The Matoshis know how a ladys body is contoured. Their clothing just sits better on the body compared to the fakes. It is like the difference between tailored and of the rack type of deal.
They clearly do. That mint dress was just everything. Though I fear it would probably not fit my larger chest. But who knows.

Pretty sure its custom sizing, so just measure everything and it'll fit well.
Though its way way expensive and definitely out of my price range I would absolutely love to have something like this if I could afford it, especially if I didn't have to worry about it fitting right because I also have a bit of a larger chest, and I'm super short but its not as annoying as bust because length of a skirt is a super easy and cheap thing to alter.
all this tells me is I need to learn how to make clothes asap so I can alter my rack clothes and tailor them to flatter me.

You KNOW she put so much thought into the placement of the cherries on the sweater once the dupe is side by side! they fall perfectly no matter how you move while the other one looks like something unmentionable. lmaooo you gave the dupes waaaay to much justiice.
Ikr I feel like I would get the cherries in my food with the fake one too they way they dangle from the sleeve, she was smart to have no cherries on the bottom part of the sleeve
i know the cherries on the fake sweater were just awful i hated every moment that sweater had screen time

I also preferred the real ALOT but I couldt quit articulate why. thanks for pointing out the cherry placement! that makes so much sense! I also feel like they should have put more cherries on the fake one... they look like a lastminute addition.. the difference between scrap yarn odd aunt outift (I say that with love for those aunts) and designer !
One thing Iv noticed about the real vs. fake dresses is that the real dresses have a lot more rich and deep colors, with much more depth while the fakes are lighter, flatter color and they look a bit more cheap.
Also the real ones had boning (which makes them fit nicer) and the fakes didn’t
Ohhhh that's probably why I thought most of them (maybe except the mint one) didn't flatter Mia at all. Like the fake side just looked so dull while the original side was literally glowing, imo. I thought it was a placebo from knowing which one was fake and real, but this makes total sense. But ofc, the quality could also be easily determined because of that gorgeous boning.

For the blue dress, the fake looks a bit like a costume whereas the designer one looks elegant. The trouble with saving money for these types of dresses is that they are very fantasy-inspired so they can look like a costume easily. Better to support the designer.
As they say, “the difference is in the details.” The Matoshi clothing, the colors are more vivid, the weave much higher quality (sweater), the placement of details are much more eye catching. The Matoshi fit looks individualized unlike the imitation.

My favorite outcome of the strawberry dress trend is all those people in tiktok making their own version of the dress. Like similar pattern but different theme e.g. A daisy dress, blueberry dress, lemon dress etc

my favorite thing is when Mia was doing the try-ons and had herself with the real piece on the right, everything she did reminded me of a sim just being idle on screen 😂 the little swaying motions, looking around and making different expressions. it all gives me sims vibes!

I absolutely LOVE this side by side edit!! It’s so hard to keep the details of one in mind when assessing the fakes but this way it’s right there! LOVE this edit!!
when you see it side by side you can clearly tell because of its structure, detail, everything is thought out in the design of the original that it just hands down, you cannot copy what is so perfect already

Thank you for the comparison. The direct comparison actually goes a long way to show viewers why the Matoshi dresses are worth the money. Details, fit and comfort are everything and these dresses look so beautiful. More importantly, they make the wearer look more elegant and that's wonderful!

Side by Side shows that "fit" truly is everything!! Mia is so beautiful in anything, even oversized jean shorts yet seeing her gorgeousness side-by-side in the dresses shows how well the originals all fit better. Very interesting review, thanks Mia!
Mia, something I learnt throughout the years is : you don't need somewhere to go or a special event to wear a really nice dress. You like it ? Wear it ! If someone feel offended because you're dressed nicely for no other reason but you liking it, that's totally their problem. If you feel unconfortable, a long sleeve shirt and sneakers can dress down the nice dress and there you go ! A new casual look. Why should you enjoy those beautiful dresses for only 5min ? They fit you perfectly, you look stunning in those (I mean, even more than usual). It would be a waste to not wear those for sure.

Yes. Their color isn't as vibrant either cuz the blue is muted on the fake. The cherries want to jump off Lirika's sweater...the fake is like, "Hi, cherries here."

Hello besties! Just a friendly reminder that as tempting as it is, you really should not buy knockoffs of these clothes. Trust me, I want them too. But these are original designs by small businesses that are all hand made (they even post videos on insta) and their workers are all paid a livable wage. I just wanted to throw that out there 🥰

Yes I’m glad someone said it!! These knockoffs come from Asian sweatshops that are paid practically dirt and not under good working conditions. Granted most things come from sweatshops but you gotta choose your battles somehow, at least the clothes you buy from other places aren’t stolen from small businesses. We can’t be perfectly ethical but we can always minimize consumption as much as possible 😇

And it’s also not to shame Mia for doing so; she only did it because people asked and she’s just trying to make people happy because she loved us. She even acknowledged it as theft which most RUclipsrs don’t. I’d like to think she did this comparison video so we don’t have to!
"besties" is extremely condescending, but okay. And not many people have the money for the real things. If I wanna treat myself and buy a knock off dress (I don't anyway), I can. It's my own decision. Also, almost everything on aliexpres, wish and other sites like those are knock offs. Not just clothes.
Please remember that more then likely the knock offs are made by under paid and mistreated workers or in sweat shops! Please do whatever you can to support artists and buy their work FROM them! :) It can be a bit hard for non artists to understand just how frustrating it is having your work taken from you but it really is one of the worst feelings. I know the allure of buying something cheaper but if you can avoid it and support artists please do. Hope everyone is doing well!
I totally agree with you. At some point I had a hairstyling blog on insta with my own original ideas and big and small content creators were stealing off me and some techniques they are now known as their own. It got me so mad and it made me give up the whole idea as it was too stressful. I always credited someone for the inspiration and tried to give my own version of it and touch, but I never got the same in return.😑

I'm very sensitive to things like scratchy fabric too. There's certain fabrics that I can't even wear because the texture or itchiness is too much!

Imitation is fine in my opinion when you don’t mass produce and sell it. That’s just stealing. And I feel kinda strange watching these types of videos because they sort of promote the dupes in a way. I don’t really like that. But I love mias videos so I still enjoyed it but also want to be aware of the issue if that makes sense😅
I understand wanting a design so much and not being able to afford it, like I would kill to have a piece from Lirika Matoshi, but plagiarism is not ok! As a designer you have no idea how discouraging and harmful it it is for a small brand to see something they work so hard to create that's intended to be high quality and unique being sold way cheaper because is mass produced, with super bad quality and usually done by underpaid workers. So please if you really like a designer's work don't ever buy plagiarize items.
I just made a similar comment, I thought there would be way more. The idea of the "dupe"is way too common and accepted.
