The upside down card you can sometimes use your heat gun from the back to loosen the glue tape and foam, then just turn and stick back down. I have heard some people say they use dental floss and run it between the layers to release it.
Whenever I glue my front on upside down I do as you did, just cut the back off. But, instead of gluing it to another card; I score the cut off section down about a half inch and then glue just that half inch portion onto the front making it a tent fold card. No wasted paper. Voila!
Thank you Kindly for this tutorial. I know I do “ooopsies” frequently, and knowing even someone as skilled as you makes mistakes makes me feel less hopeless. As a viewer watching all the perfect crafting videos it makes me feel like a big failure and sometimes I consider giving up.
Do you realize, going back in memory, how much paper we wasted, how much frustration we went through, and how many times we stamped and restamped cards with acrylic blocks because our images were not perfect ? Thank God for the stamp positioning tools. Hallelujah !!!
Thank you. I recently found your channel and I am enjoying catching up. Up-side down is sometimes a problem for me, so cutting and placing on a new base happens occasionally. I would like to add that when I first started stamping I 😇received wise advice from a friend - Before you buy any stamping blocks buy a stamp positioner, so that you can have instant success. I have been stamping for 5 or 6 years and still only have two small blocks but my stamp positioner is used every day. Thank you again for all your videos
Welcome to MY world!! Discovered that by using a "mouse pad" underneath old-fashioned wood-mounted background stamps helps to get a good impression. Also a Memento black dual marker can be invaluable to fix one or two little spots. Thanks for being so real!!
💚 The Misti was the first stamp aid I bought when I began using stamps ! I did not trust myself to re-stamp correctly ! But, I kinda like the double stamped image creating a shadow ! 💕 Love your videos. Keep teaching ! 🙋 Nana in se OK usa
Guilty of most of it, love the fixit’s -my panels upside down? Huh! Was just testing ya, that’s what new card bases are for lol Loved your video, Thank you and the last one? I’m still laughing 🤣😂xx😁🧡
So, very helpful tips, but I thought this was going to be a video for fixing the mistakes, not preventing them. But thank you! I did appreciate the 2 repairs you did show in this video as well as the info on how not to make mistakes, esp. the ink smudged one. I never seem to get all the ink off. I will have to try that next time.
Mistakes are alot of work, aren't they?? I come from the "never give up, never surrender" school of crafting! Who hasn't spent more time salvaging than just starting over? I've got to remind myself it's only paper, but it's my "valuable" time and effort I guess I can't get over. Take care and stay safe! Would you consider collaborating on something? I think it would be a lot of fun!
Guilty of not washing my stamps, so annoying and yes I have had fingerprint smudges in pristine paper. The back side of lots of my pieces is often smudged or splodged. I’m just a messy crafter!
I have 2 lol the I can't wait for it to dry and the upside-down panel lol I made a birthday card for someone realized it was upside down and I wanted to give up and throw my stuff out ya I become a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my crafts
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Some of the fixes are just using preventative measures. The rest are, how should I put, cover ups. Good video and wise advice from experience. I am new to cardmaking. Was making a birthday card. I had to glue a cake stand onto the card and then a cake on the stand. Oops! Too late! I glued the cake stand upside down. My wife suggested that I just leave it.
Which one resonates with me?? All of them at one time or other...lol Mu stamp positioner has eliminated the partial stamping for me but the others..... Thanks so much for sharing!!
Around 2.40 "I don't use it because I don't cook". Still laughing! Great little video though, thank you for posting and I wish you well in art and in life.
Biggest mistake I have made was being in a hurry to clean up and in putting the top back on a red ink pad, I dropped it and it landed ink side down on my beautiful card front. There was no way to cover that one up.
Great tips... Yes, I've done most of these... I actually did a couple upside down and backwards cards on purpose for grandkids for April fool's day.... Lol
Any tricks out there for when I attach the front of the card on the base crookedly, please? I almost never can get things lined up straight! Thank you!
HA! I do that often. Usually I just cut it down and reapply it to a new card base! And if its still crooked I trim the card base itself to make it look not crooked....
Me too! So I've got a bookshelf dedicated to weighing down the warped cards. I use 2 pieces of wax paper to put the card between then 3 heavy books on top overnight and the card is flat again. I've seen some videos where they lightly spray the card but I think that might mess up the ink etc. Good luck!
I have the worst time with the two sided sticky tape it stops working a third of the way in what am I doing it wrong????? It gets pulled out or it stops running...
I liked the tip about using the xacto knife to get rid of the little smudge!
thanks for the tips. I use an emery board to remove stray ink from cardstock. Works great
Good idea Karen!

I've made every single one of these mistakes, thank you for the advice.
I’ve figured out many of these along the way. Wish I had seen this years ago. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my MISTI.
So glad to catch you. I’m always putting panels or sentiments on crooked. ☹️
It's sooo good to see that I'm not alone!
Just made one on a live yesterday! Adhered panel upside down!

