@roberto8ag i got a handful of cheap IEMs sub $50 dollars i just grab on the way out the door, if something happens and they break it's no big deal. i leave my $200+ iems at home. can't really go wrong with any popular cheap iems in my opinion to pair it with the r1.

    • @AndyAudioVault
      @AndyAudioVault  Месяц назад +1

Thanks. As far as I can see, there's no Playlist creation option on the R1 for locally stored music in the SD Card. The interface is simple as shown in this video. For ease of access I suggest you sort your music on the SD Card the way you like it and then use the File option to browse. Or you can use MP3Tag software to tag the files properly and easier to use Albums/Artists selections

Btw, if one attempts to purchase a DAP better than this beginner-friendly R1, that also comes with bidirectional Bluetooth, what would you recommend? I’ve been looking into the Shanling series, particularly M1s and M1plus as they are also small and compact but not too small like the M0pro. Of course, there’s also R2, R3, and…R4 whose price would be a bit more intimidating. There might be others out there from Fiio and tempotec, which although I’m not as familiar with, I’m all ears to learn about their capabilities. Thanks!

Hi Andy! Please advise me.I have a Shanling UA4 dongle and I connect it to my smartphone via UAC.01.
I really like the sound. If I buy this mp3 player Hi by R1 and connect my dongle to this player, is it worth counting on improved sound? Or do I not need to spend the money and leave it as it is? • @AndyAudioVault

If you are going to use your UA4, then you can run UAC2 on this R1. Connecting an external dongle to any DAPs including this R1, the sound you hearing is what being processed by your UA4 100% because the DAP now will serve only as source transport, no audio processing from the DAP internal DAC. What it means, it does not matter what DAP you use, your UA4 will always sound the same no matter where it is connected to

I daily use the R3 Pro ( _for years_ ) the proprietary OS seems similar.
Not getting into details the only downside is updating the music database especially with a 1TB SD Card: sluggish 😮‍💨 (*)

(*) transfering curated playlists or just a couple of new albums.

Sadly no one does a bench test on this ( _processor speed_ ) Should be simple : insert same SD Card / Update Library / Measure time 'til completion.
Good advice to couple the Hiby with a slim external amp, it lengthens the Hiby battery usage with high gain on external amp.

I just want something that will play a full discography easily, one album after another and it's like the people who make music playing software simply won't make things easy for people to do so. This thing looks to be the same, I can't believe it's so hard to scan the metadata and at the very least sort albums by year instead of name, it's ridiculous.

All the daps are kind of pointless to me. If any company make something look like a smartphone why they don't put sim card function on this! I like music but i don't like to carry multiple devices for multiple functions. I hope Dap manufacturers wil make Moondrop Miad 01 like devices more.

The point of dedicated DAP is to not have any RF inducing components and there's always need for this sort of devices even if it does not fit the requirement of some. There's everything for everyone

While I know what you're saying is absolutely correct I think that in this day and age you and I along with everyone in the Community knows that dongle docks have gotten so much better than they've ever been a simple dongle can turn your phone into an audio Powerhouse

@@Drakken2030True. But in the same vein this DAP is lighter than most smartphones today as they reach 200 grams, granted most daps also reach that, players are used specifically for music while phones can do almost anything you want.
The MIAD smartphone is also really expensive compared to my phone. So this DAP is a useful device for someone who doesn't like to lug their phones with dongle dacs.

I tried to settle with type c dac dongle but my phone type c port become lose due to extensive use of type c dac dongle. Now my last hope is buy a lg v60 and join weirdo club! 🫤

Another point in favor of DAPs is that you don't needlessly waste the battery of your phone. Class A amplification draws quite a bit of power.
