  • Yacht delivery 94 foot Broward from Charleston to Jacksonville for a yrd period. the boat was too heavey to get hauled localy so, we had to bring it to Florida. this was the first time in a long while that the boat has been out of the harbor. Due to this fact we took our time and did the trip in three days. Much longer then a quick overnight but, a good call just incase something went wrong,andd you lmpw it alwasy does. It was a very tight squeeze into the haul well in JAX and we had several issue with the boat. We also got pinned onto the dock in Fernandina Beach. Lost our generator that supplied hydraulics to the thruster so we waited anotherr few hours to get off the dock with spring lines. A much preferred way in my opinion. Thanks for watchig.

    Your other question is for a fair water buoy. Defines the end of a markered channel and the beginning of open ocean. My dad taught charts and navigation for the Coast Guard auxiliary…. Kind of burned into my memory.

      White light, flashes 10sec interval is what I recall, but seems like it may have an alternate.

      Very close it’s the Morse code A. which is a dot dash with an interval of darkness but yes, it is a white light

Now I’m like we have one engine, no steering and maybe only 3 out of the 4 props. … ya I can bring that to Florida for you by the weekend. 🤣😂😂🤪

    • @CarolinaMarineGroupCharleston
      @CarolinaMarineGroupCharleston  4 дня назад +1

      Nope! It’s a cheater lol. 99% of the time you can use wind, current and most important, timing to get in and out.😃 the one time I tried to rely on the bath, thruster the generator shut down as I was using it and we settled back to the dock. That was the end of that and we used spring lines.

    Guy with lights...the surge from your larger boat is probably disturbing the bait fish, disoriented they swim to the bright lights on his bow, he spins about and throws his net. Inexperienced boaters shine their lights on you and hold them there, very irritating for anyone!

      I was using just my sticks to get in to the haul well. Using the wind and current I can calculate what and how the boat is going to handle. I just slid it into the well nice and easy. No sweet! 😃

    At 29:16 The buoy (red and white can) is a Safe Water Marker or Fairway buoy depending on which way you are coming or going. I didn't look closely, but it may have had an Intracoastal Waterway mark on it too.
