Andrew, I have a Pakistani passport but I started living abroad in 2009 at a younger age like 28 only. The passport doesn't matter if someone is committed to an overseas life. 🙏 It's true I haven't been moving freely across borders but it was not a problem as long as I pay for visa processing documents, and I generously paid for that. However, I'll modify my strategy in light of your videos for sure, and apparently your suggestions are quite feasible requiring payment for processing documents 🤣.
I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. If I were to move to Croatia, would I have to pay taxes on my US disability benefits from the VA? I understand that if I were to buy a house, I would pay property taxes. But I have no other income so I’m not sure how income tax would work. (VA benefits/compensation is non-taxable in the US.)
There's a website (Woods & Woods, LLC) that addresses your concerns. Short answer: yes, most VA disability benefits are payable to veterans residing overseas. I believe that it has more to do with WHERE you live overseas. Obviously, places like Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela are problematic.
Find out whether Croatia has an agreement with US about income taxes not having to pay them in each country. Between Türkiye, where i am, and the US, there is an agreement that if i pay income tax on my US income i do not have to pay them again in Türkiye and vice versa.
I'm already in croatia. And no you don't. I hope you have a croatian spouse or getting a digital nomad visa, which will not guarantee permanent residency.
