    ive watched every video. best truck on youtube imo. i have a 1994 12 valve my self looking to put some gauges on it. can you about the 3 gauges on the dash. thanks any info will help tons

      @thefumminspagerpope4452  2 года назад

      The 3 on my dash are boost fuel pressure and egts. Those are the most important in my opinion, if you have an automatic you want a trans temperature as well

    • @thefumminspagerpope4452
      @thefumminspagerpope4452  2 года назад +1

      I ended up hurting something in the valve body, and it was cheaper the manual swap it than get a built auto

      I would totally build another with the 5r in a heart beat, the swap was just the best and cheapest option once I wore the converter out

      @@josearredondo2251 that seems to be everyone’s experience with them.
      Honestly a good Tach signal and throttle position signal makes all the difference in the world and most of the time the trans doesn’t need any tuning if those signals are good enough

      @@thefumminspagerpope4452 I'm running the jms Pedalmax for the throttle and a tach helper. But since I need this truck to work, like yours, I'm worried it will never get there.

    • @thefumminspagerpope4452
      @thefumminspagerpope4452  2 года назад

      @@josearredondo2251 in my experience nothing works better than the original sensors. For Tach the Ford crank sensor on a tone wheel gives the most accurate reading to the ecm as well as the factory throttle position sensor. Anytime you had a pigtail or tie into the factory throttle sensor it addds interference and can cause shifting issues.
      But if you already have those on the truck try taking the trans back to stock tune first.
      You also need to see what the Tach is doing with a digital read out, the rpm at idle can’t have more than a 30 rpm jump up or down. If it does the trans will never shift correctly

    What lights wer on on the dash?

    • @thefumminspagerpope4452
      @thefumminspagerpope4452  2 года назад +2

      Check engine light because I never tuned it to turn off. And after I swapped the zf6 I haven’t figured out how to get the factory trans temp gauge to work so the check gauge light stays on. Eventually I’ll figured it out but for now I keep the truck to busy to worry about it

      @@michaelmyers1779 the check engine is easy to get rid of with a tuner, but when it was an automatic it shifted so good I didn’t wanna change anything and mess that up so I just left it.

      @@michaelmyers1779 I ran the truck for about 5k miles with no tuning at all on the trans and didn’t have an issue. Reason tuned the trans at all was because I wanted lockup sooner, but I only tuned trans nothing with the stock Ford ecm
