This is so impressive, breaking a whole log down to manageable pieces with back and forth passess like this, I'm not sure there's a more efficient way for one person to do it safely. Exceptionally craftsmanship.
Remarkable utterly remarkable, never seen anything like it. Cuts both ways and he never has to move the log, it's revolutionary, hope you patented it Marty!!
Wow very cool. This mill looks very similar to the brand x sawmill. Only difference is the brand x mill is a swing blade not a dual blade. And yours looks like it packs more power with that super huge engine. I’d love to see a video of the ins and outs of this thing. Thanks for all your awesome videos Marty.
Love that mill. Fir is great to work with and is also great fire wood. Respectful logging is a very important part of keep forests healthy. The other option is a natural fire process. Where I live in B.C. Canada, we are seeing the results of some very poor forestry practice and have had the fires to prove it. Good on you, keep it up. Thanks for sharing.
I agree well done, fabrication, auto feed, mechanical adjustments, etchings for depth gauge, this guy thought of everything... WELL DONE Mister Marty of the Outback
Douglas fir is my favorite also. It is a native tree in the north western region of the U.S. where I'm from. Works wonderfully for framing houses and other projects.
@@JohnSmith-yv6eq That's just a scam to make me watch more of his videos John, not a rusty bean can in sight, I'm not having it I tell you, I did watch it ages ago and it is mightily impressive, so many different aspects to it, the man is a master designer and builder but so mild mannered too. Thanks for the link I'll watch it again.
Being really honest I don't know much about milling timber here in Ireland but that is one of the coolest machines I've ever seen on RUclips. Well done 👍
nice video and nice mill Marty ,I guess if you planned to a build extension on your home you could mill all the lumber you need with that mill and save many thousands of dollars and you have lots of big trees there to supply yourself and it doesn't take that many to do it, people here did it themselves with Douglas fir trees, husband and wife ,took them 2 summers working at it full-time and the first year they worked through winter and their trees were not as big as your are and all the bark they put through a chipper and used it around their yard. nice video.👍
Really great seeing your homemade saw mill at work. I've never seen one that operates like this before. I'd like to have you explain how you came up with this efficient design. Thanks for sharing both the use of it and your sustainable logging technique.
That mill looks great! I'm looking around now for a good deal on one I can restore. Pine bark beetles are taking out tons of big yellow pines around me here in the southeastern US.
Is there any chance you can make a video about how you came across this awesome saw? I love similar videos like yours but honestly your saw setup is my favorite 👍
Cool video Marty, I have seen dual blade mills before but you rarely see them here in the states as we use mostly band saw mills here. The waste from the thicker blade and the fact that you cant mill wider boards really makes them unpopular. Nice if you just need to make 2 x 4's or 2 x 6's
Marty, that's it..😃 Hey buddy I don't know what kind of mill that is but that one that cuts both ways,(vertical & horizontal cut) I could watch it ALL day long my friend!!! Ya gotta show more than 5 minutes worth Marty 😁😁😁. AWESOME VIDEO Marty 👍👍~Jay.
@@MartyT I think you need to build a SSD-cannon. Then you can shoot 500GB of data quite a distance in just a few seconds. Maybe a ropeway system also could be an option!
I hope you got a patent (or whatever your equivalent is called) on this design. I've used a lot of portable sawmills and this is pretty much better in every single way. If I were a designer for a portable mill company, I'd totally be stealing this idea right now.
👍👌👏 Oh WOW, simply fantastic! How is it possible, that this ingenious DIY saw cuts even backwards? Thanks in advance for answering. Best regards, luck and health to all of you.
Sure looks like a spin off of a Mobile Dimensions sawmill we have here in the states, maybe even the same powerhead. The MD has a gang real secondary for cutting up to 3 boards at a time each pass look them up here on RUclips very cool Mills and super high production with extreme portability
That is impressive. Can you also change over the saw to cut planks, and us tubers would like to know the layout of the saw and how it was built - there must be a story there.
hey early squad how yall doin hope yall fine tbh I was thinking like .. well I hope he's at least going out and planting some trees and then I read the description (for the first time) and.. yeah u are awesome for that note.
So THAT is how to produce quarter sawn lumber in an economical manner.
Absolutely brilliant video matey.
Not a bad office window. Love your rustic take on machinery. Simple basic and fixable kit.
The blade system reminds me of a sawmill produced in the 1970 s + I believe it was called the Mobile Dimension Sawmill Portland Oregon .
Awesome sawmill...Kudos for that piece of machinery
Very cool mill design Marty!
I’ve never seen a personal sawmill with 2 blades before, they are usually a bandsaw. This is an amazing piece of equipment. That thing is fantastic!!!
Interesting sawmill!
This is so impressive, breaking a whole log down to manageable pieces with back and forth passess like this, I'm not sure there's a more efficient way for one person to do it safely. Exceptionally craftsmanship.
Wow, newbie here, the sawmill is most impressive to be able to cut back and forth. Very efficient.
Your mill is really cool brother!
Nice work, Marty !!
WOW, this is one awsome wood mill ! Two cuts at the time. Never seen that ! Brilliant !

