jsh020 That the sad truth about games that are 10 years in development. You could easily tell that they made the story much shorter than it should be for example the part about Ravus or some character development. They story was very linear after the 9. chapter and chapter 13 was really awful. The final battle was very good but a little too easy. Aside from the story i had no problems with the game to be honest. The dungeons are amazing, graphics are nice, the combat is good imo even if its simple. The side quests are repetitive and boring sometimes but hey all games have them.
Israel Aviña I know right they are amazing! But the dungeons you unlock with the key are all the same wish they would do something different with them than just clearing floors. And that puzzle dungeon lol 5 hours...
I thought everything about it was perfect but thats just me. I don't really expect much about games cause if i do it will most likely ruin them for me.
MrPeacetalker Square Enix did announce that they would add more story and content to make up for the launch of the game. However, a lot of the DLC is pre order DLC, most of them being set to exclusive for a different retailer, so if you buy it at GameStop for example you can't get the content that people who buy it on PlayStation or Xbox digital stores.
The patches that have to do with the story for free. The only stuff that you have to pay for so far is either the season pass of the DLC for all your friends. If you have the season pass you can get a bunch of items with all those.
+StrikerJaken it has quite a few problems but it's far, FAR from being a train wreck, let alone a bad game. The Japanese Backstreet Boys surprisingly ended up being the most likeable protagonists the franchise has seen in years, and the game laid a solid foundation that future FF games with a more stable development can build and improve on. It's been a long time since FF has been in that position.
I'm glad this is the one I became a fan with and I wasn't around for the years of development that would leave me bitter with the final results. Really love this game and it's just easy getting lost in it. XV is what got me into the franchise, so it will be memorialized.
Over 42 hours of gameplay and I'm still loving every second of it. The only thing that I was expecting more of was the story. The ending however was one of the most emotional ending I've seen and I just kept thinking about it for days. Easily one of the best game in 2016 :)
Spicy_gaming_Hunter98 yes, the game was in development for 10 years.. under Nomura, till they replace him with tabata in 2013. They had to reworked almost everything from the ground up and cut some stuff due time constraints. The game officially went full production in 2013.
Just 3 years. I respect Tabata and the team for nearly succeeding in tidying up the mess that was the development of FFVsXIII, now FFXV in just 3 years. This game has a lot of heart to it and it shows. The fact that they're adding more cutscenes to convey the story better for free also shows how dedicated the team are and that they had no choice but to take this route because of the strict deadline.
the best part of this trailer is that every single part of it is in the game and doesnt try to lure you in with cinematics that arent present in the game
Game is amazing so far. 50 hours in and loving it! So much to do! Noctis and crew have such a tight bond and I always anticipate how they'll react with each event they get put into. Great game 9.5/10 If you've played Xenoblade Chronicles, this game is a lot like that and I hold both Xenoblade Chronicles and FFXV as being equally good.
This game is truley a blessing, some games have been a bit lacking this year. I felt like a kid again, next year will be the year for gamers starting with Horizon Zero Dawn!
Although i liked the game it got far too much praise when it's clearly not finshed this game reminds me of destiny in that regards and it should be criticised for it being unfinished and not living up to a lot of what was promised, this should not be a trend nor rewarded otherwise all Final fantasys will be lacking and have cut content sold as DLCs and why not? they got away with doing it this time. Best thing about this game was the summons even though only 3 are actually are usable and copying FF10's bahamut then making it a knight in a suit with swords with no mega flare was a crime and making it a non usable summon is unforgivable. Also the sound track was pretty much the saviour of this this game.
lol this game is nothing compared to vanilla destiny. content in destiny1 was such a joke. there is ton to do in ff15. how dafuq are ppl still complaining with 60 + hours of content
Ceeckoful did you seriously just compare XV to destiny? I'll agree that it feels like some content was cut from the game but it is nowhere near as much as destiny. 60% of the rest of destinys story was dlc
Dante Vic From what i know they repurposed the shiva level to a hallway, took out plenty of bosses for example the second form of the end boss, took out back stories to characters and their parts in the game like Cor for example, they took out pretty much the entire playable map of dark continent and left us with just the few parts like hammer head before the end even though the whole map was finshed. The forced plot holes for the sake of DLCs was disgusting as well.
already have beaten the game and it was PURE EPICNESS!!!!!!! Final Fantasy was a masterpiece and was one of the most beautiful games i have evered played in my entire life.
God bless Square and Enix and their team for giving me such an experience. I'll remember this till I die. And that ending :') I just had to cry. If you like rpg and jrpg this is a must play game or your life ain't worth it. And don't forget to watch Brotherhood and Kingsglaive before playing this. Hajima Tabata you and your team is a LEGEND
Hajime Tabata promised us that Tetsuya Nomura vision and gosh darn it we didn't get that vision. We waited for a game that wasn't the game we waited for.
***** I dunno man, but I would love to see the original story/concept of versus 13 come to life with the current FF XV engine and gameplay mechanics, it could be even titled FF versus 15 or something like that. But I don't think it will happen
A solid game with a few issues. Graphics are great and there are particle effects for pretty much EVERYTHING. You might get the occasional bad texture here or there, but nothing problematic. The photos that Promopto takes in game do a pretty good job showcasing the visuals (but sometimes you'll get blurry pictures or photos of butts). The real-time combat prevents level grinding from growing stale. It plays a lot like Kingdom Hearts actually. The dynamic between the main cast feels organic and real. There's so much characterization in it, and it blends marvelously with the open world/camping aspects of the game. Minor characters take a back seat to the lead characters in a big way. Quite a few interesting characters never really had their motivations clarified in the story. They don't get a whole lot of screen time. One character in particular really captivates your attention when he's on screen, but