Fàbregas or Silva?
Savage or Jenas?
Fabergas
Black or White ?
Silva by miles
Bergkamp or Ronaldo?
Cesc Fabregas broke into the Invincibles team and made his debut at 16. He is one of the only few prodigies in Football that actually lived up to the hype. Special special footballer.👏
Rooney & Giggs did. But heir off field conduct means that they rarely get the respect their career warranted.
Messi?
R9 even with all the injuries
Players like fabregas was the downfall of wenger
My Favourite Player of All Time:
● Fabregas was 17 years old during virtually the entirety of his breakthrough season of 04/05 and made 33 league appearances (24 starts) in a side just off the back of winning the previous seasons league without losing a game, finished 2nd in that current campaign and won the FA Cup. Just let that sink in. Absolutely frightening 😲.
● Youngest Arsenal goalscorer:
(16 years 212 days v Wolves Dec 2003)
Youngest Arsenal goalscorer in League:
(17 years 113 days v Blackburn Aug 2004)
Youngest Arsenal goalscorer in Europe:
(17 years 217 days v Rosenborg Dec 2004)
● Only he and Evan Ferguson have 10+ goals/assists to their names as 18 year olds in the Premier League era who weren't from England. Had to get that one in as an Irishman 😄.
● Statistics show that in the five years prior to Fàbregas's departure from Arsenal, Fàbregas created 466 goal-scoring chances, made 86 assists and scored 48 goals, all three statistics topping those of new teammates Xavi and Andrés Iniesta, despite both having made more appearances in the same period.
● 09/10 League Season: Apps: 27
Goals: 15
Assists: 15
Who knows what numbers he would have finished with that season if he'd avoided a few niggling injuries during the first half of that campaign and not fractured his leg to Barca in March and been ruled out for the remainder of the season. I've no doubt that he would have comfortably broken the record of 20 assists in a PL season and in all likelihood would have 20+ League goals to his name alongside it. All from CM at 22 years of age in his second season as club captain as well it's worth noting.
● All time leader in history of assists for Spanish national team.
● Most assists as a CM in the 21st century ahead of the likes of Lampard, Gerrard, Iniesta & Xavi.
● Only player in PL era to record 10+ assists in 6 separate seasons.
● 2nd All Time Leader in assists in PL history to Ryan Giggs, who spent 9 and a half more seasons than him in the PL .
● Made captain of Arsenal at the tender age of 21 as well. He was absolute magic.
David Silva... He was like a kite on the pitch, very smooth player... He had this calmness in bursting moments
Blowing aimlessly around and then falling in a tangle?
Fk off 😂 when have you heard of a top level Spaniard not having played at Real Madrid and Barcelona. Means they weren’t at that level.
@@craigchristian344 obviously never watched him play
A bit strung out??
Fàbregas's 2009/10 season is one of the most impressive seasons individually by any player in the Premier League era but unfortunately goes under the radar of the general footballing public because of the fact that ultimately, Arsenal didn't win anything & that he spent a substantial period of that season nursing injuries.
Fabregas was truly immense for us that season. He registered 15 goals & 13 assists over 2190 total minutes played, which equates to 24.33 games during that league campaign. He literally averaged a goal or an assist every 78 minutes in the Prem. He would have been well on his way to hitting 20 goals/20 assists & becoming only the second player to do so in Prem history after Henry had he stayed injury free.
He was only 22 years old as well throughout the entirety of that season while serving as club captain. The hype around this guy would be off the scale if he was coming through in today's game. A prodigy in the truest sense of the word.
His injury that ruled him out for the run in absolutey killed us that season. We were only 3 points off of the top with 5 games to go or something like that until we lost 3 of our last 5 games to well & truly extinguish any title hopes. He surely would have been a shoe in for all of the Player of the Season awards domestically had he stayed fit. Missed him big time.
David Silva still doing the business at 37!
Just signed new contract too. Beast
Great player but never been on fabregas levels, silva more longevity but not talent
Wish he was still at City special special player. Never relied on pace his ability was unreal

