Lovely film, thank you. It’s wonderful that over 76 years later we are still being entertained watching their film! Adele Mara died in 2010 and Warren Douglas in 1997.
Well.. Another classic movie... Great
Oh boy, Ed Gargan and William Frawley, two of my favorites
Who couldn't like this movie. All the details fit so neatly as the plot moved along at a very charming clip. Better than a lot of 'A' movies.
I agree. A fun movie and Adele Mara was always good in these forties movies.
Agreed.
Sorry, I thought it was dopey.

not MY OPINION
LOVE IT ♥️
@@jacquelinejanz5792 Don't worry our Barry didn't have any sugar in his coffee ☕ this morning
Nice flick from the days when the Fox, or Paramount, theater showed a short before the main feature. Thanks CCC.
Brilliant, thank you CCC!
Johnny & his Honney cooked up a strange murder mystery, Inner circle did have me going in circles!!👍👏👏
Great movie enjoyed watching it, Thank you sirs!👍👍🤝🙏
Almost like watching Dragnet, very clever and well done.
This movie is a true gem!
Agreed
Thank you! Loved this old film!
Enjoyable film. I was surprised to see William Frawley as Det. Lt. Webb. I can remember him on I Love Lucy and My Three Sons. Thanks for posting and be safe 🙏
My Three Sons was William Demarest, another memorable character actor with a gruff persona, craggy face and voice to match.
@@michaelfitzgerald3467 Actually, Mike Curtis is correct. My Three Sons began with William Frawley in the cast. Frawley was later replaced by Demarest due to declining health.
Bill Frawley was on My Three Sons from 1960-1965, he retired from show business in 1965 due to poor health. He died in 1966. He was in Vaudeville, and had several roles on Broadway and was a very successful movie actor well before the I Love Lucy show as Fred Mertz. He made 117 movies. His career was from 1914 to 1965.
Not a bad little B flick. Will Wright was one of the more recognizable faces here, along with Frawley and Cortez. But the script itself had some nice twists and turns along the way, and just enough humor to keep things humming.
I have always enjoyed Cortez
The hokie ending dropped the "noir value" a few notches.
I love William "Bill" Frawley. He was in a bunch of these movies before "I Love Lucy". When I saw him in this movie, I knew I had to watch it.
What a smooth clever story just when you think you have seen the best up Poops another one sure was a great story and cast ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

A good B-roll flick. Intriguing from the start and edited well moving just right. Great characters here too so it adds up. Worth a look.
Agreed.
This movie was excellent and much better than many I've seen

Phenomenal thank you
Thank you!!
Love! Love! Love! these b&w.
More! Please!! Thank you! 💕💕💕💕
kinda cute, in its peculiar and particular way. William Frawley is always fun and provided the best acting, which is himself as himself. it says in the heading film noir parody, and is pretty good in its intention.
So true to form
2nd time watching it. Great movie! I just shared it with my retired police detective brother.
I'll bet he wishes he could have used the snappy lines and wisecracks the cops used in the old movies. "Listen sister, these handcuffs are the only bracelets you'll be wearing. " Stuff like that.
So did he like the flick?
@@jacquelinejanz8466 yes!
🌹Excellent, interesting, funny, & entertaining.🌹Oh, great Cast💯💫👈
Intriguing movie. Virginia Christine played Mrs. Olson, I believe it was Folgers coffee commercials, in the late 1960s-1970s. Mesa, AZ May 8, 2023
Entretenida pese a lo enredada😅😢gracias por compartir tus películas 🎥 😮éxitos en todos vuestros proyectos y planes
Pee-wee: There's a lotta things about me you don't know anything about, Dottie. Things you wouldn't understand. Things you couldn't understand. Things you shouldn't understand.
Dottie: I don't understand.
Pee-wee: You don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel. So long, Dott.
Simone: Do you have any dreams?
Pee-wee: Yeah, I'm all alone. I'm rolling a big doughnut and this snake wearing a vest...
Pee wees big adventure movie 🙃

If this weren't made in 1946 it would have made a great pilot for a real successful TV series. Great Flick

Adele Mara! Hubba Hubba!
Hello, this is Johnny Strange of Action Incorporated. No, not Strange Action Incorporated. Johnny Strange *of* Action Incorporated. 😂😂
Well made
Right off the bat at 1:57 I realized this movie was filmed sometime before the EEOC was created 😂
I laughed so hard when the cop handled the gun and then the phone, I guess they don't care about fingerprints!
Enjoyed.
How amusing! This nailed all the cliches. So as soon as film noirs started being made, they were being sent up.
Nice try
I have netflix, if not for my adult children who use the account, I would have canceled the subscription. Whenever I try to watch a movie there is nudity and foul language and unnecessary violence. I just grew tired of all that
I really enjoyed the film! It was a hoot and a great parody. It had all the elements of film noir, with quirky humor and great acting. Interesting to see William Frawley in a 'serious' role. Where's Ethel? 🙂
Such a great c movie !!
Blonde with skin you love to touch and a heart you cant
Forget it: It's Chinatown.
surprising me, great movie, great characters if anything the ending with radio drama seemed odd.
Imagine putting music to an
old outdated insignificant film that looks like an old 8 mm negative with sound reminiscent of fingers on a blackboard with a plot just as chilling
Fred Mertz took early retirement from the police force, cashed in his pension and bought an apartment building. He never did mention his time on the force.
In this movie Frawley has quick speed question and comment.
By the time "Lucy" came around, booze was a problem. All the other actors and film staff noticed it.
😆🤣😂
@@sirholmes63 glad you got the yoke !!!!
THIS is a great flick. It's a fun story, especially the sub captions (the one writing them must have about a 3rd grade education, really dumb). Take and look and read the bottom lines. This screenplay is worthy of a contemporary re-make. Thanks for posting.
No need to be condescending about the subtitle writing. Have you bothered to research just how that is done and the impossible circumstances of doing it? And, right away you want a remake. Why bother watching.
🔵I HAD FORGOTTEN HOW THE MOVIE ENDED SO I HAD TO SEE IT AGAIN.🔴
For a parody, it was pretty good.
$40 a week....let that hit home.....
A Corvette was $15 and you got change back!
I was having a really good time till the last scene ruined it.
I agree. A shame about the silly radio enactment scene. It had generally played according to the rules before that.
I’ll be careful to avoid the last scene
Agreed. The last five minutes was LAME....Zero imagination.
Rhoda Roberts a/k/a Mrs. Olsen sold Folger's coffee in Mr. Boggs' a/k/a Mr. Weaver's department store in Mayberry.

They absolutely dont make them like they use to, sexism and all lol. 👍 The actors were way more unique, not so stereotyped like now..Thankfully, we've preserved these great films-so we can just skip the 80's, 90's 2000-to now.

This uploader always blocks out the ending while it's still playing the movie you need to learn how to do movies correctly if you want people to enjoy these classic movies and you're not doing them Justice by shoving your suggestions, people can look in your playlist they don't need you to advertise over a movie that is playing
Virginia Christine was one hot number. Ricardo Cortez was getting long in the tooth.
Slightly screwball sleuther. Not a noir; bit of a parody of one.
Enter the world's worst police detective. He's been in the place less than a minute and already contaminated any fingerprint evidence on the gun and the telephone. Doesn't wonder why the bloke's got a bruise like an egg on the back of his skull? Wouldn't pay him in washers!
"the inner circle" "pureflix" mythology ad. Miracles work when they're scripted. Now make a movie for "unraping" children by priests instead of dead birds coming back to life.
Silly plot
This was almost as bad as “Mars needs Women”
