Flexcut is the best knife for the money and their customer service is amazing. I've had one problem in about 15 years of using their tools and I had a new tool in the mail, no questions asked, within 5 days.
Agreed!
Thanks Alec, loved it, you’re making a lot of folks better carvers
Thanks John! That’s the goal!
Thanks Alex for all you do, love the videos you posted, please keep them coming. I have learned a so much by watching you and Doug and then trying to make the same thing, lol you are an inspiration. Thank you for taking the time to help the rest of us out.
Thanks Noah! cheers
Great carving. Iv done hundreds of Doug’s wizard, you techniques are different and interesting, I will carve yours. Thank you
Thanks Tom!
This is such a wonderful video! The way you set up the face cleared up quite a few things I’ve been struggling with. Thank you!
Glad to help!
You have the exact type of flooring that I have!!! My wife worked at the place that sold the stuff! It’s really nice and seems to hold up well!!! Nice job on the wizard too !!! You really should put your cut glove on though!!!
Thanks Ricky! Enjoy your floor!
Another great video Alec! Great looking little Wizard! I was missing the Coffee and Carving show today. Hopefully next week!
Thank you!
I love these little carvings: I learn from each one. Thank you, Alec!
Thanks Stan!
I've been carving for 2 years now but I love that you show a strop in every video. It reminds me like "HEY IDIOT SHARPEN YOUR KNIFE BEFORE YOU GET TOO FRUSTRATED AND GIVE UP"
Hahaha, I guess that’s the goal!!! 😂😂👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Done a couple of your carvings so far, these videos are so helpful. Keep up the great work!
So glad! Thanksn
Like it! Definitely a different sequence or approach to getting the wizard to appear! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tom!
He looks great. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Michael!
Thank you for your video. Had a go at this today 👍🏻
Glad to hear!
Ok, I can’t keep up, 😂. I enjoy these short videos that you’ve done recently, and I think this is the best yet. I will attempt it soon. I promise! Thanks!
Thank you David!
Fantastic carving Alec .🖒
Thanks Hugh!
Técnica diferente das que eu vinha observando e praticando. Irei tentar assimilar algo de sua genialidade.
Abraço desde o Brasil!🇧🇷
Awesome! Another great video! Helps with more advanced techniques to the simple wizard! Btw, your basswood looks like it needs a Brazilian wax 😂! Thanks for you the great video!
Thanks a lot! 😂
Great eyes, got to try. Thx
Thanks Sire!
Hi Alec;
You said if you don't have a bandsaw. I assume that you do have a bandsaw and are using it to cut your 2" square blocks in half? I don't have a bandsaw to do that. I'm trying to figure out how to make that cut another way. If my scroll saw doesn't have a large enough throat opening, I'm thinking of making a jig to do it with on my table saw.
You are a very helpful teacher. Thanks so much. I am an absolute beginner. So I have a novice knife question. FlexCut offers several knives. The one you are using has a curved sharpened edge. Several of the other FlexCut knives are straight. Is there an advantage of the curved knife edge over the straight edge knife?
Check out my YT shorts! I answer that there!
And thanks!
Nice!
Love it but you can just keep going as long as you want 😊 thanks.
Thanks fern!
Other carvers that first draw SO many pencil lines, really messes with my brain. Thanks for not being one of them. ❤
Same here! Thanks
Could you talk about grain when it comes to cutting blocks in half . Is it better for the grain to be going towards the corner or not. I watched the part when you carved the eyes like 6 or 8 times I'm still not getting it . Maybe you could do videos on each part of the face . Like eyes, nose, mouth, . Really enjoy your videos, I also watch coffee and carving really good show been missing it the last couple of weeks. I have a challenge for you and Doug you guys should do a carving of each other .
Good idea! Thanks!
Been having problems with pieces of wood chiping off.I got basswood which is easy to carv but it chips alot
Every tree is different! I hit some bad basswood every once in a while too.