Fab was more direct, always looking to make the killer pass, whereas silver had more ability to control and glide. Two different type of midfielder. Both very good.
The answer is David Silva btw
More ability to control and glide is a perfect description of fabregas. The way I look at it, silva is a 10 and a great one at that but he is limited in the roles he can fulfill. Fabregas played 10, 8 and 6 across his career each to a ridiculously high level. He glided through teams as a 10 and an 8 and as a 6 for Chelsea as a seep lying playmaker he just set the tempo and created stunning goals with 40 yard passes spraying left and right. He was outrageous and because of their similar ability but fabregas' additional flexibility I'd edge him over silva.
@@benmackay3573 You do realise Silva is the best Spanish player to ever play in England, right? 4th highest goal scorer I'm Spain's NT and was pivotal to their success in the 2010 WC win and their 2012 Euros win

I’m biased as a long standing season ticket holder at City. What I will say is in all the games I saw Silva play for us, I reckon you could count the amount of bad games he had for us on one hand.
Even in some games against prime Barca and Madrid, he often looked better than everyone on the pitch (maybe not Messi). He even got MOTM in a game Ronaldo was playing in, in Ronaldo’s prime.
Fabregas was a premier league great too though.

Fabregas was a one man team. He could win you games single handedly at a certain point in his career. He and Wayne Rooney were natural from so young.
The answer is David Silva btw
Do one Wayne Rooney lmao
As an arsenal fan, lifelong, its Silva. Cesc could not win us games on his own but cold definitely find the slimmest of lanes. Silva could see the opportunity that could be and would work in the smallest pockets of space to create those lanes and then execute on them.
@matteuspittmann2720 You're obviously forgetting the 3-0 win over Villa on 27 December 2009. Wasn't fit to start, came on in 57th minute with game at 0-0, scored a beauty of a free kick from 25 yards or so which he curled into the top corner, scored the second goal less than 10 minutes from the end & had to be substituted a short time afterwards after injuring himself in the process of scoring that goal. Look it up. So much receny bias in these kinds of debates whenever these comparisons are made. He was only 22 at the time as well.

Silva achieved more with his club but Fabregas was the best player in Arsenal for a good few years, I'm not sure if Silva was his team's best player even once? First it was Kompany and Toure and Hart and later it was Aguero and De Bruyne and Sterling, City was always stacked with talent since they were bought by Abu Dhabi of course they were gonna win more titles.
Also different player, Silva was always dangerous from the flank but Fabregas dominated games from the middle and is literally one of the best passers football has ever seen, in addition to being a good scorer.
As a City fan ye he was our best player. He was the one setting up Kun soo that takes it for me. Watching City tho, Silva best attribute was the way he dictated games all over the pitch, where as cesc was more central. Silva probably has twice as much skill also not to mention his tight dribbling. They had identical careers but the fact silver dictated games way more takes the cake for me. If Silva was out we was naked. Nothing would tick and he also NEVER dropped form. Started week in week out for years, not to mention he carried a Souless Timid City to wear we are today, where as Henry more did that for Arsenal. Silva Carried a way heavier load and played with abit more style. For me he takes it then if nothing else separates them.

Nice one Dion 👍🏽
Cesc was carrying Arsenal from pretty much 16 years old. If Arsenal had of built a proper team around him he would have been even better numbers wise. Cesc was stuck with some shocking players like Denilson

David Silva was class but Fabregas for me. Fabregas could play deep, box-to-box, no.10. He could do a solo run and score a goal; he could do freekicks, he could carry a team as a captain, he could do the dirty work - on top of being a playmaker equally as gifted as David Silva.

