  • Short test ride of my Honda CB650c rc05 cafe/brat racer build after head rebuild & porting and general flowoptimizing the hole engine. Powerband changed alot, smooth torque curve up to 11k rpm. I know the clutch needs to be done.
    Also the mic position is not the best, the chain noise sucks and the road was dirty and slippy as fuck...

    Awesome bike. I got a CB650 recently that I'm gonna try my hardest to make into a real performer. Are you running stock gearing and original final sprocket drive or did you change one of the sprockets? Also, what carbs are you running? Any sorta cam change? (I can't find a better performing cam for it no matter where I look).

    How does it ride with lowering the front end? Did you keep the stock rear shocks? Awesome bike! I’m currently doing a build on the same exact bike. Still not sure if I’m going to go cafe or tracker with it.

      It rides much better than stock, i shorten the frontend about 4cm and put about 3cm longer rear shocks on. Next step is a steering damper to eliminate those bad shaking above 150km/h at cornering.

    Did you have to modify your front fork springs at all? Awesome video btw!

      Yes i needed to shorten them around 20mm, together with the 50mm shortening spacer i build the fork is now nice and stiff.

    did you rebuild the forks when you dropped them or did you just move the mounting points down?

    • @SuuperSXV
      @SuuperSXV  2 года назад +1

      I rebuild it because you have to disassemble it anyway if you want to lower it by building spacers. It is 55mm shorter and 50mm down on the mounting. Had to build a two part spacer because the oil bore gets covered with a solid 55mm spacer 😊

      @@SuuperSXV I'm assuming you used heavier weight fork oil when you lowered it with spacers? What would happen if you just lowered it on the mounting point and didn't use spacers? Just curious probably going to do spacers anyway

      @@clintbeeler5069 if you just drop it on the clamps, you have the same soft fork but the fork angle is straighter which I didn't liked driving.
      Yes I used the thickest fork oil I think it was 20w.
      If you space it your fork has more pretension, combined with progressive wilbers springs it is pretty awesome for hard driving. I also cut the spring around 25mm on the soft side but i don't know if it was necessary because i did it all in ones and couldn't compare it. Shortening the spring softness the fork again. You have to test it on your own, if your negative fork travel is good, don't cut the spring.

    how deep of a drop is that on the forks?

    • @SuuperSXV
      @SuuperSXV  4 года назад +1

      About 50mm shorter fork and 40mm drop. Springs got cut 25mm. Stiffness and height is now perfect. Use at least 15w oil or 20w to get a good usefull damping.
