    To get a little more technical, this specific roll is called a buzz roll and you basically just hold the sticks loose and just go crazy while putting enough force into the pad to make a "buzzing" noise. There's multiple types of drums rolls such as double stroke (RRLL, LLRR) Or the single stroke (RLRL, LRLR). Hope this helps a little bit for beginners!

      Hey, it's just a drum pad. We use them to practice on for the snare drum, which is what we use on parades and rehearsals. It's also much quieter than an actual drum.
