Hi Bijan (@bijan4727)! To answer your question ... if your planer is equipped with the Katya Ironworks system, this is very easy. Lower the gantry until the DRO reads 2.375. Run all three pieces. Then lower the gantry to 2.3125. Run all three pieces again. All your pieces are now planed to 2-5/16. And no measuring was needed. Thank you for the kind words, and let us know if you have any more questions. Also check out the new woodworking products we have released since this video.
Hi very nice presentation. I have a 13 inch dewalt thickness planer. Let’s say I have three pieces of 2X4 and each one them is 2-7/16 , 2-3/8, and 2-5/16 how do I make all three of them being 2-5/16 without manually measuring them. I appreciate your input. Thanks

Thank you for the question. We make DRO retrofit kits for several different machines. Our DeWalt 735 kits do not include the Wixey WR510 DRO. Assuming you ordered part number KI735XDE, in the box is a 24 piece kit, of precision CNC machined Aerospace Grade Aluminum parts, and 18-8 Stainless Steel metric hardware. 100% Made in the USA. Woman owned small business. Hundreds of happy customers. Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions. @@JNewellworks TL-DR: The KI735X is the minimum kit you need for the system to function. The KI735X-D, and KI735X-E, are upgrades you install on top of a KI735X. And KI735X-DE is a combo that contains everything. The higher up you go the more precise the system gets, and the more beautiful/professional the installation looks. LONG STORY: When we first released this product, there was only KI735X. The KI735X was, and still is, the base kit, you need it by default for the system to function. A few years later, we found out we had overengineered KI735X so much, it starts to outlast the Wixey DROs. Most companies at this point would go the way of under-engineering the product so it costs less to make. We went the other way. Not only we kept the tank like parts, but further, we identified which Wixey parts were poorly designed and we released two upgrades to address these. The KI735X-D, and KI735X-E, are said upgrades. With KI735X-D you get two precision milled D links to replace Wixey's questionable solution consisting of thin sheet metals, springs, and foam-tape. Our D links hold the linear scale rigid in place with 6mm thick aluminum parts and stainless steel M3 bolts. After installing KI735X-D the linear scale will feel like a MACK truck. With the KI735X-E you get precision milled J links. The J links provide the 90 degree turn you need to rigidly couple the readout display to the planer's gantry using stainless steel M4 socket bolts. Wixey sends some questionable quality, flexible erector set style sheet metal parts, and some phillips screws, in an effort to fit the kit to as many different planers. We prefer parts that are custom engineered to the specific machine. After installing KI735X-E the readout feels like an M60 tank. Finally, the KI735X-DE is the combo that contains everything: the base kit, with both upgrades, all hardware, the works. This is a discounted option (cheaper than buying kits and upgrades separately). For the non-DeWalt folks reading this and wondering "what about some love for my planer", the answer is yes, we can (or perhaps already do) also custom machine a DRO mount kit for your planer too. Just ask. The only requirement is that your planer has a cast-metal body. DeWalt 735, Delta RC-33, Grizzly G0815 / G0890 / G0891, some Powermatic models are great candidates. It is not even limited to planers. We can (or did) retrofit your SawStop Cabinet, Powermatic 2244, event lathes and milling machines with DRO kits. Choose readouts and scales from as entry level as Wixey to as advanced as Newall Microsyn or SONY Magnescale. Just ask. Cheers, and Happy Halloween KI

Thanks for a quick response. It would be nice to make a video to show what you told me and explain any other capabilities of this equipment.
would really like to have you provide the calibration of the DRO in a video
Do any of the DeWalt 735 kits include the wixey??
