There is literally no reason for Kendrick to be jealous. Kendrick debatably has less sales than Drake because he has put out less albums than him and takes long hiatuses in between. Drake, as a softie, said on some podcast these were ‘mean and unkind words’ where every other rapper was cool with it, I see Drake in the music industry, but not rap, Drake is too soft to be in the rap game as it is one of the most competitive music genres, no hate, but he can’t be a rapper. (Not gonna mention Drake’s ghostwriters)
Drake isn't soft though. He and people who know him say this all the time. They don't get where that narrative came from. There's a lot behind the scenes we don't know about and when you don't like someone you don't know, you read into everything at face value. I don’t take rumours my friend, I am basically talking how he responded to a verse by Kendrick in ‘control’ every other rapper was cool with it, but the ONLY one who took it personal is Drake. Kendrick was not disrespecting Drake at all, he was just telling everyone that he is competitive and he isn’t playing around, but Drake took it personal and started referring to K dot in his songs a bit too often, and it escalated.

People gotta learn to separate art from the artist. Drake makes good music, but dude is the biggest snake in the industry. Kendrick debatably has less sales than Drake because he has put out less albums than him and takes long hiatuses in between. He also stays out of the limelight. On top of that if we're gonna talk about mainstream success, Kendrick literally has like 10 more Grammys than Drake. If Kendrick wanted to, he could just put out more songs like Swimming Pools, Humble, Loyalty and Poetic Justice which are very palatable for the mainstream audience, and collaborate with a huge variety of popular artists. The guy just chooses not to.
That’s not the only reason, Kendrick sells less because he’s simply not the bigger artists, Drake caters to wider audiences & basically a hybrid, that’s two different markets
