- A Senate investigating committee's real-life (and widely publicized) probe into organized crime in Portland, Oregon, sparked this hard-hitting drama with Edward Binns as a tavern owner who finds himself--and his family--caught in the battle between rival gang lords. Frank Gorshin, "The Riddler" to TV's Batman, has a you'll-have-to-see-it-to-believe-it scene attempting to rape Binns' teen daughter!
Cast: Ed Binns, Carolyn Craig, Virginia Gregg, Larry Dobkin, Frank Gorshin, Joe Marr
Director: Harold D. Schuster

Time for a sweep of portland again!!! Crime and vice are back in, this time with the approval of our politicians.
Update;Portland is destroyed.😜😜😜
Do you live here?
I grew up on Mt Tabor Park. Benson Tech Graduate. My dad worked KGAL Radio in Lebanon Oregon and KOIN TV Radio in Portland. My dad was the last Organist for the Oriental Theatre. My last memories of the Oriental were a diesel generator for power running up on the center of the balcony with one the large wall mounted Elephant laying face up near the balcony main entrance. I was the last person to ever be in the large, beautiful theatre. A disaster for the City of Portland which turned down an offer of only 500,000 dollars to buy the 3300-seat theatre, the largest at the time on the West Coast. The Wurlitzer Pipe Organ and lift were worth that price alone. After this stupid act by Portland, the City went downhill and never recovered. TRUMP 24
@@kalanisplashPortland got worse when Trump was President now it’s better. I think you just need a fascist in office because democracy is too messy for you.
Interesting portrayal of Portland. If this movie were filmed today, it would be in the horror genre with the antifa protesters😂😂😂😂
Pinball obviously paved the way to the Portland's demise 50 years later lol
This comment is gold 🥇
At least it's not Dallas
However, a "pinball" machine in a desert bar was Bugsy Segal's impetus for Las Vegas, Nevada.
Protest in Portland now isn’t quite as polite as it was in 1957 is it? The times they are a changin…
For the worse! 3rd world Country here we come!
I always get a kick out of the narration at the end of how the good guy won and the underworld has now been defeated. That it won't every happen again. LOL
Organized crime was destroyed when the U.S. govt. adapted the tactics of The Mob. DHS is a protection racket, no?😈
That small tape "spy" tape recorder is a "Midigetape 44". I got to play around with a working one a long time ago. It had a fairly well designed amplifier that used three sub-miniature vacuum tubes (not transistors) and was actually capable of decent sound, and it was a pretty well made & rugged mini-recorder in its day. Unfortunately, the custom 30volt battery & tape cartridges are impossible to get now, so if you have or find one of these, about the only thing you can do with it is use it for a doorstop.
Thanks for the details. It's cool to find someone who lived those days and recognized the props.
Mini tubes! Who knew.
Jeanne Carmen: Marilyn Monroe’s former roommate, and the queen of B movies. What a dish!
More like a potato casserole.

That was a top story very different Ald fashioned plot and true life action thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing💕
Wasn't Frank Gorshin the guy who used to do the impersonations? He was quite good. Edward Binns was in, " Twelve Angry Men."
Nice shot of a Rose City Transit Twin Coach bus at 4:35. I was in Portland, Oregon once many years ago. Who back then could have imagined that some day Portland would have a modern streetcar system. Portland is just one of many cities where streetcars are coming back.
He (Gorshen) was also in the [hysterical]DISNEY™ movie THAT DARN CAT
Gorshin’s impersonation of Gregory Peck was spot-on. But most remember Gorshin as The Riddler in1960’s TV Batman.
Frank Gorshin and David Jansen Starred in Ring of Fire 1961. Filmed on location just 50 miles West in Vernonia Oregon. My dad driving his Black 57 Ford can be seen in the evacuation scene. TRUMP 24
The man's wife is quite.....handsome. Oooof.
Lol😹
Apparently she had no self delusions. She’s quoted as saying: “When casting people have a call for a woman who looks like the wrath of God, I'm notified.”😂
just as her husband! 😂
But their daughter was so cute.
Is Dame Mae Fishman in this one?
Captain Binghamton. Or whatever his name was.
sound too low
I remember the PinBall rackets. So much pressure from mafia thugs . Property damage, murders etc. they were so desperate for that money and so many suffered at their hands. Came swift and hard. As bad as it was it was better than today’s uncivilized society. Won’t be long and this country will become a third world country. People just refuse to wake up. Poor parenting, poor schools were doomed by our youth. Good for nothing!
To many commercials. Unwatchable.
TOO
Not a bad movie. Not a particularly good one either.
At 44:30, a 1957 T-bird appears. Sweet car.
No honest police in that town, the pickets are on private property.
Frank Gorshin!
I first saw Carolyn Craig (the daughter) in "House on Haunted Hill" starring Vincent Price.
Why a colored thumbnail and movie in black white? Clickbaith!