he unfortunately only gets so much time. The story itself is a bit wonky. There are bits you might not get if you haven't seen Kingsglaive. The anime also has a few minor details, but nothing major. In some ways, the main plot feels distant from a majority of the side quests. It is very easy to get caught up in hunts and forget to move forward with the story. That also means it is far too easy to become over leveled for the main campaign. The narrative splits between a true open world game and a linear/semi-open world narrative. The third act kinda rushes things and has an EXTREMELY drawn out, excessively linear section that limits your powers and abilities. It's long enough for it to be a problem. Although I was a bit confused with certain story points, once I put it all together, I thought it was a decent narrative. Not the best sorry ever, but not awful. And considering how convoluted Final Fantasy stories can often be (FFVII and its side games and movie), this one isn't too terribly complex. The campaign is roughly 40 hours long and it's sadly not too difficult. There are only two difficulty settings: easy and normal. There might be a new game plus added as well as a 0 EXP option in a future free update. The post game content (extra dungeons and super bosses) make up for this. The music is a 10/10. Yoko Shimomura (from Kingdom Hearts) never fails to impress. I'd give this game an 8.5/10. Despite some of games issues, the core elements (combat, exploration, and the four lead characters) really shine through. I'm 60+ hours in, and I don't plan on stopping for a while longer. Hopefully enhanced difficulty modes will give this game since extra replay value.
FFXV is back to greatness in the series. I hated FFXIII, but loved the previous FF games (the main series), well except X-2. Off to see Final Fantasy distant worlds at the Royal albert hall in november. I hope some FFXV music will be performed.
I fully enjoyed Final Fantasy XV. Story was on the linear side after Chapter 8 or so, but I took that time to do some side quests and hunt down the rest of the Royal Arms. Adamantoise was a little less intense than I thought it would be, but that's probably because i was level 73 when I finally got around to killing it. I can't wait for the DLC's for this game, because it's been the most fun single-player that I've had in quite a while.
Dylan Hopson At least Skyrim had lots of quests that actually felt like you were doing something worth your time. Almost every side quest in FFXV are fetch quests and hunts.
L Faraone eh, the only good quests in Skyrim where the Daedric quests where you got something cool or got sent to another dimension. Also a good 90% of Skyrim was also fetch quest and hunt quests. "Guard left this around" *go kill a giant* Vex "Looking for work?" *go steal the jeweled goblet for the 57th time for 1,000 gold*. Believe me, the fun part of Skyrim was not the quests but how you accomplished them. Either by doing something stupid like using telekinesis on cabbages to kill the enemies or something cool like using whirlwind sprint with a great sword so you had the advantage of not being able to close the gap on ranged attackers
This Final Fantasy XV really is a masterpiece. Do yourself a favor and go buy it, turn volume up on your big HD tv and enjoy one of the most impressive game ever made
Gideon McAllistar A trailer telling people how good the game is to give it one last push before Christmas. Not odd at all. Apparently people don't understand marketing.
>Completely ignored the fact that FF15 got an 82 by critics while FF13 got an 83 by critics I love it when commercials never show you the actual reception of a game by game critics, don't you? =P
Gackt4awesome i am a fanboy because it`s my opinion and my opinion is like the majority of final fantasy fans? ok...seems legit... then i`m forever alone now right? a i guess the majority disliked 13 in different to 15 ;)
Ronny Scheidt 1. Yes you are a fanboy because you started trouble when there was none. 2. Not given how FF13 got FF13-2 from fan demand. Look up the development cycle of FF13-2 on the official Final Fantasy wikia sometime dude. 3. You really failed to provide a good argument as to WHY it failed or that the so called 'majority' hated the game. Especially since this is the opposite as it did not fail and it was just a vocal minority of it.
Gackt4awesome Honestly FF13 was better then this at least ff13 was a finshed game. Also the ending for 15 was poor can't believe people cried and said it was the best ending ever, lighting returns pretty much raped 15s ending and all their cut scenes combined. I originally hated FF12 but i realized how much better that was over ff15 so il be getting the HD when it comes out, I also hated FF13 but played all 3 games and realized it has a complex lore and a decent story arch and characters.
final fantasy xv is a great game but not worth 10/6 years development because the game is not ready yet i think. the open world is bigger than you think but you cant acces it except you glitch into it 8.5/10
Fantastic game. Actually made me care loads for the other party members. I just wish it wasn't as sad a ending as it was although it was beautiful. Ardyn has become one of my favourite villains too.
I was actually Mind blown I thought the game would be 100/100 or 80/100 rate. but it was 90/100, 100/100, it worth a wait for this game to make sure it's perfect for long time, it change your feeling by Noctis friends who been with them the whole time to the end.
"Walk tall, my son"
*cue in tears*
lebiyoo ugh, I was fine until you echoed it again.
"Walk tall, my friends" :(
My only complaint was the "short" story compared to what we get from most FF games but the post-game makes up for it.
jsh020 That the sad truth about games that are 10 years in development. Noct but it wasn't in development for 10 years
Noct imagine how long final fantasy 7 storyline would be... in HD!
"What can i say? You guys..... are the best!"
One of my favorite game of all time. The story really makes you think about a lot of stuff and the gameplay is really well done.
Marc M Many have said that you need to watch the TV series and movies in order to understand the game
Howya Doin No, not at all, though it does show you the backstory of some of the characters
Howya Doin The anime give you a bit of backstory about the ''brothers'' and the Kingsglaive movie explain what happened to the kingdom.
Marc M Oh, great to hear! Then I'll be sure to watch it
This game is a masterpiece.
omegazio flawed masterpiece
How is it flawed?
The story is 100% good but it was not delivered well. Tho the dev are now creating extra cut scenes for that.
I thought everything about it was perfect but thats just me. I don't really expect much about games cause if i do it will most likely ruin them for me.
i wouldn't go that far to call it a masterpiece. it was good, but there's a ton of issues with it.
This game is an unfinished masterpiece. By that, I mean the game is brilliant, but much of the game is missing.
MrPeacetalker Square Enix did announce that they would add more story and content to make up for the launch of the game. MGSV here. Can say that we relate.