Super cool tips
Yesterday I put upside down the card

Excellent tips! YES!
Yeah, the upside down card was always a big one for me, forgetting the embossing buddy & ink smudges, I repeat them often, 😂!
💚 The Misti was the first stamp aid I bought when I began using stamps ! I did not trust myself to re-stamp correctly ! But, I kinda like the double stamped image creating a shadow !
💕 Love your videos. Keep teaching !

Buy some "Undu" - great adhesive remover. Safe on photos and archival! That's my saving grace for upside downs, for wrong spots, etc
Upside down queen here..lol. I used to fix them but then I thought, nah. It will give someone a good chuckle for the day. LOL.
Ugh! Thanks for this video. I will use your advice often sadly lol! Nice to know I'm not the only one who makes oopsies.
Thank you for this video . I have made every mistake you have shown . Now I have some fixes and less frustreation !
You are welcome!
Guilty of most of it, love the fixit’s -my panels upside down? Huh! Was just testing ya, that’s what new card bases are for lol Loved your video, Thank you and the last one? I’m still laughing 🤣😂xx😁🧡
Love this, Laurel! I've definitely done 9 out of 10 of these. 😏😂

Some of the ways do show how to fix them (like the xacto knife and ink smudge, etc)
@@LaurelBeard I did see that after and edited my comments. Thank you, I do appreciate your video even though it sounded like I didn't.
No worries. I just wanted to explain. I probably couldn’t have reworded my title as it address both fixing and avoiding. Oh well lol
@@LaurelBeard I get it. It's all good info and reminders which I never need...cough cough...lol
Thank you for sharing your videos

Ink smudges-love the sand eraser!
Great tips. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Do I win the prize? hahaha! 🤪 I am guilty of each of those mistakes at one time or another, and sometimes on one project! Thanks for your tips!
Yup, got these solved now I can invent some more.
lol
I forget to use the embossing buddy. That bugs me the most.
I use corn starch in muslin and I am usually reminded that I forgot it when I end up with a constellation of embossing powder around my image.
Great tips!!! Thanks for sharing. Stay self /stay well!!!
GREAT video Laurel! I fix my upside down cards the same way too. Sadly, I can say I've made ALL those mistakes....lol! 😆😆😘
Thanks for tips. Use sand eraser for ink smudges.
Thanks for the tips, I have made some of those mistakes and it is good to know how to correct those
I have got ink smudges on my cards :( or upside down or forgot to use my embossing pad.:( ....I'm learning 😊🌹🌻 love your videos!!

HAHA, leave it. It shows character! :)
The upside down front panel on the cardbase is my mistake #1!!

Mu stamp positioner has eliminated the partial stamping for me but the others.....
Thanks so much for sharing!!
All of the above for me too really....
Upside down... the other flowers reminded me of Foreigner’s “Double Vision”
Around 2.40 "I don't use it because I don't cook". Still laughing! Great little video though, thank you for posting and I wish you well in art and in life.
HAHAHAH! So truth. Corn starch for cooking? As if.... HAHAAHA
I LOVE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR.🙂
What about a stamp positioner for stamping on a journal page?
I do the upside panel often as well!!!
lol!
Thank you,excellent tips. ❤️
Yup, made all of them! Fun video.
Awesome ideas thank you

Oye!
I have to go into work. Hopefully no germy coworkers will breathe on me. If I don’t catch you live, I’ll catch the replay. ❤️
See you live or on the replay! :)
Great tips...

Ink marks on the card front. Need to cover up with sentiment or something else!!!

Whst about India ink or archival cleaning off stamps and hands?
Warped paper is my nemesis!

I've seen some videos where they lightly spray the card but I think that might mess up the ink etc. Good luck!
Don’t use any product with rubbing alcohol to clean your stamps with.
U R such a FUN person
Left-handed. Everything has to be dry. I keep a bottle of distilled water at hand, especially when stamping. 😁
Both of my kids are left handed. My husband is left handed. I am right handed... Smart tip keeping that water handy.
Sequins cover a bunch of my oops 😬 moments!!
Could you please share who makes the "day was going so great..." stamp? I'd love to get one of those. Thank you for the great tips!
:) Here you go. ldli.co/e/4e353r
I am always putting my cards upside down! LOL
the glue, I would like to try it
I have the worst time with the two sided sticky tape it stops working a third of the way in what am I doing it wrong????? It gets pulled out or it stops running...
Yes, that's why I made the change to liquid glue!
Who hasn’t stuck something on upside down?!? 😂 I think I have made every mistake in this video… ❤
all of them!
What do you use to clean your surface?
water and a micro fiber cloth most times. For a deep clean, the magic eraser.
Nice
Can we say all of the above! 🤗
LOL! Thanks Debbie!
All of them! Lol
Holy cow, which ONE resonates with me? Hahahahhahaahhahahhahahaha!!!!!
hahahah
Upside down and smears
