Thank you for your videos! You do a great job of filming. I love that you stop from time to time to show the piece (in focus :) ) so we can see what you have done. So helpful.
LOVE me some Lil Mousers! That is one thing I have collected over the years.....Just adore them. at age 5 I played or held lil newborn mice in our barn, did not know at the time but they were probably baby rats, their eyes were not open yet, I did not know what they were, they were just so tiny and cute.....YIKES! Thanks Alec for another piece of wood brought to life, made me chuckle, so magically funny, is that a word magically, lol
I got some chisels gouges and v tools on the way going to start that class of yours I got some basswood but I think mine is hard I got some whittling knives the 1 use being a flexcut and it is hell doing the stuff like taking off that corner to get the head angled in the beginning going to get beaver crafts basswood and see if it is softer
I'm so sorry about that, I totally forgot about the reference! I don't have a pattern but I recommend pausing the video at the end and using the finished project as a go-by.

I'm drawing your beautiful mouse and my wife's idea for me to copy it. Thanks for the motivation Want to add that mine was finished and it turned out cute Wife loves it and it went very well. It was the first time I draw the shape front and back and I mounted it on a nail that sticks up from a base of wood into a drilled hole up and between his legs and I can lift it anytime or if wind hits it it's safe. Just saying thanks for teaching Sir
Echt süß die Maus, würde ich gern versuchen nachzumachen, aber nicht so leicht oder? Was hast du für Spray benutzt , bevor du die Farbe aufgetragen hattest? Danke 😊👍
Anthropomorphize is the right word for your cute fellow. And yes, coming up with that word made think, "He is a smart guy!" Thank you for some inspiration for this beginner.
😅🤣😂If Nothing else, Mine turned out to be a GOOD mouse deterrent , I can set my mouser out and if Mice see him they will head for the Hills! ROFLMAO His ears popped off and unglueable if that is a word so I carved a couple and made them a hole to glue em in, looks okay but the eyes on mine look like Frankenmouser, Oh my, I am gonna make a second one now and hopefully improve on it 😁😆 I am ADHD and I tend to try and hurry up so I need to remind myself when carving that I HAVE to slow down
I use flexcut and have a range of blades , but I haven't seen this blade in the range so far , I do live in England so I may not get the full range flexcut has to offer, I quite like the blade so I will keep my eyes pealed. Gorgeous little mouse 🐁 🪤.
The tip about keeping hands in contact was very helpful. Thank you!
Cute little guy and I enjoy the chitchatting while you are carving. It just makes it a pleasure to watch and listen too.
Thanks fern!

Hello Alec, you mention a picture of the pattern in the left uppercorner, bur I think you forgot all about it. do you have the pattern for me?

OK, will do, Alec. Say hello to Doug when you are speaking with him, I've learned a lot from him, throughout his videos.

I like you carvings would you do a Snoopy for me
Good idea! I might do that!
That basswood piece has a really wide grain. The stuff if get hardly has a visible grain at all.