Mica loves using the word 'burst' doesn't he?
David Silva. He was so underrated.
Underrated by who? Man literally has a statue outside his teams ground
Stop using “underrated” on players who everyone clearly rated
@@mr__OK Bro you gotta be living under a rock to say David Silva was fairly rated when he was playing at Man City. He wasn't given enough credit. Most of the credit went to the likes of Aguero etc. I mean just look at 2017/18 David Silva, no one was talking about him much.
I think you are only just saying that AFTER David Silva got his statue and recognition but not before that. That was why I said 'was so underrated.' Like dude, before you say some trash like that I recommend you read 3 times before you reply to stuff you clearly don't understand the context behind.
@@As-iy2ki what r u talking about. Everyone use to rate him. He literally got in team of season so many times. Just cause people spoke more about aguero doesn’t mean he wasn’t “rated” . He wasn’t even voted too 10 foreign players of all time.
@@mr__OK Team of the season? Are you seriously gonna use Fifa and TOTS to justify your point? David Silva just got overlooked a lot. I mean when we talk of the top 5 foreign greatest midfielders of all time in the prem, David Silva doesn't really get that much of a shout.
Also, it is easy to say that after he left Man City. There weren't a lot of people talking about him during his time at City. I mean he is a big-name player and a legend. So why wouldn't people be talking about him a lot compared to other greats like Gerrard etc?
That sounds like Silva wasn't given enough credit which he deserved. I mean he is like that guy who does all the hard work but doesn't get enough recognition for it at the time. Kinda like in a team (office related), the person who does the work makes success possible but it is the team leader who gets all the recognition for the team's success.
@@mr__OK You know what I think you are just a rival fan and just wanna keep David Silva's legacy the way it is. Not getting enough credit. Also, that statute was issued by Man City and not by the Premier League. David Silva doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves overall (not by the club but by the Premier League and other rival teams in the EPL or from other leagues).
Silvas longevity and consistency makes him the easy choice, although at the peak of their powers I certainly couldnt say who is definitively better.

David. was so intelligent and in a second he was gone. Nobody to touch him
FAbregas at Arsenal was insane from a very early age,,, Silva is good at close ball control, short passes,,, Fabregas on the other hand is quite great at long range ball distribution, defensive splitting passes, higher football IQ,,, he could also win games single handedly,,, silva however was more physically agile in my opinion,,,, if pushed for a choice FAbregas is better of the two.

● 09/10 League Season: Apps: 27
Goals: 15

People forget how good Fab was and they also don’t give him enough credit for his spell with Chelsea , that Fabregas Costa partnership was immense in our title winning campaign
His 2009/10 season is one of the most impressive seasons individually by any player in the Premier League era but unfortunately goes under the radar of the general footballing public because of the fact that ultimately, Arsenal didn't win anything & that he spent a substantial period of that season nursing injuries.

Fabregas could fit and play in any team system...Silva only worked for possession based sides. Proof, Fabregas won the prem with Conte and Jose very defensive managers while also flourished for Spain Barca and Arsenal very possession based teams. Fab takes this easy!

I can understand an argument for Silva if you think he's better but how can you use longevity when Fabregas played 350 games for PL sides to Silva's 309.

With due respect, Fabregas was bossing the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, and Liverpool at the age of 19. His move to Barcelona didn't turn out particularly great in the end, and I think it was to the detriment of the team as they had to shift Iniesta out wide. As much as I respect Silva a lot, I don't think he was anything special between 2015-2017. He changed his game a little after 2017, and for the better of Man City
Both brilliant but david silva for me was different gravy he was untouchsble in those pockets
Cesc Fabregas all day long. More assists(+15 more) than Silva, though Silva had more goals(only by a few) Cesc shone for 2 clubs and he also carried Arsenal at some point alongside RvP.

@@oisin5684 doesn't lace David's boots any football will say that.
@DINKL8ERG Doubt it. There's more than enough people of the opinion in this comment section that Fabregas was the better player if you scroll through.
Regardless, it's a matter of opinion & the two players, while both creative playmakers played two completely separate roles in their careers, so the comparison isn't even relevant on that reasoning.
@DINKL8ERG Whatever arguemet people want to use in this debate to make a case for either player, it doesn't take away from the facts of the matter regarding the efficiency & productivity output that Cesc had in that mind-boggling season over 14 years ago & at such a young age.
One thing I will say that David Silva had going for him that Cesc didn't have when he broke through at Arsenal, was joining a side at the right time that was just taking their first steps into becoming a force in the league & was flexing their financial muscle by recruiting top level players for big money. The complete opposite was occurring at Arsenal once Fabregas began becoming a first team regular during his best years in the Prem imo, where we were having to sell our best players & replace them with relatively unknown young players from around Europe for modest transfer fees in order to pay off the debt of the new stadium while trying to remain competitive.
Circumstances & convenience of timing certainly favoured Silva. That can't be argued. Still doesn't take away from the individual brilliance of Cesc, though.
