Except for the belt tensioner breaking off the front cover lol. Was getting our 4900 plow truck ready for the season and was wondering why the battery wasn't charging at all
Sweet truck. If diesel wasnt so high, id be driving the same set up. Ive owned 5 diesel trucks. GMC k5 diesel 4x4, 1993 Dodge cummins 4x4, 2003 dodge 2500 cummins 2x4, 2004 dodge 3500 4x4 cummins, 2004 International DT466 Allison auto.but diesel prices have changed everything. When i bought my GMC diesel K5 4x4 in 1999, diesel was 99 cents. Sickning what's going on in America and Raping Americans for fuel. I gave up on diesels for good. Commuting long distance and paying $135 to fill a tank, that use to cost.$35 grounded lots of diesel trucks. That DT 466 is a Brute and will last forever. Great video . Brings back memories. That singing of a inline turbo diesel is pure heaven .
Like others have said just a little fuel haze. old school diesel stuff, you should see some of the old 400 big cam cummins motors, those have a real haze of fuel smoke when cold

I just bought a 97 international cab chassis with 20ft behind cab. it has 199,000 miles and kept inside its whole life. Im making it into a working show truck and truck 3 of my hauling and transport company.
Looks normal to me the dump truck I just got has a dt466 in it it smokes a little blue but it hasn't been ran for I'm guessing 5 or 8 years so I'm going to have the injectors rebuilt but first I'm going to drive it and get it all worked back in
The truck has long since been sold off but the problem was solved beforehand. Not sure what was going on but I drained and cleaned the fuel tank replaced the fuel filters, and added fresh fuel with two quarts of non-synthetic transmission fluid to the fuel. After about half a tank the smoking problem went away for good. So either something was sticking in the injection pump or it was just simply fuel related
thankfully it was not that turd of an engine. Still though, it was much to pathetic and has been sold. Replaced it with a Freightliner with a DD13. HUGE difference in pulling power and actually gets better MPG
@@_.incredible_magnum._291 would have been nice, though i ended up owning a truck with an 8.3 later on. Good engine but not much more power and drivability over the 466. My Freightliner Cascadia with the Detroit DD13 is far better than any medium duty truck.

It’s not burning all the fuel while warming up so it hazes. Normal diesel stuff

You can turn the fuel up on it and it will roll coal. Its easy and a video on here to show you how
its used for towing, i care more about EGT's than i do smoke. overfueling is a great way to kill a diesel engine what is being put to work.
