    Is a blanket stitch and a blanket appliqué stitch, different? If they are two different stitches, why is the other called a blanket appliqué, which makes it confusing...my project calls for an appliqué stitch..help!
    I did see that you gave two separate videos, one for appliqué stitch and one for blanket...but they look identical. Can you please explain how they are different too? Oh I appreciate you very much for the videos! Best hand stitching tutorial I could find!
    I’m back...I do not believe how well done your videos are! I have no need for you to explain it , I simply watched both videos, was sewing right along with you and now I got it! I’m pumped! Thank you!!!

      Hi and Welcome! So all good now? Blanket stitch binds an edge and Blanket appliqué binds an edge onto fabric. I hope you enjoy sewing with me!😊🥰

      PayItForward wow! I cannot believe you answered me...normally I don’t get a respond on a crafting type video! Your awesome in my book! Hehe...last night, I just propped my phone up on my knee, and my project in hands and I kept trying it, and finally I got it! Trial
      And error really...if your video was not so well done, I would not have been able to figure it out...an hour of starting over was ok by me. But that’s how a person learns. My project has three layers of felt, so it was tricky for me). 😉

      As a newbie to all this, I really appreciate the detail you go into, thank you! I’m planning on attempting a Victorian crazy quilt, so I’m hopping this will be a stitch I can incorporate? Im collecting videos of hints, tips, stitches, and so on, so have saved this into my folder. Thanks again ❤

    Thanks! I'm replacing worn out backing on my grandsons choo-choo train and very favorite blanket that I made for him 5yrs ago. The old backing was no longer soft and I'm replacing the old with soft new non-pill fleece. I cut the old away nearest the seam and used it as a pattern for the soft fleece. I used saftey pins to attach it before using the blanket stitch all the way around the blankie. 😍

    When you applique with fusible fabric, should you use the blanket or the overcast stitch, or do you need to use any stitching at all? I don't have a sewing machine so I would be stitching by hand.

    Great tutorial, Lisa, you've made the stitch easy to do and is perfect. I've done half the heart but don't know how to stitch in the "dip" of the heart, which is opposite the point. Can you explain that to me? Thanks so much!

    • @payitforward9442
      @payitforward9442  3 года назад

      Hi Carrie, Ok I’ll do my best! When you get to the dip in the heart place your last stitch on one side right in the point of the dip. Then take your next stitch to the opposite side to mirror the other one, but bring your needle out in the point of the dip again, then carry on as usual. I hope this helps, I might update that video with this corner🤔🥰

      @@payitforward9442 Thank you so much for the quick reply, Lisa! I'm working on a volunteer project so it's great I can continue. I'm pretty sure I understand. I'm making 3 stitches at the dip point, similar to the heart point but in the opposite way, kind of. I wonder if that makes sense?! Ha! It did seem to work. It would be great to see how you do it sometime. Thank you again for your help!! 🥰

    Hi, how do you join the thread, going around the entire circumference of an actual blanket?

    • @payitforward9442
      @payitforward9442  4 года назад +1

      Hi, I’ll try and explain it, at the end of your thread , cast off and start a new thread, hide your knots in between layers wherever you can. Your first new stitch should go over your last stitch, so there are no gaps in your top line binding. Does that make sense?🤔 perhaps I need to do a joining video! I hope this helps, a little. Lisa😊
