No one wants to experiment I have a 2012 impala lt .17.6.5 want to put Honda crv rims on my impala 18x7 5 bolt pattern Honda 114.3 chev 5x115 . Bore chev 70.3 .Honda64.1 can it be done.
First of all not only that's a crazy thing to want done, but then you add that you refuse to use basically any method that could've been used to make it possible. What you're asking is like : How can I build a house ? Except I don't wanna pay people to do it and I don't want to use tools to do it myself either. For the bolt pattern given the small difference floating cone wheel nuts could be used as the holes in the wheels most likely are wide enough to make it line up, but then you would rely on the hub bore to keep the wheel concentric and keep any vibrations out, but that's where your main problem is. The hub on the car is bigger than the bore on the wheel meaning you really have only two safe options, the realistic one is using an adapter, but you refused that, plus I don't think you'd find those hub bore size since adapters usually step up in bore size but don't really step down. So that's out of the question. EDIT : I checked and indeed, couldn't find adapters that step down in bore size. The less realistic one is to get the hub bore of the wheel machined to fit your impala, but that would probably cost a lot (still get in contact with local machine or wheel shops, maybe you'll get lucky, can't know if you don't try.) That's the more proper way but you're still dealing with those floating nuts and that's less than ideal. The really fucking dumb and dangerous way, that I shouldn't even tell you would be to use non hub centric spacers that are thick enough that the hub's lip is now flush with the surface the wheel mounts to, meaning the hub doesn't need to fit in the wheel's hub bore. However like I stated before if you're using floating cone wheel nuts, you're relying on the hub bore for concentricity, but now neither the nuts nor the hub bore would center your wheel meaning the thing would drive like if you had a severely bent wheel and your whole ass wheel would come loose and kill a pedestrian as soon as you get up to speed. DO NOT DO THIS. I only told you about that "option" (really ISNT an option) because if you came up with it yourself you'd talk yourself into thinking it's fine, but at least if I tell you about it I can warn you about the dangers of it. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING THIS. Just because the parts are available and because you'll find one dude on facebook that did it no problems doesn't mean it's safe. And NO the catastrophic failure doesn't only happen to other people, IT'LL HAPPEN TO YOU. But realistically you should come to your senses, Impala wheels are plentyfull and can be found for rather cheap. You could just buy the proper used wheels for your car, sell the crv wheels you have and have not spend any money at all, or maybe even saved some if you got a good deal.
