A BIG tip for storing cardstock is to keep it away from light and dust. Cardstock will fade all along the edges on exposed shelving.

It’s best to use gsm as a way to measure even in the US. A cardstock can say 200 lb and be super lightweight. So gsm is the best way to judge.
