May Marissa pass the torch well to future Tracy's beyond Broadway and the 2007 film including whoever will be lucky to star in NBC's TV revival of Hairspray this December. 14 years later, she should be thankful for starring in this classic 60's rags to riches story!
aidan averbeck she has said in an interview that he said something to the effect of “this is your moment, don’t let anyone take it away from you, you deserve it” kind of thing. It’s a lovely moment! :)
And now her recent career highlight is celebrity big brother. This sucks. She’s such a powerhouse of talent. She’s s lovely person which leads me to believe she’s great to work with. There are likely no diva issues keeping her from being offered parts. So what gives? Lots of talent, a pleasant person. Why isn’t she doing important work? Why has she been forced to engage in such mindless trash? This blows.
Well, I never saw her, so I can’t say for certain, but, according to the theatre community, she didn’t sustain the role well-she struggled vocally as the run progressed. This isn’t her fault, honestly, as she attended AMDA (or SCAMDA, as it’s commonly referred), so she probably wasn’t given much in the way of proper technique. Having said that, I did see Peters in ‘Gypsy’, and cannot imagine how anyone could have won over her.
And now she won Celebrity Big Brother.
