, which is pretty interesting.

A lot of top players and outside of top 8 use Fox, but how come only one uses Puff? Mad respect for the skills to go against everyone with one single character that nobody else uses.
Why do people still believe fox is dominating this game? Fox has become so exploitable over the years that players legitimately pick floaties so they don't have to deal with the pressure of making mistakes. There's so many more puffs, Marths, peaches, and ics making waves then foxes now. He's still the best character but there isn't a majority of foxes in every top 8. If anything it's cause hbox makes top 8 and forces others to play fox.

The meta isn't even CLOSE to being a spacies meta. In the top ten, there are two spacies mains. That's 2 out of 10. Right now the meta heavily favours floaties and FMTs. Puff is good in this meta.

I really don't get why there is so many people that hates Hbox. He is insanely good and he basically made a low tier character one of the most feared characters in all of smash melee
I love watching Hbox play. I understand why some people think it’s boring, but just seeing spacies vs spacies all the time is even more boring. Hbox at least brings more variety to top level play.

I mean, not everyone can be mango/scar/bizzaro and play for the people. Boring as people may find it, you play games for entertainment. If you find it fun, knock yourself out. Most hate on hbox is from people that met him years before when he was a prick. Not saying he's great now but he definitely has humbled himself a bit. Listening to him on the couch with some other gods, I kinda feel bad cuz everyone just grinds on him. While people might not enjoy his playstyle, I don't think the hbox hate is justified.
If Hbox wasn’t there there would actually be less spacies in top 8s. Look at the top 10 right now, the only solo spacie players are Mango and Leffen, and even then each one is mainly known for either Fox or Falco.
HBox is my favorite Smash player but damn do I respect Armada. Amazing player, true to his craft, and a totally respectful loser when it happens. If HBox doesn’t win, I pull for Armada.

At SmasCon, SFAT lost to Jerry, one of the best players in MDVA - a region that has been on a huge comeup recently. He used to play Fox for years but switched to Puff to be less reliant on techskill while still maintaining a competitive edge because he started focusing more on DBFZ and couldn't put in the training with fox as a result. Everyone agrees that Puff requires less techskill, but at the same time has less tools in 1v1 and other Top Tiers. But I wouldn't exactly call Jerry "a guy who just picked up melee", it's kinda disrespectful towards him as a top player, but oh well.
You don't need many tools when the ones you do have kill super early and have disjointed hitboxes that rival sword characters.
Sneaky Pete If I'm not mistaken, he played Puff before Fox, then switched to Fox, then switched back to Puff. At least, I've seen Xanadu's where he had a pocket Puff. So he's definitely played Puff for awhile. Still, I agree that it's pretty telling that Puff is busted.
ssb4 is different lol, Melee puff can be countered, Bayo from ssb4 cannot.

When people say hbox is boring to watch, i always think that is...said from a position that hasnt self reflected. I mean i never liked watching any smash for a long time because i didnt get what they were doing. People say that the audience only watches melee for the fast 20xx plays, but honestly do you want people watching the game just cause its fast and flashy? Maybe. Money is money. But once i started watching it more, and understood what they were doing, it was more interesting to watch. Puff and hbox may initially seem boring to watch, but if you are trying to actually see what hes doing or thinking, which is hard, its really entertaining. Like its slow, but methodical. Hes thinking just as fast as everyone else, but plays slower, which is pretty interesting.
I always come back for the second one, just for the scream of the "rest!!!"

Fox Players are not really THAT common.
Why do people still believe fox is dominating this game? Fox has become so exploitable over the years that players legitimately pick floaties so they don't have to deal with the pressure of making mistakes. There's so many more puffs, Marths, peaches, and ics making waves then foxes now. He's still the best character but there isn't a majority of foxes in every top 8. If anything it's cause hbox makes top 8 and forces others to play fox.
