Don't know you, never saw any of your videos and after 5 minutes already know your a nice person. People like you make the world a better place.
Thank you!!
I love your encouraging words at the end of your videos
Thanks Jesse!
The other videos show you how easy it is to install vinyl plank, this guy shows you how to make it last... Very obvious your leagues above everyone else posting vidoes. Thank you for sharing the secrets of the trade. 👍
Thanks for this!
Nice. I searched all over the internet for using a level compound on just part of the floor. This is the first video I found after about 45 minutes of searching. Thank you!
Joe you are kind gentle soul sharing your knowledge! The world needs to take notes because the world would be a wonderful place if everyone thought the way you do! God is good!
Never thought of using a notched trowel to fill, that's awesome and going to be a headache saver from now on. Big thanks for the tip.
Holy crap, guy cranks up the wholesome knob and puts it into overdrive at the end. Wonderful stuff. Thank you!
Not religious but i appreciate the sentiment at the end, thank you for the wonderful video!
Your video was super helpful, however the prayer at the end made my day! Thank you for your witness!! God bless you!
Thank you!!!!
Absolutely the BEST video I found on leveling out an uneven floor! Most videos I saw were about self leveling compound. That is not what I needed as I am doing a small area. You answered all my questions I had about leveling low spots and not the entire floor. Thank you! Thanks for the prayer too. I need all I can get! God bless you and yours!
Wow, thank you!
As a retired teacher, I recognize and acknowledge you as one. My wife and I are building our retirement home - literally, we are doing everthing but electrical and plumbing. We are about to install a 12mm (apprx 15/32") laminate floor (hdf 8"x48" - plank). The product will float over 1/4" osb underlayment glued and stapled to "sleepers" at 16" oc (sleepers installed to accommadate hydronic tubing). There are more than a few height variations in the underlayment between the sleepers (the sleepers would be the highest levels). My thought is that so long as we keep the end joints directly on, or within a few inches of the sleepers, we don't need to fill the low the spaces (hoping the thickness of the plank will carry the span). We would be grateful for your guidance. And many thanks for your prayers - they are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks for praying for me and my floor prep!!! Your videos are the BEST I've seen! You've been helping me every step of the way w/ my flooring install!
Thank you so much for making our installation of vinyl plank in our house so successful. It is beautiful and went perfectly thanks to you and all of your great tips! You are the best. Xxoo
Here I am trying to fix the imperfections in my self leveler with feather edge. It really is hard to lay down especially by yourself. Got a few dips in it from where I skimmed it with a screed and the leveler started to get hard. Took to long mixing and laying it down by myself. After some cursing and thinking, I believe I can fix it. Thank you for imparting your knowledge.
Thank you I'm a handyman by trade but more of all I thank you for your prayer God bless you and your family
You are so welcome
Thanks for the advice man.
Really appreciate it. And I feel you when you say that self leveller doesn’t always find its level. I have dips in it hense the feather finish to try elevate the slumps
I appreciate the prayer I think I’m gonna need it.
Cheers to you and yours.
My I’ll next time dude.
4:30 (give or take) - I love when questions you were googling while in split screen are directly answered - in this case Ardex vs Henry.
Thank you!
Thank You! Brother for your awesome teachings and your Love for our Lord!!!!!
You are very welcome
Amen brother! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
Great video and straight forward and honest! Thank you for the blessing and prayers. Praying for physical and spiritual protection for you, family and your community.
Thank you so much!!
Such a source of knowledge and encouragement you are sir. I believe this is how God intends for his people to be light to the world around us. Amen!
You are a great teacher. I have done a fair amount of lvp installs and I still appreciate your knowledge that you share. God bless you
I appreciate that!
Love the prayer at the end. Keep being an ambassador of the Gospel!
Thank you!
Tips shared by picky (in a good way) and honest contractors are great find! Thank you for sharing, and of ores, the prayer
Thanks
Thank you so much for todays video. Im a disabled vet who probably bit off more than he could chew. 900 sq. Ft. Used feather finish for the first time yesterday and half a bucket went solid on me. This videos timing is perfect. 🤣 prep is done almost ready to start laying boards. I have 6 hours to go on acclimation. Bless you brother.
Thanks for praying for me and for the video.
Just leaving a thanks for the detailed video. Most people only show you the easy parts without problems . This is great to see what to ignore and what to fix . Thanks for the prayer too! Right back to ya. God is good
Glad you liked it!
You are very encouraging❤️
I am a first time watcher, thank you for the prayer 🙏
You are so welcome
Hallelujah Mr Joe thank you for your blessing and thank you for blessing us with your God given talent floor ministry. Amen. How awesome is this, Christian Carpenter. I am grateful Joe. May God continue to be your sovereign guide. Amen
First of all, thank you for the prayer as I needed it. I went over to home depot and they did not have this material. I had purchased the self level stuff but I am not interested in a swimming pool. I have an area that I need to fill and due to some sagging in the middle of the floor and might be a 1/4 inch in one spot. This material looks like it will work (I hope). I wish there was something like epoxy or a flexible thick goop that I could use. The whole floor thing has been a challenge and I'm getting the hang of it. I do not want to spend a lot of money on this so I got the style select from Lowes and it's wood laminate. Also used the underlayment. I like this over carpet but I'm a little frustrated with the water risk on the laminate. Wish there was a way to seal the joints. Anyhow, this has been an adventure and I really appreciated this video.
