You're killing it. Best sawmill design and log lift I've ever seen. I'm a Arborist so I've watched thousands of videos on sawmills and wood splitters. Cant wait to see what you come up with next.
Wow I never realized how versatile the blade saws are !! My dad had a bandsaw mill and that was lots of work to get the dementional lumber you need instead of large planks . You always impress sir !!
that is a very useful sawmill Marty.I like that what you need you can build, good job Marty,if possible make more videos or make them longer.I like watching your videos

This machine is ingenious. He don't have to roll or tun the log, amazing, remarkable piece of engineering. Is there any made like this inspiring you to build your own, or did you come up with the idea?
Morning Marty. After watching many videos of you using your twin blade sawmill, I went looking for a video of you building it. Is there one? I couldn’t find it if there is one.
This is one hell of a machine! Do you have more video's of this sawmill? I'd love to know more about it! I have to subscribe after this one! Great stuff!

Nice mill. orsome that you did it your self. But i still think the Lucas mill is better. The only problem with them is side stability. They will flex if the blade is a little blunt or the wood is tough. The single blade tilting gets you back were you started. So the wood always flows in one direction.
Just a historical note from a Yank Fan: "In the U.S. - more specifically in Harvard, Massachusetts - a Shaker woman named Tabitha Babbitt is said to have also invented a circular saw entirely of her own volition and design in 1810. As legend has it, she got the idea while watching two Shaker men struggling with a pit saw."
I dont know anything about your wood but that is beautiful. The bark looks like our western red cedar but not as big. Is the wood light or heavy? Soft or hard?
Hi Marty like your mill I built one last year that uses a band saw blade I like it. I am wondering with your mill what is the widest board you can cut? I want to build a swing blade mill but might hammer together one like yours as well.
Found your channel again,(I remember seeing the rambo videos). Some amazing content put out by you. You might as well keep it up and become as successful as Andrew Camarata. Anyway, fair play to you.
Dear ADAM DAW. Marty T. is a decent man. He is already way way much better than this A. Camarata guy for sure! Because he acts responsible and not if he is alone in this wonderful world/nature. Marty T. also acts not if he is the one and only respectively very best in the world. Mr. T. does not overstrain/overstress all his tools and machines again and again. He also does no dangerous things (nearly always driving extremely overloaded for instance) in public! He can be very proud of himself. Best regards luck and health.

My builder mate is intrigued with how the vertical blade in particular cuts 'backwards', as it were. We don't see you turning the blade through 180 for the reverse cut. How does the mill achieve that?
@@MartyT Thank you. I tried it using a cordless skilsaw, and the machine just kicked back and up. I dare say the reverse-cut principle could be applied as long as there was sufficient downward force on the skilsaw, and the material was either heavy enough, or firmly clamped.
@@hughvane its quite dangerous to do that with a skill saw, they can bite. As you say you would need to have a lot of weight on it and do it very carefully

Get a patent on that sucker - people can and will steal that design if that is your original
You are an amazingly smart man. Love your channel!!!!😃
Marty, you make us regular guys look like mere mortals.
Just an observation but you appear to bring kiwi ingenuity to all new levels. Nicely done

That's the coolest idea I've ever seen when it comes to sawmills. Pure genius.
Marty you are crazy with common sense. Appears to be no waste as well. I loved watching this video! Thanks
Marty, you never cease to amaze me. Sweet lil mill. Keep up the good work.....
Amazing sawmill! Never seen anything so efficient!
You are a very clever man Marty, love watching your videos.Well Done 👍👏
Do love that milling machine of yours Marty.👍👍
You made that mill?!! Genius! Cheers!
Marty overhauled it after finding it in very well used condition...it was a porotype that had outlived it's usefulness to the original maker...
That’s some beautiful looking country.
Took that tree a made a home. Much respect and admiration.
Wished there was a video series making this. Great machine👍

That’s pretty slick!
Great job 👍
Hey Marty that's a really cool mill. Thumbs up.
Good looking sawmill, very clever figure this contraption out Marty, watch you fingers.
great saw mill!
Good little sawmill design all hydraulic driven from what I see, You should upload some more sawmill video's,

look at the Mahoe mills
That's a nice unit
Speak of the Devil lol
Geeze that track looked tight though, Nice to look back over the years and see where you were 6 years ago ay?
Love it

Very nice indeed
Would love to see how that horizontal blade is connected to the shaft.

I like what I see in the design of your mill it works very well at least on video, is there any changes you would like to make to your mill ?
Damn dude, you're a real MacGyver!
👍 best one i have seen ever!
A great machine I'd love to see a video on this setup and how you made it.

Nice machine.
This guy is a Rembrandt.
What fantastic looking wood. What is it?
Macracarpa , It is a nice timber

How do you line up shafts, gears, ball bearings, and center attachment points for wheels? That's the only part I'm struggling with mentally on this.
Great looking sawmill. How often do ya have sharpin the blades
Depends on the timber or if there's dirt in the bark, on average I will give each tooth a skim after a full days work
Brilliant !
anyone notice how he's got the same excavator as Andrew camarata a yanmar b50
Yanmar is a good machine, looks like Marty's is a bit newer than Andrew's.
He needs a thumb, though.
Good catch.

Macrocarpa, one of my favorite timbers - www.nzwood.co.nz/forestry-2/macrocarpa/
Macrocarpa’s common name is Monterey Cypress.
totally jealous seems to be nothin this fella can't do inspiring

Hi Marc, my mill cuts 10 inch by 6 inch max
Freakin brilliant
Do you heat with wood ?
Slab cut offs a ready supply
Yes I do use the off cuts for my wood stove
Awesome, really, even more for a Kiwi ;-) They always beat us up on ... uh everything? I was thinking about the same but he beat me. Good on ya mate!!
Wow 👏 nice man

My builder mate is intrigued with how the vertical blade in particular cuts 'backwards', as it were. We don't see you turning the blade through 180 for the reverse cut. How does the mill achieve that?
The blade needs to be kept sharp and I feather the throttle and travel speed when cutting backwards otherwise it can bog down and slip the belts.

ALL you to do is think outside the box.. way up there in the Mountains you half to use what u have.. Nice job, See Ya
Awesome!
Nice💪💪
never seen a home sawmill cut individual single timbers,
that is ram bros dangly bits.
How is it that you cut in both directions?
The saw blades will cut whichever way the shaft moves i.e. "backwards" or "forwards" along the log.....
I know how to make toast. I don't make toast, but I know how.
Bit worried about the dog I must admit
Might you were you so inclined cut a 10" x 10" timbre on a machine such as this? Ah, by the bye, subbed and liked.
6x10 inch x 7m long is the maximum board I can cut, I wouldn't want to have to lift anything bigger than that. Cheers for the sub and like
got any 4wd tracks on ya land? from Nelson
Just my driveway
What a saw😂😂😂😂
