Holy shit Keith is playin the shit outta that guitar!!!! Love the raw sound live 1972-1978. Hands down the greatest band of all time. The sound of the guitar gives me goosebumps everytime!

At the Inglewood Forum, I was there for two nights back to back. The Stones arrived packed in 2 station wagons! Sadly, I worked the night shift, and because the Stones started almost 2 hours too late, I could only catch the first half of their show. What a bummer. Also filmed them in Super 8 and recorded sound as well on a pro-class portable cassette recorder.

"Where is Chuck Berry?" Probably consulting with his mob lawyers about which white rock and roll icon to sue for plagarism. First, they sued the Beach Boys for "Surfin U.S.A", because the verses sounded slightly like Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen". Even though Berry never had a prayer at being able to sing the chorus, with Brian Wilson's high-pitched "Ev'ry-body's gone sur-fin ..." Next, Berry's mafia manager, Morris Levy, tried to sue John Lennon for "Come Together", which, while sounding nothing like Berry's, DOES use the phrase "Here Come ol' Flat-Top". I am completely certain Levy would have lost a plagarism trial, but the thing is, they filed the suit in N.Y. while Lennon was living in L.A., trying to give baby Sean not only quality time, but good, old-fashioned QUANTITY time. He didn't want to fly every morning (or uproot the whole family) to New York, just to meet with lawyers and musicologists to build John's defense. It was easier for John to settle out of court by agreeing to cover three other songs Levy owned. However, for some reason, Levy fucked up and decided to sue John again, only this time he LOST A FORTUNE. He lost the suit and had to pay John Lennon -- AND EMI records! It was one of the DUMBEST mistakes in rock and roll history! Heh. Don't fuck with the man who sang "Instant Karma's gonna get you"!
Jagger had to use that line in concert after John Wayne's lawyers threatened to sue him for writing the original, "I'll take bets that you will get/ John Wayne before he dies." Pagey, on the other hand, loved to boast about his many groupies.

As long as I'm here . . . Do Mick and the boys speed up their recordings so the vocals sound youthful and energetic? See, on all the records, Mick Jagger sounds like the youthful rebel he always meant to be, but on stage he sounds like a rhinocerous who's just been told he has cancer.
Maybe .. bands used 'varispeed' commonly since the early days, George Martin did it for the Beatles from the beginning. The Stones have the reputation as a great live band - and they could be - but I would always rather listen to the studio versions.
