Drove a 2000 model 4700 for 18 years, tough truck. She us still in our fleet and still ready for work(will be 22 years old in July). Cannot beat a DT466E/DT466!
I agree, I now have 2 DT466 engines. One in this white truck and I recently bought a bus with one also. Probably the best medium duty engine ever built. Thanks for watching!
If only there wasn’t copyright laws I could have played that song 😆! I’ve accomplished a lot on it and still have more to do! I need a Big J’s beans logo in the back window! Thanks for watching!
I really like this one so far, the extra gears with the 2 speed really helps in our mountains. The DT466’s are dependable engines for sure! Thanks for watching!
That thing is an absolute beauty. I don't think I'll find one that nice. I hope this thing really works well for you long term. It's a great looking truck, but I do still like that old square hood too!
I’ve been well pleased so far! We paid more for this truck then what we had originally planned to on a truck. But it was one of a kind. I’ll go into more detail on the truck in another video. Appreciate you watching!
K&H Tractors and Trucks! Great looking rig. I’m sure you will put it to good use after having to sleep in it till the misses cools off. Just go buy something else and she’ll forget about that purchase 👍😂
How's she goin'? That's a good looking truck. What fun eh, gearing it up the way you want it!!! I noticed when you were pulling on the bumper the weld on the left side seemed like it was broke. FYI!!! Looking forward to seeing the changes you are going to make on this rig!! Take care!!!
Going good, hope you are doing well! I’ve got the bumper fixed now, it’s in a later video. I’m making progress but still a few more things to do! Thanks for watching!
@@khtractors 🤣👍 Be strong Man 💪🤣 and face the storm by bracing yourself very well into your truck, it always sunny after that as pass 🌞🤣 That is what makes life interesting is in it mon ami 🥴🤔🤣👍 Cheers 🍻
wished I had knew you were in the market for one , I just sold 2 96 dt466 7 speeds to just get them out of the way , used to be rollbacks , they both were still good trucks I sold the pair for 5k ...
@@khtractors nope they were mechanical , the one 96 I have left is as well , they went to the E motors mid year , mine even had the manual cable fuel shut downs ... I still have a 92 7.3 IDI ford super duty 19ft rollback that needs a new home kinda ugly , but a great running and driving truck hauls skid steers and mini excavators well , actually all it has hauled in the past 5 years as I didn't want to scratch up my new beds , I am open to trades ect I don't need it , and honestly it's really just in the way , if you have a use for it and want it I am 100% positive we can make it yours easily somehow , clean title ect , I am just across the line in TN , I am a close neighbor
It was so hard to see the Dodge leave. It had started to get pretty rusty and I wasn’t willing to invest the money into it for the repairs. This 4900 along with my S1654 will make a good combination! Thanks for watching!
Happy to see youve got this truck. You mentioned to be a while back about finding a 466, and what a clean truck youve got! Is the 5 speed transmission synchronized? Also do you have a class A ? Farm tags? Or just run it ( im not here to judge ). Someone down the road had a nice Freightliner FLC120 day cab up for sale. I would love to buy it but i think the house is going to take priority on this one lol! Looking forward to what comes next. Have a good one Ben.
It’s farm tags, you can drive up to 150 miles from home on them without a CDL under any weight class. The transmission is synchronized. Yes in your case definitely focus on the house first, that means more then any truck! Thanks for watching!
I already had the hitch placement figured out on the red truck so I just put it in the same spot on this one. It’s just slightly forward of the axle. Appreciate you watching!
Great projects ahead Ben 👍🏻, the hitch plate did fit like a glove, just a little tap and it went in 👍🏻. That was a long driving day 😳. Have a great one Ben 🙂🙋🏼♂️👍🏻
New subscriber here, I’m building a top kick truck kinda like your international, what’s the pump for that you want people to be able to try out? Is that a slab of counterweight behind the gooseneck ball?
The pump was a septic vacuum pump, I was able to sale it. Yes the thick steel is for weight, helps give a little better ride and adds traction. Good luck on your project! Send me pictures to my email if you would like once you get it finished, I’d like to see it. Thanks for watching!
🤣🤣! She thought by the age of it I was getting a pile of junk, but after seeing it she lightened up a little. I’m at least sleeping back in the bed for now 😆! Thanks
It’s hard to find one in this good of shape. Zero rust. They range any where from $5000-$12000 depending on condition. I would focus more on condition then miles. Mine has 330,000 but was rebuilt once because of a liner leaking coolant. Thanks for watching
It’s one I had, it is 1/2”. Thick with another 1/2” plate about 12” square welded on top in the center for the ball to bolt through both pieces. I welded 2” square tubing to each edge of that plate for reinforcement. I’ve not had any issues but going thicker wouldn’t hurt. Thanks
Those trucks with DT 466 are un KILLABLE,,,last long time trouble free.
Yes they are great! Thanks

