DJI Mini 4 Pro C1 Label - DJI Sent Me Compliance Authentication Stickers

  • DJI Mini 4 Pro C1 Compliance Authentication Stickers are part of the process possible with DJI FLY App version 1.12.8, where DJI has introduced the option to request a C1 Label for your DJI Mini 4 Pro if you have declassified the drone. I did this with my DJI drone still being C0, not knowing if they would send me one of the C1 labels.
As per EASA / EU Drone Rules 2024, all EU DJI drones must carry a Cx label unless their weight is below 250g. The DJI Mini 4 Pro faced issues when flying at night due to external LED requirements pushing its weight beyond 250g. This concern can be addressed by applying for a C1 label, but it's important to note that it requires an A1/A3 drone certificate for flying

These regulations confuse me very much. I live in Germany and don't get it anymore. Should watch some videos again.
I didn't update my Mini 3 Pro after the well known update where DJI messed with the hight limit.
For my FPV drone, a sub 250g GEPRC Cinelog 25 v2, I don't even know if I am allowed to fly it. Hopefully, no one will call the police until I understand these rules.
    Way too confusing bs.

So can someone NOT knowing my eID and NOT being close to where I currently fly that C1 M4P actually monitor my activities with e.g. the „drone scanner“ app? I have not found a single drone in there scanning all kinds of places where I assumed I could catch a drone in action

So I bought a DJI Mini 4k a week ago, can I declassify it to be able to climb above 120 meters above ground level?.
If so, I will be able to fly at a maximum altitude of 500 meters, and the drone will continue to be a C0.
As it does not exceed 250 grams, I do not need any label, because it is disqualified.
If the weight exceeds 250 grams I need a C1 label, due to the increase in weight.
Assuming that my drone is declassified, weighs less than 250 grams and does not have any type of label, whether C0 or C1, can I fly in categories A1 A2 and A3?

the biggest questions is... does that C1 classification allow you to set max height to over 120m? Am also interested if someone did this with a drone bought in 2024 and if it allowed it to set max height over 120m

Hi Hendrick. I am not sure why you would need to change the approved label for DJI mini 4 pro from C0 to C1 when you use the remote lights or battery. Regardless of the weight added the drone itself is recognised as C0 a drone under 250g. The law does by no means says it would be automatically classified as C1 if the battery or added light would make it heavier by a gram. The drone class don't change by this add-ons, right?

    • @iamlaurentp8397
      @iamlaurentp8397 3 месяца назад

Adding any extra weight on the drone will make it heavier than 250g so it doesn't qualify as C0 anymore.

you need to follow the process as described in the video. Remove the C0 stickers and replace by the new C1 ones. Send DJI pictures of the changes as proof and apply for a UAS operator number that is required when flying a C1 cat drone. Your remote will prompt you for this number and I guess won't let you fly otherwise.

@@RaulSuecia hello, after applying the proces for c1, you get a message from dji that, if the stickers are set correct and this is proven by some photos, your mini4 is a c1 drone. Some time (hours) after that, after switching off and on, you have the possibility to enter your pilot-license-number (you get this after completion of a course succesfull) and after that the mini4 is released to go to 500mtr. I hope this is helpfull to you.

Hey i have made the full process. The certificate is downloaded and I have no possibility to save my remote id in the drone. So it is certified to C1 without remote id. It seems, that all M4P drones, that have not been declasified in 2023, can switch to C1 and after they are approved by DJI, the line to enter the remote ID apears on the RC2, after you request the remove of the 120m limit.
If the drone has been declasified from C0 to legacy drone and already has removed the 120m limit, this doesn't happen.
DJI will send you the stickers, they will approve the change to C1 certification, even provide a PDF document with the serial number of your drone, but no matter what you do, the line to enter the remote ID will not show up. Using a Plus battery or M3P battery doesn't help. It just shows a pop up warning, that the weight is not C0 compliant any more, but that's it.
Problem is discussed in the DJI Forum. Lot's of drone owners from all over Europe have the same problem, that they now have a C1 labled drone, that doesn't comply with C1 requirements, because it doesn't use remote ID.
DJI is informed of the problem, but has no solution until now. DJI support in chat and on phone is helpless and has no clue at all. It's just a big mess. 😭

@@ExHanseat you can't anymore. I bought a M4P in December as it was the very last possibility to declassify it. I just removed the C0 sticker from my drone and sent the proof to DJI. Drone was unlocked and I could flight up to 500m. Unfortunately, my drone suffered from sensors failure. it was sent to DJI for repair and they just sent me back a new 2024 unit. I now have to go via all this sh*t process to get the altitude restriction removed. I have my licence A1/A3 and A2 but still... why some can fly invisible and why some are obliged to give all kind of personal info is baffling me. Sorry, but all these restrictions, certifications, de-certifications and stickers are just stupid. People choosing to ignore these restrictions won't register or label their drones. This is another example of government over-regulation forced on law-abiding drone operators/owners. DJI drones will likely be banned in the US in the future. I expect ALL drone operations to also be Part 107 certified pilots. All these rules do nothing to eliminate illegal flights.
