I recall the Sunday after a Neil’s passing, kneeling in Sunday mass with my son , praying for Neil & his family, Alex and Ged…, and this part kept playing in my head. The notes you played here, brought back the uncontrolled sobbing I experienced in that moment, for my lifelong hero had suddenly passed, and he left a huge hole in my heart and the hearts and minds of so many, I could not help but sob/cry quietly for this brilliant and most beautiful human.
RIP NEP, and thank you for your immense musical and lyrical contributions, and for your life’s example.

This is probably my fave of the epic/"proggy" Rush tracks. A wonderful playthrough, as always, but this one felt next level somehow. Well done, Joe!
I was about 16 when I first heard this around 2002. A coworker suggested Hemispheres and Farewell to Kings cds. I bought them and would blast them everywhere! None of my friends got it. Didn’t care!
Great cover of what I consider Rush at their pinnacle. And that tone, yes a proper bass, proper pedal, but no small part of that is your right hand work. Geddy attacks the strings, it's part of that tone and you have mastered it as well.
That tone is to die for! Great job on the cover!!!!

That was wild! You did an amazing job with that. I saw Rush perform that when that album came out. Starz opened for them (I think that's what their name was). It was an amazing concert for prog-rock. Cygnus followed by Hemispheres....I don't think they were ever quite as proggy again, LOL. That was one heck of a feat to play that throgh from beginning to end! You rocked it!

Hi Joe, there's no doubt you're playing is the real McCoy, it is so good, however what strikes me is the talent of Geddy Lee to come up with this in the first place not to mention that while he is playing this, he is also doing vocals, Each Rush member are genuises.

It can vary for different videos, but most of my videos here are using a Sansamp DI2112, or a Darkglass ADAM pedal

Drive is at 3 (Drive module A and B are both nice)
Character is at 5
Blend is around 8 or 9
Cabinet is an impulse of a PDI-03 that I found online melodiefabriek.com/shop/ir-03/ I’m using the “normalnormal” impulse

Who is the best? Tech 21 + helix or darkglass??
Hard to say, for me I really love the Tech21 distortion circuits. I recently experienced an apartment flood that destroyed my old desk. I didn’t have room on this temporary desk to set up my helix so I tried something different using just the DG pedal this time I think the tones were pretty nice! Live I’ve actually been running the Sansamp into the DG pedal, so there’s tons of combinations
