In the 100 point season he wasnt training at all. He was spending all week at the hospital, up all night watching his newborn son fight for his life. And would fly in just for the game and play absolutely amazing every week. It was incredibly inspiring to see him be able to focus on football with all that was going on his his life. A credit to the PL.
The exit of David Silva, Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany, Aguero and Fernandinho signifies the end of an era. It's nice none of them left in the same season. They are being quietly eased out and new superstars like KDB, Sterling, Rodri, Bernado Silva, Jesus, Mahrez and Foden are immediately stepping up to fill the void. Very great model from Man City. Silva belongs in the modern era group of Pirlo, Iniesta, Xavi, Alonso, Scholes. All were greats of the game and world class midfielders. What really cuts them from the rest is not so much the skills they displayed on the pitch but the fact that they all had the professional approach and commitment to challenge themselves to continuously grow and become stronger and stronger in their game as they progressed onward's through their top flight careers. All became very intelligent footballers as they matured and ended up in a that WC bracket of the special few who dictate the way their teams (top sides) play around them. You don't get many players like Silva.
When Roy speaks like that about a player you know they were so very special. Possibly the best player I've ever seen live, (I haven't seen KDB live yet) in 30 years of being able to understand the game.
KDB is in conversation for being the best in the world. As great as Silva has been, he was never among top 5. For me a fit KDB is the best outfield PL player of all time behind Henry.

As a City fan, I love the guy. What is nice to see, is that he appears to be universally respected among fans of other clubs. I remember being at Maine Road and clapping Henry off after he had torn us apart (again), because as much as you hate to see your team ripped to shreds, it is impossible to ignore a great when you see it. To see someone in a City shirt command that level of respect from other fans shows just how proud Silva can be with what he has achieved in the game.
I remember watching Man City at Hull and Silva was right in front of us at the corner flag, setting up an attack on the Hull goal. Vincent Kompany had been sent off, so Man City were down to 10 men. We (Hull City) got a foot in and cleared the ball. We broke away and Jelavic or Shane Long chased a ball down to their (Man City) corner flag at the far end. A Man City player got a slide challenge in and put it out of play. It was David Silva! I couldn't believe how much ground he had covered. A side to his game that we don't really hear about. A fantastic player!
David Silva was a wonderful player even back at Valencia. They had a wonderful team back then. David Villa, Silva, Mata, Joaquin. That was on my favourite teams to be on Ps3.

As a City fan, I love the guy. What is nice to see, is that he appears to be universally respected among fans of other clubs. I remember being at Maine Road and clapping Henry off after he had torn us apart (again), because as much as you hate to see your team ripped to shreds, it is impossible to ignore a great when you see it. To see someone in a City shirt command that level of respect from other fans shows just how proud Silva can be with what he has achieved in the game.
I remember watching Man City at Hull and Silva was right in front of us at the corner flag, setting up an attack on the Hull goal. Vincent Kompany had been sent off, so Man City were down to 10 men. We (Hull City) got a foot in and cleared the ball. We broke away and Jelavic or Shane Long chased a ball down to their (Man City) corner flag at the far end. A Man City player got a slide challenge in and put it out of play. It was David Silva! I couldn't believe how much ground he had covered. A side to his game that we don't really hear about. A fantastic player!
David Silva was a wonderful player even back at Valencia. They had a wonderful team back then. David Villa, Silva, Mata, Joaquin. That was on my favourite teams to be on Ps3.

the premier league has been graced by some legends but there have been very few geniuses. Bergkamp, Cantona, Suarez, De Bruyne and David Silva are the ones I've seen in my lifetime. I'm an Arsenal fan but David Silva holds a special place in my heart. so beautiful to watch him play

Unassuming superstar. Watched him when he was at Valencia as a youngster in the same team with David Villa and Juan Mata. I used to call them the Three Musketeers. Has it really been 10 years!? Day-aam! Great, great player. And remember, when Man City bought him for a snip £25 mil he arrived as a World Cup winner. From a Spanish squad that already had the legendary Iniesta. 👍👍
