For all the flak Seiko gets regarding their clasp, it's still fully functional, comfortable and almost impossible to be opened accidentally or unintentionally.
Thanks for your review! I got mine for $250.00 (open box) and I love it! The bezel is actually ceramic. Mine has zero play, is aligned perfectly, and is buttery smooth. It's an ingenious case design that slims it down from what the thickness would be otherwise. The watch is running about +3 seconds a day. I'm not a big bracelet guy but really like this one. It's very well built. The micro-adjustments have given it a perfect fit. It's my first Monster and I'm very impressed.
@@fungusfoong9080 According to the Worn & Wound review... "and when you combine the new measurements with a narrower and sloping bezel (made from ceramic, not steel), the end result is a case that feels sleek and easy to wear, and not just in comparison to the previous incarnation of the Monster."
Just got this watch and love it. But I haven’t worn it yet outside and the lumi os not that bright and may need natural sunlight vs room light? My other question is do you know if the PADI version (SRPE27) have a brighter lumi or are all the 4th. gen the same on the lumi brightness and lumi color? Thanks
I love this watch, found nothing wrong with the watch I found. Its a little heavy, a little bit bigger than my last watch. It is so solid I love it. Thanks for the video
I got a Seiko bottlecap with the exact same bezel switchback at the 12. It's a little annoying that it's there but it does not make it unusable. I got it cheap at a grey market site, so I let it slide. I still like it, flaws and all. It really came to life on a strapcode super engineer bracelet.
It's certainly a beautiful piece, I wish Seiko would pull their finger out and provide a better clasp, pressed just isn't good enough at this price point. The rest of the watch looks fantastic however. I suppose you could always swap out the bracelet, but should we have to? Nice work on the review 👌.
Just sprung for this. Don’t know if I will have the bezel alignment issue as it can be hit or miss as you probably know. I do have a slight misalignment with one of my Turtles, the "Save the Ocean" color variant, that I received for my birthday last year so I assume it is still under warranty. How did you reach out to Seiko to get them to agree to address this?
The two things that make me want this watch is the solid end links w/ decent bracelet, And the lume color(Something different than the typical green)...Where is the lume shot by the way? Also, where did you find it for that price? I’ll buy it now if I could find it for 300...Thanks for the great review!
I'd live with it. They'll probably send it back and say it's in spec. Or it'll come back scratched. I dunno, I've got a couple of seikos with qc niggles and I just live with em as long as the time keeping is good and they keep out water. Unless u r actually diving with it - that might call for a more stringent perspective.
Great review. It’s a nice watch but the Gen 2 and Gen 3 I find personally nicer. Do not like the cyclops at all. They really need to work on there QC, The misaligned chapter ring is way too common, even on more expensive Seiko’s. Glad you got it for a good price. This watch is not worth $520. Lots of competition at this price. I have a few Seiko’s with the chapter ring issue. It’s really unfortunate, I really still like Seiko’ designs, and the construction and finishing is excellent. They really need to work on the small details.
The cyclops is incredibly intrusive and annoying. Photos don't show this well. I didn't realize until my watch arrived and I wore it for the first time. It was quickly removed and now I can use the watch without cringing. Will not buy another. Sticking to gen 1 and 2.

I doubt if the bezel is ceramic. Probably stainless steel.

Mine is -15 sec a day

That deep blue is gorgeous.

Great review on the new monster . There’s actually a newer save the ocean 🌊 dial of this watch as well 👍🏻

Definitely send back to Seiko 👍🏻
Bummer about the alignment. I have one on the way to me. Hopefully it's 🤞
For a Monster, its very nice. Not one for me, but very nice. And nicely done.
great review.🙋
Great video, it must take a lot of time / money to line up the bezel in the manufacturing que
Idk micro brands do it... I'm sure they have less money... I love Seiko so I look past it really don't have a choice I guess lol
Strap is 20mm ?

Thanks for the video.... Got to say I'm a "2nd gen Monster" guy... 😉👍👍
A misaligned chapter ring from SEIKO? Inconceivable! 🤣
Looks kind of like every other seiko. If you like seiko l guess that's a good thing. Personally l don't get attraction. Good vid.
@Johnny Tobee. Perhaps l like the channel not the watch. It is the comments section...
@Johnny Tobee. How would l know l didn't like until l watched the video...
@Johnny Tobee. I don't but there is always hope...
Nice looking Monster 👍🇬🇧
I'd be interested in a video on the Seiko warranty repair process. I have the same monster with the same slight misalignment

Thanks for mentioning the lug width 😁
Macy’s got it now for 325
Just can't get away with this monster, don't know why. Will stick with my gen 1 and 2 monsters ;) good vid nevertheless :)
Thanks brother!
Nice looking dial. Pity that Seiko just doesn't care about QC. Then again, if the Seikophiles don't care, why should the company? (((
Wow 😳 that price ???? Way too much . I’d rather buy a second generation Pepsi Sumo with the 6R15 movement for about $475 👍🏻
I agree I dont have a monster in the collection... So I went with this for now
WatchChris I’m actually thinking of getting a second generation monster with the 6R15 movement or a SRP637 which is bigger but wow what a watch 👍🏻
Why would anyone hate the cyclops ? It’s like hating milk!
The video is not in sharp focus. That ruins the video.
Good looking but terrible bezel action. Spins too easily and rotates backward. 😳
I ordered one & USPS lost it since last Friday......👀👀😂
I have 2 watches lost currently by USPS ...and the wait to talk to anyone is over an hour
@@WatchChris yeah, I waited for 1 hr. 15 min. And gave up. Fortunately they found it. Did you put in a service request ?
@@islandterror5198 yes 2 days ago haven't heard anything yet. Did you put one in how long did it take for them to respond?
@@WatchChris Put one in on Saturday afternoon and they called me 6 pm Tonight
Ok not horrible... Thanks for the info!
