Thank you both John for sharing your story and to Panama Relocation Tours for posting it!! Very informative and it helps making the decision easier!! Definetly a ray of hope!!
John, I also loved living in Panama for many years back in the 60-80s. I was actually born there in Gorgas, back in 1959. Met my wife there in High School in 1976, we have been together for almost 40 years and I just retired 3 weeks ago. Left Panama to serve in the Air Force for 20 years and continued supporting the Air Force for another 19 years. We plan to look at Boquete, Panama, as a possible retirement area. I have also been looking at the Panama Relocation Tours Website. We still have property there in Diablo and at the beach. You mentioned you miss having a great steak, let me recommend the following location: Leños & Carbón Gourmet | El Dorado or on the Amador Causeway. Look for "CARNES A LA PARRILLA". Outstanding. Delicious food. Best of Luck, Charles
Always good to hear a New Jersey perspective... Grew up in Atco... Lived in Morrestown as an adult.... I am been to Panama many times... best place in the world
go downtown panama city and go to this rest. restaurant jimmy , gauchos, los anos locos and texas de brazil those are the best for steaks in my opinion and you will find it and when it comes for past go to napoli nice pasta and yes our coffee is amazing
I really like the video including the surrounding area and the accommodations. It provides a more in depth understanding of what is possible and what Panama actually looks like. This makes us more comfortable in deciding on a tour.👍
In the description we tell you the numbers. In Florida he was paying $2400 a month for an unfurnished 2 bedroom rental on a golf course. In Panama City, he's paying $1200 for a furnished two bedroom on a golf course.
Great job, very sincere and honest..Been looking at Panama for almost 6months, researching and looking at financial aspects…. I just don’t see how I can live comfortably in the USA… and the politics and crime are completely out of control… So Panama is constantly popping up as the best option. Working all my years to have it all gobbled up in basic living expenses is not appealing at all…Thank you for your perspective on making the move….
Si graciias mi 🇵🇦 es hermoso y queremos personas q quieren a Los latinos somos muy especiales. Mi esposo es anglosajon y la encanta mi pais y nuestras playas
Jupiter??? OMG in school I met a guy from there, of course, I went to FSU in Florida. Also, I had friends in Cocoli when it used to be the Navy base of the USA. It looks beautiful, more like an area in Florida.
Dear PRT, maybe you could put some text in the video showing the rent costs so you don't get so many people who don't read the description nagging you in the comment section. Just looking out for you, hate to see you fine people getting pestered.
Pretty soon you'll be able to take a metro train to the airport for less than $1 per person. Safe, great view of some neighborhoods and air conditioned 😁
Lot of comments asking about a price comparison. John is paying $1200 a month for a condo in Panama City instead of $2400 a month for a condo in Jupiter, Florida. Panama uses the US dollar as its currency, so it's a straight comparison. What he doesn't mention is whether or not utilities are included in his rent; if so, it's a huge bargain.
His condo is in Panama is furnished and utilities are included. The similar Florida condo was not furnished and no utilities were included. Big difference!
All you said is that you pay 1/2 the rent but that doesn't tell me the actual cost to live and pay rent. so I'm hoping you start giving more info in the future.
Is this area walkable with only occasional need for a car, where we can manage with Uber if necessary (or use public transport mostly)? Can we survive without a car in this or a similar community near Panama city? Thanks.
This area is about 15 -20 minutes to downtown Panama City. There are some amenities in the neighborhood but you'll need an Uber a bigger variety of restaurant, grocery stores, medical care, shopping, etc.
Hi John. Are pasta and beef not available in Panama? Also, what meats are available to purchase either at the grocery store or at restaurants besides chicken?
You should come to Panama in 2022 for an all-inclusive 6-day Panama Relocation Tour. That will help you find the area(s) you like best. Then come back every year to explore some more. You'll feel like you're coming HOME when you are ready to retire. Learn more about the tours at panamarelocationtours.com/tours
It’s cheaper in the interior of Panama - but for a beautiful furnished 2 bedroom on a golf course in the most expensive part of Panama with amenities and a view - that’s a fantastic price.
In the description we tell you the numbers. In Florida he was paying $2400 a month for an unforunished 2 bedroom rental on a golf course. In Panama City, he's paying $1200 for a furnished two bedroom on a golf course.

Wow!!! Great place!
Tastefully decorated and so inexpensive for that view!
Amazing shots and wonderful review of Panama ❤️
MRG... we need to chat!
for those coming to the comments wanting to know 'how much'. Please read the description. It is in the first paragraph.
Well done, John - very informative and to the point. Nice drone work and editing, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it

That was great. Congratulations on your new digs! Going to visit the relocation tours website right now.
See you down there 🍻
I wish there were numbers (prices) to compare between the US and Panama. Nice video, impressive location though.

A whole different world from those navy days.
Thanks for the video. How much are you paying in rent there?
Tucan gold course $1200.00 per month. 2 bedroom furnished.
Would they have 1bedroom? If so how much?
@@karencopeland6128 Good question, would be good to know. Thanks.

You look very happy and glowing ..
Panamanian cuisine is excellent... and very inexpensive to prepare...
We agree!
True
soundss great
He, mentioned Uber, how much would say a 10 mile trip to the airport run You?

Janson has a lot of coffee. What type of Janson coffee do you use?

I wish the music wasn’t so loud. 😉
Hi John. Are pasta and beef not available in Panama? Also, what meats are available to purchase either at the grocery store or at restaurants besides chicken?
pasta and beef are available in Panama as are other meats
I've been told that the quality of both beef and pasta in Panama aren't comparable to what they are in the States.
Great video, does golf come with rental or how much?
Golf comes with rent.
I'm about 9 years and 8 months from retiring. How soon is too soon to start planning the move? (From US) Looking for fulltime living abroad.

How much is the rent.? How much is the utilities WiFi?
details in the description of the video.
$1200 seems very steep to me but if it includes a lot of amenities I guess could be worth it
You get a small unfurnished studio apartment with a brick wall as the view out the window in NYC for $1,200.
😳 1200 is not bad. Get a roommate

You need to get out more. Miss a juicy steak?! Steaks in Panama taste much better than in the US.
This channel never says what the monthly rent is in dollars! Why not.
DID YOU READ THE DESCRIPTION????? THE RENT IS POSTED THERE.
That is because we use dollars in Panama!
Learn to read, homie.
The title is half as much as Florida so what are the numbers? Did John live in a Country Club in FL. What are the comparisons? Keep up the good work.
In the description we tell you the numbers. In Florida he was paying $2400 a month for an unforunished 2 bedroom rental on a golf course. In Panama City, he's paying $1200 for a furnished two bedroom on a golf course.
Yes this man is obviously one going to live the high life. But it's half off to live the high life in Panama it seems at least
So there is no more weekend lockdown in Panama?
No more weekend lockdown in Panama. There is still a curfew from 10pm to 4am.
@@PanamaRelocationTours great thank you Jackie I appreciate it.
Can you break it to a months expense. Is this US dollars Etc!
read the description of the video.
the most helpful info would be real and current rental costs.
read the description. His rental costs are there.
Really great video. Why is there not any 'good steaks?' I am a carnivore and would like to know where to purchase meats when living there?
There are plenty of good steak house in Panama -- John just has not found them yet.
Healthcare?
high quality and super affordable -- see this panamarelocationtours.com/healthcare-costs-are-one-of-the-reason-people-move-to-panama
Sorry but Medicare is not pretty much free.
Part a is free. Part b is about $148
