    The blade system reminds me of a sawmill produced in the 1970 s + I believe it was called the Mobile Dimension Sawmill Portland Oregon .

    I’ve never seen a personal sawmill with 2 blades before, they are usually a bandsaw. This is an amazing piece of equipment. That thing is fantastic!!!

    This is so impressive, breaking a whole log down to manageable pieces with back and forth passess like this, I'm not sure there's a more efficient way for one person to do it safely. Exceptionally craftsmanship.

    Wow very cool. This mill looks very similar to the brand x sawmill. Only difference is the brand x mill is a swing blade not a dual blade. And yours looks like it packs more power with that super huge engine. I’d love to see a video of the ins and outs of this thing. Thanks for all your awesome videos Marty.

    Love that mill. Fir is great to work with and is also great fire wood. Respectful logging is a very important part of keep forests healthy. The other option is a natural fire process. Where I live in B.C. Canada, we are seeing the results of some very poor forestry practice and have had the fires to prove it. Good on you,keep it up. Thanks for sharing.

    Douglas fir is my favorite also. It is a native tree in the north western region of the U.S. where I'm from. Works wonderfully for framing houses and other projects.

    Being really honest I don't know much about milling timber here in Ireland but that is one of the coolest machines I've ever seen on RUclips. Well done 👍

    nice video and nice mill Marty ,I guess if you planned to a build extension on your home you could mill all the lumber you need with that mill and save many thousands of dollars and you have lots of big trees there to supply yourself and it doesn't take that many to do it, people here did it themselves with Douglas fir trees, husband and wife ,took them 2 summers working at it full-time and the first year they worked through winter and their trees were not as big as your are and all the bark they put through a chipper and used it around their yard. nice video.👍

    Really great seeing your homemade saw mill at work. I've never seen one that operates like this before. I'd like to have you explain how you came up with this efficient design. Thanks for sharing both the use of it and your sustainable logging technique.

      I didn't build it, I bought it off the guy that built it, it was in very rough condition so I had to restore it before I could use it.

    I had Dimension Sawmill with the same two axles/blades. Powered by a VW engine. Cut up to 2.20 meters in diameter mahogany logs.

    That mill looks great! I'm looking around now for a good deal on one I can restore. Pine bark beetles are taking out tons of big yellow pines around me here in the southeastern US.

    Cool video Marty, I have seen dual blade mills before but you rarely see them here in the states as we use mostly band saw mills here. The waste from the thicker blade and the fact that you cant mill wider boards really makes them unpopular. Nice if you just need to make 2 x 4's or 2 x 6's

      Thanks man, My mobile data speed is very slow here so thats one of the reasons I keep the vids short, takes half a day to upload a 10 minute vid

      @@MartyT I think you need to build a SSD-cannon. Then you can shoot 500GB of data quite a distance in just a few seconds. Maybe a ropeway system also could be an option!

    I hope you got a patent (or whatever your equivalent is called) on this design. I've used a lot of portable sawmills and this is pretty much better in every single way. If I were a designer for a portable mill company, I'd totally be stealing this idea right now.

    Sure looks like a spin off of a Mobile Dimensions sawmill we have here in the states, maybe even the same powerhead. The MD has a gang real secondary for cutting up to 3 boards at a time each pass look them up here on RUclips very cool Mills and super high production with extreme portability
