- Secret Service Investigator (1948) Crime film full length. Fans of crime noir movies should enjoy Lloyd Bridges and George Zucco in this 1940's crime noir film about a man recruited into the Secret Service to help solve a case against a gang of criminal counterfeiters. - Broken Trout -
Lloyd Bridges married his wife Dorothy in 1938. They stayed together for 60 years till his death in 98. Dorothy died in 2009. They had 4 children
I admire such love stories that survive life’s turbulences and problems
He must belong to the 2 % of Hollywood actors who didn't marry at least 3 times.

Lloyd Bridges was a superb actor.. serious or funny. . Thanks BT! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
No doubt Samie, thanks for checking it out @Samie Shoestring
I think superb might be stretching it a bit. He sure knew how to fight off a shark with a knife though.
@@davidhull1481 to each their own. 😊 I always enjoyed his acting.
@@dee-lf4kf There’s a big difference between an actor being superb and “enjoying” his acting. No need to hype his skills. Decent actor, and by all reports a good father.
1:35 intro to his character's sense of humour; very subtle acting!
Excellent story and acting!
15:40 Looks Like i picked the wrong week to work for uncle sam.
Didn't bother to mention the sniffing glue business, eh?
EVERYONE who works for Uncle Sam eventually ends up sniffing glue!
That's funny!
Full credit for this one. A nice little yarn -- even without scuba tanks.
…i.e.no sea hunting
George Zucco was always such a good bad guy.
Little finds like this, is why I keep this channel on speed dial.
Thanx again B.T
For those who love Lloyd Bridges, check out Sea Hunt, his 1960s adventure series.
I remember sea hunt . Takes me back to a more innocent state of mind.
Don't let the title cause you to not watch this. Well done story, that apparently was Lloyd Bridges' first leading role. Carole Gallagher - uncredited - plays the newspaper office blonde brilliantly (without saying a word). FIVE stars!!
39:00 minutes in, this is great: lots of shifting identities, quick talk, high stakes, humour --- and whaddaya know, a love interest.
robots are writing so ???
Another good little movie, I enjoy it when the storyline involves twins/lookalikes, it usually leaves openings for so many twists and turns.....even though the bad one got 🗡at the start, he started the chain of events that formed the rest of the movie. Take care BT,your uploads are always worth a👀 peek!!!
You are very welcome Lenora, thanks for the encouragement @Lenora Swidzinsky
Oh yes, love the old days !!!
Good movie thank you
Always loved Lloyd Bridges in Seahunt.
Thanks BT for sharing
My pleasure!! @Lady Tee Woodruff
A smart cute little flick. Good job by everyone. Even Professor Moriarty.
Never heard of this one, many thanks!🍀🍀😊
Glad you enjoyed it Adele, and thanks for watching. @Adele Ballard
Good story , good movie . Thank you Broken Trout
Such a shame that this film has not been restored. Lloyd Bridges deserves better.
thanks !
You're welcome @Abde Gued
He got married at end this is when glue sniffing started .... 😆
Nice "Airplane" moment.
@@BrokenTrout Thanks .. even sea hunt was predicted .. on the scene with fortune ticket . @ 30:00 .Better off taking long ocean voyage
Thanks for the old movies .. better than garbage on TV now days..
You are welcome @Quagmire Davis
An actor I would have loved to have met he always seemed so genuine and in the comedy he did he was brilliant also
Great movie, thank you so much for posting this.
@ 30:00 fortune ticket better off taking long ocean voyage .... Sea Hunt .. it eventually came tru .... lmao 🤣
I enjoy tidbits of info that I would otherwise not have known (the horns). Thanks to all who research or already know and share.
Right about then my lungs were aching for air, and my hand for a thumb.
Great movie
Grade b and fast fast action
Americans marry for such frivolous reasons, no wonder many have start over again 3-4 times before finding more or less some kind of stability. It's an OK B, maybe C movie, you'll watch till the end, but it definetely is no Maltese Falcon or Kansas City Confidential.
Nu e tradus bine
This amateurish plot has more holes than a cargo-net. 😞
Aren't there any quality-control cross-checks, even on these cheap productions ???
Loved this one. Thank you.
