    I do a lot of trolling for suspended walleye's in the central basin of Lake Erie. Off one leg of the three way swivel I run a 4' leader to a deep diving crank bait and off the other a 4' leader to a flutter spoon. The main line is attached to the third leg of the swivel. The spoon runs above the crank bait and the crank bait takes both baits to the desired depth. This rig doubles your chances for a hook-up. You do have to drop the crank bait into the water first before you drop in the spoon to avoid tangles. It's a dynamite method that every one should try.

    I don't know how to say it in english, but I'm using standard jig/spinning and "the fall method".
    A fall method is a kind of heavy jig with kind of "big fly" on it. It's from USA, but polish spiners modificated it long time ago to catch eg. walleyes.
    Cheers

    You can adapt this method with light salmon spoons to mini stick baits,lightening up or going heavier on the weight,height of swivel maters as well,all depends if fish are active

    I use bottom bouncers if you know what those are. If not, they are a lure with a hook and worm you bounce off the bottom trolling. Where in Michigan, I find the most success with that. Then every once in a while in deep weeds, they will hit large white spinners with a gold bail.

    Any rod and reel will do as long as it is around 6 1/2' to 7 1/2' and spinning or level wind, at the tome they made this video they were sponcered by Shimano. That particular Shimano set up is really ultimate I know because I have the very rod and reel but like I said any brand will do probably medium weight would be best with 8# or 10#. As far as jig fishing goes most guys use 6# line. A good mono or co-polomer. If you use braid use a good leader with it.

    Abu Garcia is my favorite. Not overpriced and very reliable. I have used fenwick, shakespear, shimanu, and daiwa. I will use Abu Garcia probably for the rest of my life.

    If I only had $15-30 to spend, what lures or soft baits would you guys suggest for purchase? I'm going for mostly bass and panfish. Anything that can catch multiple species actually. Any help?

    can you let line out quickly or will the 3 way set up tangle? do you let it out as if it were a dipsy diver, slowly let out line?

    • @shamrock6008
      @shamrock6008 6 лет назад

      Dirka13 it's best to thumb the spool and let line out on a tight line. Slack line going down may allow your crank to tangle with the main line

    if you all used St. Croix gear, you wouldn't have the arguing problem... ha ha ha, just kidding guys...although EXPENSIVE - They are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC rods. i gotta say too, that i have used some Berkley Lightning Rods that i think are great too... meaning, you can feel the slightest hit...and, they are pretty cheap in comparison with St. Croix gear.

    This technique is old school and frankly outdated. Not say you won’t catch walleye but there definitely easier and less hassle techniques that are not effective and less expensive