Played the Day One edition and I've played the Royal Edition. Definitely took some time but it's a great game.
Final Fantasy XV and Noctis finally brought back the gold standard that is the Final Fantasy name.

Still playing this masterpiece until now even after I finished it for many times.

Roland Ravina It's called a 'Sombrero' and I'll take it if it means I got another costume choice beside the few you get

I bet they are saving that for Final Fantasy XV-2
Gotta hand them to Tabata's team, they did the impossible in such a short amount of time given by Square.
Spicy_gaming_Hunter98 yes, the game was in development for 10 years.. under Nomura, till they replace him with tabata in 2013. They had to reworked almost everything from the ground up and cut some stuff due time constraints. The game officially went full production in 2013.

Gackt4awesome i am a fanboy because it`s my opinion and my opinion is like the majority of final fantasy fans? ok...seems legit... then i`m forever alone now right? a i guess the majority disliked 13 in different to 15 ;)
Ronny Scheidt
Ceeckoful opinions I guess.
Ceeckoful you're a disgusting human being
when's that update coming out?
It's out.
Izmar XLordran what does it add?
icysecsee6rince Newgame+, more story cutscenes, glitch fixes.
final fantasy xv is a great game but not worth 10/6 years development because the game is not ready yet i think. the open world is bigger than you think but you cant acces it except you glitch into it
8.5/10
Ryan Kharisma the game started development late 2012 so about 2 3/4 years.
6 years development because they not start in zero. Ff versus xiii is the main concept
Ryan Kharisma that's story not the actual game, development of the actual game started early 2013
Ryan Kharisma ugh. the game was only in active development for 3 almost 4 years.
10 from versus xiii and 6 from ffxv for ps3 and they change enggine for next gen is that what i mean
Fantastic game. Actually made me care loads for the other party members. I just wish it wasn't as sad a ending as it was although it was beautiful. Ardyn has become one of my favourite villains too.
As much as I'm enjoying the game for what it is, I wish we got what was shown in the e3 2013 trailer :( and especially Stella
This game so close to being awesome it just needs some more story content.....
Am I the only one that hears the skyrim theme in the backround?
so...we gonna tell the truth about this game or no?
yeah, sure, it's good. Not perfect, but it's real good.
It's mediocre at best...
Sure, it's a pretty good game. It's definitely not a masterpiece but it's a huge step in the right direction for the series.
Spegma Yeah, and no point in listening to you either.
It's an incomplete train wreck, but if they polished it up and fixed the million plot holes, I think it be one of the best.
Overall a great game with some drawbacks!! Square please keep updating things and make it perfect.
I can't wait to play this game!!
Amusing Potato Yeah, man. its sick af
King Sorah Ikr
Everything said in this video is the absolute truth. Great game.
Can someone please tell me what's the song in the second half of the trailer? Thanks :)
Why was the story so quick one chapter was literally 10 minutes
What?! Im now at chapter 9 and have 70 hours gameplay already XD Guess i was too much at side quest
I have about 60 hours in-game and on my second playthrough
Summons are legendary
What's the name of the soundtrack in the bg? the violin one?
Amazing game.... Must play by everyone
I was actually Mind blown I thought the game would be 100/100 or 80/100 rate. but it was 90/100, 100/100, it worth a wait for this game to make sure it's perfect for long time, it change your feeling by Noctis friends who been with them the whole time to the end.
is the patch out in the UK