I had one, really reliable and helped me pull through throughout the lockdown.
Good old trucks! Thanks for watching!
Congrats on your new truck Ben.You deserve that truck, you are such a hard working man.Have a blessed day and be SAFE.
I really appreciate you saying that, it means a lot! Thanks for watching!
Great machines right there....no def or dpf crap ......
They have both been dependable trucks! Thanks for watching
Congratulations on the new truck. That looks like a serious workhorse
Thank you! It’s proving out to be pretty good!
💥 I’ve been waiting for this video! Can’t wait to see what your plans are with this new truck.
*Keep on tractoring!*
Appreciate you watching Jon, take care!
Nice truck Ben! Love the Internationals!
Neil, thank you so much for watching! That’s made my day! I’ve always wanted one with this hood style and the DT466. Take care!
Congrats on the new to you truck!! Thanks for taking all of us with ya!
Thank you for watching! Take care!
Solid old truck, hard to find with the 2 speed axle any more. Wish they still made them like that.
It’s the perfect setup! I’ve wanted one of these for years! Appreciate you watching!
Nice Trucks
You sure know your trucks !
Thanks! I’m learning!
Good looking truck. Lots of driving. Boys, I think we have us a convoy....CONVOY. Lots like a great project

I have one of those, well mine is a 2002 4900 dump truck with the DT466E Allison 5speed automatic, very powerful truck.
I really like this one so far, the extra gears with the 2 speed really helps in our mountains. The DT466’s are dependable engines for sure! Thanks for watching!

I sure hope so too! I’ll go more in depth on the truck in another video. Appreciate you watching!
Now we know why you went to Lynchburg 😀. Nice clean looking truck Ben. 466 is bullet proof!
It was a long hard trip but I think it worked out well! Thanks for watching buddy!

Hey now you’ll get me in trouble again with that advice 🤣! Really appreciate you watching! I might should add that (Trucks)to the channel name!
Woot! my guess was right on the previous sneak peek video! Congrats on the new truck buddy!
Yes sir you was! Appreciate you watching!
Nice clean truck I've got a similar setup that I run to pull gooseneck along with drop deck semi trailer.
I sure like it so far. Appreciate you watching!
I have a 4900 16 foot flat bed dumper.
Love that truck.
Great shape to.
Just works without issues
Good to know! Thanks for watching

Like the load Stars and S series the 4900s were great trucks I worked on a lot of them they had very good cabs and chassis..
I really like them. Thanks for watching
Best luck for your new truck Sir and projects and hope that you will have the support of your love one 😇👍 Cheers 🍻

Can you post a test drive video in the truck?
I have several videos driving the truck if you want to look through them. I appreciate you watching!
You are going to regret selling the Dodge, but I understand why. That 4900 is a good one.

I just bought a 2001 international 4900 too! What kind of oil are you running and any feedback?
I’ve always used Rotella 15w40 in most of my diesels. Mobil Delvac is good oil also. Thanks for watching

Perfect size truck , I’d like to find one with the 5+2. Y’all sound like my kin in SE Ky
Your close we are in Southwest Virginia right near KY. This has become a great truck, I now have a flatbed on it. Thanks for watching
Nice truck Ben, typical women, not seeing the big picture, they mean well. Take care 🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
🤣🤣! She thought by the age of it I was getting a pile of junk, but after seeing it she lightened up a little. I’m at least sleeping back in the bed for now 😆! Thanks
I’m wanting one just like it. Can you tell me what it’s worth, so I know if I can afford one? How many miles?
It’s hard to find one in this good of shape. Zero rust. They range any where from $5000-$12000 depending on condition. I would focus more on condition then miles. Mine has 330,000 but was rebuilt once because of a liner leaking coolant. Thanks for watching
Got a 86 international How hard is it to change old spoke rims to rims on red truck?
Shouldn’t be too hard if you find the hubs.
What size plate did you build your gooseneck hitch out of?
It’s one I had, it is 1/2”. Thick with another 1/2” plate about 12” square welded on top in the center for the ball to bolt through both pieces. I welded 2” square tubing to each edge of that plate for reinforcement. I’ve not had any issues but going thicker wouldn’t hurt. Thanks
Hey Ben like your new truck if mind send some pic of your up exhaust an maybe give me some ideas I have 97 4900 an am kinda new to truck
Email me and I’ll send some pictures. My email is in the description. I actually have a video of the exhaust stack build I did. Thanks for watching
They definitely don't make them like they used to, I'd take a 4900 ANY DAY over a new MV, They were just more solid than the new trucks
Very good trucks I think! Thanks
i got a international s1854 466dt with a five speed and high and low
the year built was 1981
Good trucks! My 1985 has a 6.9, the white 1992 is a DT466 and I have a 1995 bus with a NGD DT466
@@khtractors man those 466 are bullet proof
probably drives like shit with nothing on the frame rails lol Looks nice though, must have been repainted
No it’s all original paint with zero cab rot. Truck was parked inside all its life. Has a flatbed on it now. Thanks!
