Matt & Marisha talk about Critical Role and their experiences at MAGfest 2017.
We apologize for the white balance in this video.
A huge thanks to:
@ThatGamerGrl for the HD footage
Will Crosswait for providing us with crisp audio
We want to apologize for the time it took to upload this, but both of our video editors were plagued by hardware issues (fried motherboard, cables etc...).
We sure hope you guys like this video though!
Critical Scope So you got Episode 51'd?
Most definitely... a USB power surcharge on the motherboard itself... nothing on my part
Critical Scope Long? Late? Quick! On time!
yeh it is bad but mag fest did an upload them self with very very good quality maybe you can get it :)
"First time commer, long time lover..."
I love Matt's expression after she said that xD
How can you see expressions?
'Waiit a minute! I'm pretty sure-" *checks her drink*
seconds into the video and I almost cried laughing at that
2:37 *Sneeze* "Bless you." "Thanks!"
That's nice!
34:12 - "Vex is the Han Solo of our group."
If the popular "It Girl" Vex is the roguish BAMF Han Solo, then Percy is the equally badass Leia... and I'm all kinds of alright with that.
Marisha looks like an angel of fire with this bright light on her...
I love how Matt is in his gray plaid lounge/pajama pants at this panel. XD
I was one of the lucky few who got to ask a question (at 25:40). So happy with their responses! I just wish it could have been an in depth conversation.
By the way, the was a second panel they did later on at the same convention uploaded here: ruclips.net/video/nptMXh8CAbI/видео.html
I was actually there! 3 hour drive was totally worth it!
It was a lot of fun being there for the panel. And it was awesome meeting the both of them; they are extremely friendly and so down to earth.
Thanks for recording this but could nothing be done with the exposure?
No sorry, we did all we could :-(
The exposure is fine, it's just that Matt & Marisha are approaching critical mass.
Sazi Vicarian To be fair, pale people dont handle light well.
this is the actual reason :-)
Don't have an manual iris control?
The exposure was definitely weird on this one. Marisha looks funny without a nose. Without the reference of nose and the outlines of eyes, her pupils and irises looked like she had gone cross eyed. I'm sure you did what you could and I'm glad to heard it, but still, it looks weird.
You got me playing with the pause button. It is funny how "drawn" Marisha looks in some frames.
That is so weird! I was literally just revisiting a couple of panels and then the notification came up.
Surprise!
Anyone catch the.. I think third question asked? (the one after the Spice question.) I turned up my volume as much as I could stand with ear buds and I couldn't pick it out any clearer.
(Not an issue of the recording btw, more an issue of the space the panel was in. some have better sound systems than others.)
They could get through so many more questions if everyone didn't give their life story before asking
14:35 It took me 30 minutes of searching and I finally found it. Also 14:58 Scanlan needs to zoom in on Matt's face and make it a shirt.
Signal Boost - The Musical What do you think?
"This is the importance of clerics you guys" hahahah :D
Do you have their panel the next day? Or maybe it was just her panel i don't remember, and I didn't know about it until after it was over so I missed it. It was the one about being a nerd.
Here is a list of all panels we are aware of, there is footage from three from Magfest so far. www.reddit.com/r/criticalrole/wiki/hub/panels
Awesome, thanks so much for the upload :)
such an insightful panel, thanks for posting as always
Goddammit the one year I decide not to go to MagFest...
I had no idea they were there and I live like an hour away ;-;
What is the name of the monster he's talking about at 24:55?
Thanks!
It's currently the most powerful monster in the D&D 5e Monster Manual. You gotta have a super OP group to use one of those effectively. Maybe when Vox Machina hits Lv 20 they can do a one shot fighting a Tarrasque if Matt doesn't use it in the campaign.
What does Matt say at 37:42 ?
andreasfr1 “I was very respectful. I was crushing on her hardcore, but I was very respectful.”
zelda music?
They need to make a short film of Vox Machina, and everyone plays there parts, the Dragons would be so neat! Or an actual game! And you choose a character and along your journey you too can be with Vox Machina along there journey to save the world! And then you can pick the missions you want to go on and cross paths with Vox Machina! And have it be within the DnD format or a video game or Adult Board Game.. =) Just a thought. ALSO, RIGHT ON to Marisha on coming out about turning DnD into a type of Therapy! This was also on my mind for a LONG time! DnD can help in so many ways, with socializing, and in game realizing your potential through your Character and coming into your own truth of who You are and who You want to reveal as your True Self out into the World!!!! Also, I feel that the Characters You create in DnD are/can be Shadow aspects of the self that we may not show those types of personalities to others feeling as though it would be unaccepted in today's society. So, THANK YOU! MUCH LOVE to Matt and Marisha!! Never give up!
I believe quite a few people on the show have a small hope that TellTale would turn Critical Role into a game of theirs. There was even a moment where I believe Laura was about to say so, but she managed to stop herself realizing she didn't want to ruin her relationship with the company by being responsible for sending pestering fans after them.
I don't have much hope for a tell tale game, but WotC might want to capitalize in more on the CR success by making like an expansion/semi-sequel for Sword Coast Legends set in Tal'Dorei.
Interesting!
why do I hear the Song of Healing near the end?
The importance of Clerics.
I wish that the audio was fixed...
Which episode/moment is Marisha referring to at 31:00?
Episode 56: Hope
Raaaaaaaaar angry pitchforks
Matt have you called Brian's DM crazy yet? Brian posted a Facebook pic. of his table getting ready for D&D 8 players + 1 DM that is even more then I was willing to take on and my sanity is questionable at best!
Tim Green I once ran a 5e one shot for 12 people. It was great. there was a dungeon, but it turned into a murder/ revenge/ mystery game instead.
Matt has stated on vid. over 6 players is mad. As to my sanity I think I am more mad/crazy then most. You did 12 and it worked good for you! It was not a criticism of anyone but as Matt said "Why?".
Tim Green Sometimes you only have the one DM available, and people bring other people who want to play.
Yep your right the only thing I meant about it was that Matt is on record as saying over 5 "Why?!" But you are right as a DM sometimes the fates must be accepted!
There's nothing wrong with saying your campaign is full haha!! 12 people is hardcore. I'd imagine it loses some of the intimacy, and would struggle to stay on track, but it might have the fun atmosphere that comes with a large social group of any kind. I personally enjoy DMing to 4 people, and struggle with 6!! Good for you.
Love these two.
When was this recorded?
January 6th, 2017
But they are really luminescent.
love you guys so much!
My gods adjust your camera settings