Very impressive rig Marty,top man.
That thing is incredible. Love you channel! Keep up the sharing. It's very inspiring.
That was really slick.
Very impressed with how good your mill works
That mill is very cool i've never seen one with two blades like that
When you have the KNOW it is brilliant to see your ideas in action
That's a beast of a sawmill! Great video. 👍👍👍
Awesome mill !
Hi, Marty. Would you mind showing "us" the lay-out and nuts n bolts of your homemade sawmill, Please.
Thanks in advance.
Sure, I can do that for you
I'm super interested as well
This sawmill needs it’s own video. It can cut in both directions, how neat.
Great suggestion, I was looking for details. Nice saw!
@@MartyT I would also like to see that

Nicely done mate, great use of the saw and being mindful about giving back to the Forest.
I didn't realize this was a home made sawmill. When I saw in a previous video, I just assumed it was a Lucas Mill. Well Done!
I agree well done, fabrication, auto feed, mechanical adjustments, etchings for depth gauge, this guy thought of everything... WELL DONE Mister Marty of the Outback
Also, it was good to see Rambro one last time in a video. I'll miss him.
I'm with Lee. I'd like to build one of those myself so a closer look at all parts would be nice.
Love your work, Marty. Thanks.
Douglas fir is my favorite also. It is a native tree in the north western region of the U.S. where I'm from. Works wonderfully for framing houses and other projects.
Nice bit of old kit that, I look forward to finding the video where you make it out of rusty bean cans 😁😁😁😁

Hello my friend This is a good job
My favourite sawmill on RUclips!
Being really honest I don't know much about milling timber here in Ireland but that is one of the coolest machines I've ever seen on RUclips. Well done 👍
The smell of that fir timber cutting must have been really nice!
Richard Redcastle hello wow 😅
Every time i see a Marty vid I learn something.....keep up the good work my friend

I didn't build it, I bought it off the guy that built it, it was in very rough condition so I had to restore it before I could use it.
Wow! Great mill! Makes my granberg look ancient.
Love your work.....
That mill is a great tool thanks for sharing
Sure did like that cold start sound , every man should have a toy like that in his backyard 😉👍👍🇺🇸
nice saw mill
That is an amazing "homemade" sawmill!
Impressed with the sawmill
Sawmill is awesome . 👍👍
Never seen a twin-blade saw mill in action.. nice!
Good job marty cheers
Nicely done 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing
Ridiculous that we need to make disclaimer comments when cutting down a tree. Keep up the good work. Enjoy you vids in Aus .
Seeing you handles freshly cut timber without gloves give me the fright of splinter
Nice job
Great looking lumber
Amazing sawmill. Also, I think that Ram with no fear watching at the gate has some honey badger in its blood.
libertyauto excavator kobelco my chnel
great video!
I had Dimension Sawmill with the same two axles/blades. Powered by a VW engine. Cut up to 2.20 meters in diameter mahogany logs.
That mill looks great! I'm looking around now for a good deal on one I can restore. Pine bark beetles are taking out tons of big yellow pines around me here in the southeastern US.
Thats a nice looking mill.
Looks like the Ram wants a part of the action :)
nothing like the smell of fresh sawn douglas fir.thats a nice lot of timber.
Hell of an interesting way of getting dimensional lumber out of a log !!!
That excavator you found and fixed just paid for itself. You must have a video somewhere on the build process of that saw mill eh :)
I bought this second hand in very rough shape before I had a yt channel, I didn't build it but had to recondition it
Wow, never seen anything like that before.
Always down for a Marty T vid
You're a lucky guy.
Quite the wonderful contraption and it’s not how you get there as long as you get the job done.
I like your mill it look like a you build that your self if so you did great job.👍
Beautiful timber mate

Douglas Fir (called oregon in Australia) isn't resistent to termites. They love it. Ask me how I know!
That sawmill is awesome dude, I thought it was a commercial product. Would be some easy money for you to draw up some plans and sell them
Shweet!
No tree shaming on this Saint Crispins day!
How do we get your sawmill design mate? 10?10!
You obviously put a lot of thought and knowledge into the build of that thing as there isn't much wastage.