Art huck
At 1:50, Lloyd has a look on his face like "I might get laid if this keeps up".
The real life hero of this movie was George Zucco who returned to England to fight in WW1. An officer in the West Yorkshires was wounded and lost the use of two fingers..
Love 💕 Love 💗 Love ❤️ this movie 🍿
Thank you so much 😊
Lloyd Bridges, the original Dude.
11:06 Whitey from The Bowery Boys ?
Yes, that is Billy Benedict.
@@leelarson107 thank you for your indentifiling indentifier. I depreciated it
That cop, art huck?
From The Big Sleep?
Plot has more holes in it than Augusta national
It's been a while BT. Glad to see you haven't lost your touch!
Love these old black and white crime dramas. Cool cars and cooler women ,oops I mean hotter women.
Surprised I never saw this one! I'm a big Lloyd Brides fan...High Noon, Home of the Brave, Little Big Horn, Rocket Ship XM, A Walk in the Sun, Tall Texan...my favorite pictures.
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Enjoyed it, thanks BT. Twisty story, good cast.
And I wonder who that busty blonde was, in the classified ad office, with the upswept hair. I wonder if the producers were testing her out to see if she'd provoke lots of fan mail. That's what happened with Tony Curtis in his first bit in Criss Cross around the same time. He has no lines, just dances with Yvonne Dr Carlo in a nightclub, and the fan mail poured in, asking, "Who was that guy??" He was known as Anthony Curtis still at that point in time.
I looked up the full cast list on IMDb and found out the busty blonde's name was Carole Gallagher and she did small parts at MGM and RKO. Her role in this film is listed as "Newspaper Flirt." She was married to cowboy star Dick Foran for a time. She died in 1966 at only 43.
@@IrvONeil-fn6cp 'That busty blonde' was the star of the film. 90 minutes of her moving about in the office would have made a pleasant movie in itself.
@micro-organism-pv5gd No, Carole Gallagher was the busty blonde. What I meant was, perhaps the movie studio that made Secret Service Investigator was testing her out with her appearance in the same way Tony Curtis was tested out in Criss Cross by dancing on-screen for two minutes with Yvonne DeCarlo. He was so striking in that scene that it provoked so much fan mail that his career got a big boost. Likewise, Carole Gallagher was the best thing in Secret Service Investigator, as @leelarson107 said above (and with which I agree!), but unfortunately her career did not progress as successfully as Tony's.
@micro-organism-pv5gd I ended up watching the movie again after leaving the above reply. With more good actors than I at first recalled! A fun film. Always good to see George Zucco in charming villain mode, and John Kellogg as "Bennie" was always a good noir thug.
Lynne Roberts was such a lovely, friendly presence. Wish she'd made more dramas and fewer cowboy movies.
Most of the cowboy movies were made when she was still known as 'Mary Hart'.
Great short from the late 40s. Thanks.
Investagator Submarino
This was a good one, taut story.
The birth of the end of freedom
Impressive punch up at the end.
Nice little filum
Just started and have no idea of where this is going, but Mallory just glances at the guy's ID and accepts though the plan is really dicey. Now, a little later on things just go as one might expect from the title like that and with Lloyd Bridges in it. Well, I will last as long as I can.
Well, giving up, this is a bad parody of the genre.
Sorry you didn't care for it Ned. Thank you for giving it a try :)
Thought it was great. Lots of plot twists.
Excellence
😜
Lloyd was at his mx in this, RIP.
My only issue with this film is the train sequence, that was a steam engine pulling the passenger train with a diesel horn.
Always one here to spoil things
@@johnboys4697 That's how easily most people can be fooled and those that do the fooling know it and take advantage.
Well, this is supposed to be ENTERTAINMENT, after all, not a board of review at the railroad's executive branch.
@@johnboys4697 Probably treats his wife like that too.

very very poor video quality
So don’t watch it
I'm blind, so it doesn't matter.
I just love all the Bridges boys
More plot holes than I could count, but a busy little picture. Worth watching if you can get past the sketchy storyline. Good supporting cast. John Kellogg, George Zucco, Milton Parsons etc. Thanks BT for digging this out of the archives.
Seems like 391 people like the sketchy story
