She hasn't fallen off as much as some of these wrestling chicks.
Tony Atlas had been working up in the New England area for the Savoldi family in IWCCW (International World Class Championship Wrestling). They had acquired rights to use the WCCW name from Kevin Von Erich. They used the old WCCW tv intro as well, and simply added an "I" to the logo. A lot of future ECW performers got their start or first big break in IWCCW too. Taz, Tommy Dreamer, The Public Enemy, Big Dick Dudley ETC (albeit, all under different names). Paul E. Dangerously had worked in IWCCW as head booker from late 1989-early 1990, so he got to know the talent there. Back to Tony Atlas. He was still in great shape in the early 1990's. He was huge. I remember reading about him in the Apter magazines, that he was working up there. Then in 1991, Vince Jr signed him to the WWF and gave him one of the worst gimmicks ever. For those old enough to remember the Eddie Murphy/Arsenio Hall movie, "Coming To America", should remember the dancers that came out with the would be Queen to Eddie Murphy's character. Tony Atlas was dressed just like one of those dancers. Dude was Mr. USA.....Vince could have easily worked with Atlas' gimmick. He was a monster and was a pretty damn big name still. Nope.....Vince said (in 1980's-1990's Vince Mcmahon Jr voice) " Ha!! HERE COMES SABA SIMBA!!! HO!! LOOK AT HIM GO!! READY TO DOMINATE THE WWF SUPERSTARS!!".........Good move Vince.

Actually, it was 1990 when Atlas returned to the WWF as Saba Simba.
DefLeppardVanHalen ok.....he returned in August 1990. I was a few months off.
Tony said Vince did that to destroy him. Vince is vengeful and when he's done with you, he wants you to be useless to everybody else.
He underestimated Tony's brain and didn't realize that he was actually saving his life even though he was trying to destroy him.
Tony said he had to put over everybody but the referee!! 😂😂😂
But, he got married and bought a house and partnered with a gym.

maxx cat Very true but when it's someone's name (and this person is dead) then I think it’s important to write it the right way, out of respect.
But I don't think it's a deliberate typo just for the sole purpose of disrespecting the dead.
maxx cat Oh no, I know no worry. It's just a pet peeve of mine lol. I'm no grammar nazi but when it comes to names of deceased people it always bother me to some degree. Like people constantly saying Henning instead of Hennig, that type of stuff. 😊👍