THANKS FOR SHARING!
I learned something here on this video. Use the notch trowel when the depression is a little deep. Good stuff.
I have to do a floor and been looking at your video's....all I can say is thank you......
You are a really good teacher, you have a great advice and the cheater board has to be the best thing ever. Something that makes the job so much easier
We are prepping to cover our floors and have been feeling nervous about leveling them ourselves. This brought so much peace of mind that we can do it! The prayer at the end was an unexpected bonus that made us feel that much more confident. Thank you!
Hey Joe thanks so much for giving great advice. I am a handyman and carpenter but you bring flooring to another level. We just bought a double-wide in the Phoenix area. One of the inspection items was uneven flooring. We are having the unit re-leveled but your video here helps us be more relaxed about the sub floor if it doesn't come out perfect after re-leveling. Thanks again. And also for being brave with your faith.
Joe you are the best. I sent you a question and in hours I had a reply. Thank you for you video on all the thinks you do. I have been a fan for many years. My bath room plank floor came out great because of your help, thank you. God bless you and you family.😊
I appreciate that!
Well, that was not the ending I was expecting! Thanks Joe, you made me cry =) My family is in the middle of a storm with my 12 yr old son with AML leukemia living in the hospital with dad 9 hours away, and a house that is deep in the remodel zone that I am completely DIYing before he comes home in 2 months to recover from a bone marrow transplant. I am on here to glean some tips before I dive into laying down some vinyl planking. I enjoyed your video very much and feel more confident than before. But it was the prayer at the end that felt like a hug from God. Thank you, from a sister in Christ out in MT.
Thanks for the prayers and the video. I learned from it.
Your praying was so heart-warming. Amazing content.Subbed and liked from Argentina.
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the education aswell as the prayers and encouragement!!
Lol. I love the comment, “it’s all in the wrist” using the trowel. It takes a little practice for sure. Lol
Love your video. Great info.
I’m a pastor BTW. Thanks for the prayers. 👍🏻🙏🏻
Do u ever tell your congregation about some of the anomalies in the bible? Like time travel and teleportation? Ezekiels wheel? Jesus going to hell? Technology present in those days? Firey chariots? Flying crafts?
Thanks for watching!
@@sothatshowyoudothat thank you 😊
Yes I agree with the non recommendation for self leveler. I've tried it twice with sketchy results, and found myself having to just go over it again with a product like this. It's much nicer when you're not frantically racing against the clock of a rapidly setting liquor self leveler
How u are a great instructor and such a genuine and humble man...thank u
Thank you for the excellent demonstration, but also for the intangible aspects such your sincerity in speaking to your audience.
You're very welcome!
Oh my gosh dude. Got me all emotional here with the prayers for your listeners. You're awesome bro. By far the most helpful video on floor prep I've seen. Working on putting in vinyl plank flooring after basement flooded. From what I can tell, there's at most 1/8" off every few feet at the high points on prior installed tile(asbestos). Was gonna go for self leverer, but you've got me thinking otherwise. Anyway, appreciate ya man, and thank you for the prayers. Blessings on you, your family and this ministry God is using.
Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks so much!!!. God bless you, your family and job. Your words give me the energy to don't give up in my proyects.
You have a beautiful heart Joe, thank you
WOW! Thank you so much!
I’m installing LVP over glued down engineered hardwood. I bragged to an installer that it should be an easy lay down as it was going over a pre-existing flat floor. He replied, “So you think”. Well, I grabbed a straight edge and oh my goodness, 1/4” gaps. So I’ll be buying a screed and some levelling compound/thinset. Thanks for the demo and experienced tips. Thanks for the prayers too. Those can’t hurt😀
Best video for this type of work I have ever seen. Thanks so much for making it.
Im not even thinking about floor leveler here.. Im just sweeping and installing. Joe goes the extra mile, hes a beast installer.
Thanks my friend!
Yeah me to. Maybe plain the transition area but overkill in front of that fireplace 😂. Ahhh throw some cardboard under a few planks
Thanks for the prayer! Between that and your tips, we’re covered :)
Thank you, Joe!! This is the perfect video for what I am looking for. Just tore out all the carpet, and our subfloors (old house) are in need of a lot of prep. I appreciate you video and all you share with us novice DIY'ers! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Great to see how a real professional works. Excellent advice throughout.
Glad it was helpful!
God Bless, Joe. Thanks for the tips and prayer. Have a wonderful year!
God Bless you and your family Joe and thank you for taking the time to teach us your skills and thankyou so much for the Prayers my friend.. Again steel sharpens steel and God Bless.
