There was a fan theory at the end of Jake and Amir that Amir was secretly filming their conversations, and Jake once noticed a camera at the beginning of one of the videos but Amir quickly came in and distracted him. They never ended up doing anything with the storyline, but this could be a similar thing where Geoff is behind it all
