Agreed but some you can wear as a lipstick (like the ink velvets for example) or you can wipe them off for a more muted stain. It all depends on the look you are going for. I have found if you don't immediately wipe them off the stain is more opaque and last a little longer.
You're supposed to wipe them off thats why they are stains not lipsticks
