Hey guys! Welcome or welcome back to my channel :) TIME STAMPS BELOW!
In this video, I reveal my stats and other parts of my application that got me into Stanford and other amazing schools.
As you can see, Stanford is very holistic in reviewing all applicants. Do not be discouraged by the average stats or the acceptance rate! While I was towards the bottom in regards to test scores, I’m sure there were other admitted students with lower scores than me and definitely some with higher scores than me.

You're so encouraging!!! OMG I've been watching these "How I got into Stanford", "How I got into MIT" or "How I got into the Ivy League" and people were like "I started my own business" or "I played music in the streets to raise funds for handicapped kids" or whatever and I'm like dude, I didn't do that. So I genuinely thought I didn't have a chance to get into my dream school (MIT) but you've encouraged me with that video. You made me realize that you don't need to be a mix between Superman and Stephen Hawkins to get into good universities. You are a very inspiring person, thank you.

@@PearlieCake Don't worry! I hope you're able to get into the school you want, but keep in mind that if you don't, there are other ways of having a good job or carrier. I used to think that MIT was the only school I'd feel good in, but now that I've given up, I have found new things that I'm interested in. Two days ago, my biology teacher was explaining to me that the school doesn't do everything, it's about you: he said that he knew someone who was studying in the same small university as him, in France (that's where I live), and after his undergrad degree, he got into the best school in the country, where admissions are probably as selective as Harvard, if not more. The guy declined his place there, and kept studying in the small university, and now he is a research director with international recognition. What I'm trying to say is, if your dream is MIT or Stanford of Harvard or whichever renowned school, try your best to get in, and I hope you do. But if you don't, that's ok. When I realized I had to give up I was so sad I could have cried, but now I feel really good about it. I just wish you luck for college admissions, they're too stressful for anyone our age ☺️

I'm in 10th grade and I'm going to start school on Tuesday and I was prepared to study like it's the end of the world to get into Stanford. I guess you're right it's not the best school that defines you as a person thank you!!!

you give me HOPE! I'm a very hard worker and someone who takes initiative in all my interests/activities, and I'm overall a passionate person - but I don't have that singular thing where I took, for example, a passion in medicine and make contributions to a cure or something crazy - I have similar EC's to you as in they are community based and I hold leadership roles in all of them and the major I'm looking to apply for is Communication - so hopefully that ties together enough! Crossing fingers!

This has inspired me sooooo much! I have a really strong gpa and I’m taking rigorous classes but my sat is bad. I believed that I couldn’t get in with my 1260 but I am now actually hopeful. Thank you!

My school works the exact same way, and only like 5 of our class of 475 have GPAs over 100 😭😭😭 mine is 99.8 so I'm like 8th ranked. This video def gave me hope I admire her so much

This video is 5 years old so I know everything has changed but it is so encouraging!! On 2022 I applied as a first year international student, I didn't get, but I really wanna go to Stanford, so now on 2024 I am applying as an international transfer student, which is harder but I wanna try. If I don't get in it's fine, it is not the end of the world, but just so you know I will apply again as a graduate student. I am determined to go to Stanford. I am going to the number 1 college in my country and I am studying aerospace engineering, I did not take the SAT nor the ACT, I actually have a GPA of 3.3 or 3.5 (idk). Hope I get in but as an intl student I don't have many chance. Wish me luck!

So, I'm a college prep scholar about to apply to Yale through the nat college match (and maybe reg decision afterwards if attempt 1 fails). I was really worried about not having good enough scores just because it was Yale (29 and 33 on ACT in April and June, respectively), but something like this gives me hope that everything else I do has some weight to my application. It felt really inspiring.

I am valedictorian of my class, I have a 4.0 GPA, in almost all the clubs in my school, but the only thing that I am so worried about is my SAT. Usually when people say they do bad on their SAT they are at least in the 4 digits (In the thousands) For me that’s not the case, my SAT is really bad. It is a 970 and I want to apply to Stanford.

Being the president of a club requires a lot more skills than sitting down and getting answers correct on a standardized test. Don't focus too much on the wrong things.
nazjaa Standardized tests are the most important. Anyone can go to a grade inflated high school.