Thank you for your prayers. God bless you and your family. Great channel!
Thank you so much!
I really appreciate you and your videos. They have been very helpful to me while I’m working on my own house. I especially want to thank you and encourage you to keep sharing your faith and praying for your viewers. I am a follower of Christ also and I pray for you and your family also. God bless you and yours!
Thank you Jim!
I appreciate you. I didn’t see that ending coming. Good stuff my friend.
Top guy, great human. God bless you and your family.
Thank you for the blessing!
Thank you for you advice. I and my young son are attempting to lay vynil plank floor on a vey unbalanced cement floor. Slowly but surely with your videos I am coming along. Handyman are not willing and work so I quit trying and decided we could do: if I can sew and build wooden shelves, etc then I could do this. Thanks
Thanks, that was my exact scenario, to smoothen uneven height between tile and vinyl plank, to install LVT on top of each. Will level it using floor patch
Been watching your videos and have learned a lot. I have a project that i am working on. Old home 1963, some hardwood, carpet, some tile and some marble floor in entry. Will be working to build up all to level as much as possible and cover with vinyl plank floor. Your instructions for filling and build up have been helpful. Thanks again and thanks for the prayers.
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Joe! Thank you for these great videos. I am tackling my own whole house floor and I have lots of confidence because of you! Thanks for your prayers, too!
This is exactly what I needed to know... right when I need to know it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, skills, and wisdom.
Just want to let you know these videos of yours have given me so much confidence before the closing of my house in replacing the upstairs carpet with LVP
Thank you sir for giving me the courage and confidence. You’re an extremely kind individual and super talented.
Thank you brother for the video and your prayer! Blessings.
You are very welcome
Excellent videos! Thanks for all the great info, tips and tricks. You're a great teacher, a natural!
I appreciate that!
Appreciate the guidance Joe. Today is my day to try to use the Henry 549 on several dips on new 1/4” subfloor floor in a 1923 house. Went down to the original plank subfloor and had to layer it out with several different thicknesses of OSB to get it flat. The. I stapled down new 1/4”material. It’s a challenge but rewarding in the end on this kind of work. Yes God gave me the talent and skills to work with my hands and I’m doing it. Thanks for the prayers.
You can do it!
I appreciate the benediction, especially when I'm nervous about fixing my floor.
You got this!
Thanks for the great video and the prayer at the end. I pray for you and your family as well.
Thank you!
Was NOT expecting the ending 🥲 This video was great and the prayer/encouragement at the end was awesome. Thank you! *Subscribed*

Thank you!!
Please wear a mask when mixing silcone. We need you to live a long time for you to make amazing videos.
Thank you so much for this video and for the prayers and help with doing it. I'm redoing my master bedroom myself right now and my floor along 2 walls has sagged so i'm trying my best to level it out so I can apply the thin fllorte vinyl plank flooring.
God bless you and your family.
Thank you!
That hook blade is so useful !!
It really is!
Thanks for sharing your expertise. This is exactly what I was looking for! God bless you and your family, Joe!

Your method for looking for dips in the floor and marking them is BRILLIANT. Thanks!
Fantastic video and probably the most helpful one I’ve seen so far. Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you Joe, this is the vid i needed to see, God bless you man!!!!
Joe, you are a legend and God send. I got a bag of Ardex feather finish today, prepping some plywood floors for the guys to come in with laminate. Your information has shown me that I can prep for them without more non DIY. God bless you and your work. Another subscriber for you. Shane from Ireland.
This was extremely helpful! Thanks Joe!
GREAT leveling video Joe. exactly what I was looking for!
Glad to help
About to do my floors. I can’t thank you enough for your channel. Bless you!!!
You got this!
Thank you! I was installing vinyl plank and this is a great solution for the rooms transition as opposed to using self level. God Bless!
You're very welcome!
@@sothatshowyoudothat question for you. I’m feathering out a high spot on a transition, and going thru a lot of Henry’s 549 and it’s $22 for 7 lbs. I saw you recommended thinset for bigger fills, what type would you recommend? What about Henry’s 547?
Great demo of leveling. Thats one step I neglected when I put our Pergo floor down 20-25 years ago. There are a couple hollow spots where the floor flexes but the joints have never separated. Maybe its because joints were glue together back in those days. The floor still looks great after all these years and I'm reluctant to replace it but we're doing some remodeling so it has to go. I'll be sure to level the floor this time🙂
Did you add an underlayment pad in addition to the one the lvp comes with ?
Excellent!! Thank you for your prayers!!
You are so welcome
Wow, what a close! Thank you so much! ready to take it on!
I appreciate tour videos, I need the confidence to floor prep and lay laminate
No problem and you got this!
Are we covering up hardwood floors with vinyl plank?
Great video Joe! Thank you for passing along these types of tips to us DIYers. I have a kitchen floor coming up and this information will be invaluable! Thank you for your prayers and sending Gods blessing to you and your family!
Thank you!
