For the weights sometimes I use pencil lead and surgical tubing. It is gets caught in the rocks, the line will just pull out of the tubing and you keep going with a new lead. No snaps needed.
Great question! For me, I perfer the 3 way when the water is in the low to mid 30 degree range as the fish seem to "lay low" in some of the heavier flowing rivers like the Wisconsin River and Wolf River. That said you can certainly still get bit going vertical with jigs - I like to be rigged up for both presentations. Additionally, you can run a 3 way rig pretty much all season long - the only change might be the live bait offerings.
Love a good three way
Great explanation on what you use and why.
Great Video Noah! I appreciate the detail and explanation of "why" .
Tight lines man!!

Great video! I used this method in stevens point when I went to school there, tons of walleye. Used the floating jig heads.

What conditions lead you to fish a 3-way rig vs. drift and vertical jig?

How do you tie multiple flies to the three way swivel
Do you live in Oak Forest?
Good video! What pound test fluorocarbon do you like?
Thank you very much! I typically use 8 to 10lb fluoro for my main line
Definitely not going to re-tie that set up 10x after snags lol
What are the GPS coordinates to that spot?
