I’m so happy I got to tell Dean he was the best drummer to come out of Portland, OR even though there’s been many! This was just before he joined Journey! I would’ve said one of the best singers also but we didn’t know yet!
Inevitably he's always going to be compared to Steve Perry.... And that's a shame because you cannot sing someone else's lyrics and not be compared to.
