  • Mower deck getting clogged? I've been fighting grass getting clogged and poor discharge for years on my Hustler Raptor SD zero turn. Drastic measures were taken, and this will never be a problem again!

For testing my designs, I've purposely ran the deck into a brick step, into a brick pedastal, another set of brick steps. Broken the bricks, the deck is still there, cutting to give a beautiful carpet appearance.
    I have a Raptor SD60, a Fastrak Sport42 and a Super Z60. Best cut and ride is the RSD60.
If you take the triangle out at the rear, you will enjoy your modification even more and the amount of grass carried away from the chute is amazing.
    Great video young man.

Appreciate it sir! The deck is built well for sure and its impressive how a little bar can cause such issues. Hope all is well down south!

Without bracing it back is the deck still strong

Strong till you hit a stump or something hard. But if you are careful then you're good

To be honest, based on what I have seen if you hit something hard enough to bend the deck without the support your going to have MUCH bigger issues. Thankfully the deck was fabricated using fairly heavy gauge steel.

100% agree, the deck is very stout and if you really were to hit something hard enough that you were able to successfully bend it you would likely have bigger issues since the deck is fabricated with fairly heavy steel. Thanks for stopping in!

Think it's a government safety thing. Kind of like those spill-o-matic fuel cans they sell now.

I have the same mower, and that chute design is hot garbage. I’m cutting mine in the next day or two, and I plan on welding some small angle iron on the deck to give me a little piece of mind.

Agreed, it's far from great. I honestly think once you cut off the support you'll be surprised at the residual strength. Thanks for stopping in!
