Oh my gosh! I go to MSJC!! I've never seen a video like this where someone went to MSJC even if it was as dual enrollment!! I'm applying for transfer this fall, so seeing someone from my college being so successful is awesome. I did concurrent enrollment in high school too! Congrats!! Rooting for you and your future successes!
This video was so helpful. As someone who is planning on doing the transfer route, I was scared that it might limit my options to get into top universities. My highschool partners with my local community college to take classes and my experience so far has been wonderful. The amount of money you save simply transferring is great and a lot of times your professors teach at large name universities anyway.
i'm a student at palomar! well deserved on your admissions. i applied for fall 2025 transfer so we'll see how it goes when decisions come out in march and april.
Thank you very much! I'm currently in the process of applying, and your video has been incredibly helpful. Once again, congratulations, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
Hi Haley! Thanks so much for making this video!! Is there any chance you could also make a video going over your Stanford Essays? Congrats on the acceptance and best of luck at Stanford!
1) do you think ECs should be super related to your major? I’m taking CS too but I’m planning to do more community service type activities as that’s what I’m passionate about. 1.5) did you have CS related internships? 2) how did you start/lead a CS Club and how did you organize activities + get people to attend? (especially when most ppl in CC have jobs) 3) how to get research opportunities and how to actually be good at it? 4) what would you have done differently and what’s your advice to your younger self just starting college? thank you sm! it’s my first semester in community college and I’m trying to plan everything out 🙏
OH MY GOD. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! Your first part about information regarding this instance is scarce.. is so TRUE. Thank you again and congratulations!!! Is there any way viewers can connect with you?
thank you! I'm glad I could help fill in this little gap in youtube. I have a TikTok called horadehaley, where I have some videos up of the cc/transfer process, feel free to follow me there!
Hello! I'm an international student moving to California to attend a CC so that I can attempt to transfer to Berkeley or Stanford etc, while only paying a much lower price. Would it be possible for me to transfer to these schools within 1 year of CCC? I have some credits from A-Levels that I've done, and I want to major in Biology. But I'm just generally wondering if you know people who've transferred to these types of schools after just 1 year at a community college.
Thank you so much for this video! You’re helping and inspiring so many community college students like myself. Just some background- I’m a pre med transferring for fall 2025. I’m really striving for Stanford to continue my research study about the benefit of childhood environmental exposure on adult mental health. I also just tagged UCI through TAP a month ago. I have 2 extra questions: what did you write your personal statement essay about for Stanford? Second, which types of professors did you get your recommendation letters from? I have a bond with 2 of my stem professors and my research methods prof. I wanted to ask any of them because I think they could speak best on my behalf, but let me know your opinion if possible! Congrats on your admission to these schools, huge accomplishments!!
Hey Hayley!! I'm a first-year community college student that's looking to transfer to an ivy as well. I want to thank you for making this video as it has really helped me know what the right path for me to take is as a first year. As you were showing the schedule you had for the semesters you took at you community college I noticed that most of your classes don't necessarily consist of regular Gen eds, such as intro to bio, or communications, or classes just along those lines. Right now I'm taking classes that more align with the Gen eds most 4-year schools require you to take the first two years, but I was wondering why you were able to go straight into your major, and not have to waste time on regular gen ed classes?
You motivate me to know I have a chance to go into the top 30. I'm a junior in high school who plans to go into either a community college or a 4-year college and then transfer because my high school GPA doesn't fit the academic criteria of the schools I want to apply to. Does your GPA in high school impact the transferring process?
when you talked about your role in the CS club you started, did you mention specifics like naming the guest speakers, the events, and panels? Or did you write "organized events, including guest speakers, panels, etc." I'm not sure how specific I should go in the description. Thank you!
Hey, I have a question, I'm currently in my undergrad 3rd Semester in India. I want to transfer to a US university. I have failed a few subjects, here in India, but I have cleared all of them with A's and B's. I have strong Extracurriculars. Will colleges in the US accept me as a transfer student even if I fail a few subjects?
Hi Haley! I am also a transfer student and will apply this Fall semester. Your video is like a flashlight for me when I feel so stressed and unconfident about myself :(( I want to do more things for my own interest and for the school as well but I am just too shy and introvert sometimes :(( I just have a question, on the way that you do everything, how could you find your companions or someone that have the same interest as you? And how do you know that things you are doing are good enough to make you stand out in such a competitive major like CS? My major is also competitive (Business), so I always stress about it. Thanks Haley, and waiting for your advice 😭
1) Were any of your STEM classes online synchronous or async? 2) Does it matter what classes you have taken up till the point of applying to Stanford or just GPA? Asking bc someone could have taken less challenging classes and have a higher GPA than someone who took those challenging classes before applications and might have a lower GPA.
Hi Haley, I'm wondering if you have any advice for applying to scholarships. It's difficult to decide which ones to go after seeing as the larger ones might get more applicants.
Hi, thank you for sharing your advice! I was wondering what your approach was to transfer essays, if they're similar to approaches a high school applicant should do, thanks!
Thank you so so much for this information! I plan on transferring in two years and this gives me a lot of insight into the whole transfer process! My councilor recommended me to take math courses over the summer so that all my math would be completed by the time I submit my application, do you think this is a good idea?
I think its a good idea although not completely necessary! I had 3 major requirements in my final semester, but make sure to check each individual school for timeline requirements!
On assist, if you're college doesn't have the course needed to match a requirement it says "No Course Articulated". What do you do in this scenario? Do you find a way to take it outside of your college or do you email admissions about it. Also great video! Super inspiring.
good question! Depends on a lot but the main things are checking each individual agreement for your schools and making sure if other local cc's have it! I had many "No course articulated" and I do not think they hold it too much against you as an applicant
Hi Haley, i’m also a transfer student at CC and i’m curious did you apply under CS for Stanford or was it under a different major? cause i know CS is super competitive for Stanford so i’m just trying to know for when i apply next fall. Thanks!
Yes, I applied under CS but Stanford admits all students (including transfers) as undeclared. I think choosing a major you are interested in and that reflects your current experiences and passion is what is more important! Ik CS is super saturated right now, but don't let that stop you if that is what you are really interested in!
Omg amazing video! Honestly I was deciding on whether I should go to community college and your reaction video where you got into so many amazing schools sort of pushed me over the edge. Thank you so much! You have helped me in ways that you’ll probably never see and I hope to pay it forward someday 🫡
wow thank you for replying this! Your words really resonated with me, as I was contemplating whether even going to community college in the beginning! I'm glad my video helped with your decision. Keep helping those that you can : )

Hi, I want to know does high school matters for transfer students from community colleges
Hey Hayley!! I'm a first-year community college student that's looking to transfer to an ivy as well. I think I did an overview for what I did in the position, but did mention some larger events in my essays

honestly getting involved with clubs and programs are the best ways imo! most people will have similar goals and its a great way to socialize
