    I love how she’s holding a dirty makeup covered sweat absorbed used dress and has no qualms over it. Even trying it on. So many other RUclipsrs would be, or at least act, disgusted. Makes her seem so much more down to earth and, like, a normal human!

      I'm pretty sure any woman would not want to wear someone's dirty, sweaty, unknown substance-defiled article of clothing. It's gross and definitely could be dangerous to your health/irritate your skin. It's just not smart. I hope she washed them first before trying them on, at least that wouldn't be as bad.

    Mia in the US you can rent dresses just like you can rent a tux so some of the dresses could be rentals that the company deemed out of fashion and decided to put them in a return palette

    I think a box like this would be so cool for like a high school to buy to help out their kids. Even if the students had to pay for the dresses themselves, $16 is a lot more doable than $50+. Or $400 is reasonable to fundraise. Love that the dresses are different sizes

      Yes!! I totally agree. I think all high schools should do this. For girls and boys. I've got both and whatever they choose to wear to those things, can be so expensive.

      I agree school should have a wardrobe closet on campus for students so if they need to they can be able to buy clothes and other needed things. Not all students have petsnfd able to buy expensive dressed for dance . Some don't have their perants.

      ⁠@@karinaashmon a local organization collects prom dresses around here. They also request shoes, clutches, jewelry, shawls, etc. All have been cleaned.

    Another donation idea could be a drama club or amateur theater for costumes! The dresses with stains still have lots of great material you could cut off for future sewing projects!

    The black one-shoulder with jeweled trim was elegant, and the black 'Renaissance' dress with white underpinning (and stain) both looked timeless if they fit properly. Think Audrey Hepburn for both. ❤️

    This box screams "I pretended to collect dresses for a prom charity and then sold them at auction instead". I am probably wrong but the selection of older dresses just reminds me of too many eras of prom mixed with modern bridesmaids dresses. I don't think these were returned any one central location. And then mia was duped into buying it unbeknownst to the origin.

    Satin, crepe, georgette, taffeta, organza, crepe de chine.....those are the basic fabrics you are seeing in these dresses. I have sewn my whole life and actually managed a fabric store for several years and those are classic "prom" dress fabrics. I think that cute short lavender dress was amazing on you.....great color for you! How fun!

    The pale blue "High Tea" dress is amazing on you and you have to keep it. Don't change it because it is perfect as it is. That goes for the short black sequin and white poof dress as well. It also looks amazing on you, as is. I didn't feel super drawn to you making over any so I would say to makeover the damaged dresses or some of the uh....less appealing ones before donation.

    I think what always impresses me about Mia and what keeps me coming back each and every single video is how she always manages to stay *super* positive about everything - especially hauls where even the items she doesn't like that much she'd give it a good reason why and sometimes even apologize.       Am I the only one that thought she said she liked a few of the strapless dress neckline, then said she didn't like them?. It's OK I still enjoyed the video I never went to prom but I do remember trying on dresses for bridesmade and my own wedding.

    Heads up that metallic / stiff crinkly fabric is Taffeta. Taffeta is amazing for it's capacity to carry sub-tones so the two tone shimmer is very effective!
    That "cheese cloth" was likely a light chiffon or muslin or even a georgette!
    The lavender "organza" is likely a heavier crepe or crepe chiffon.
    Most of the "soft shiny" gowns are made of satin, silk satin and heavier satin!
    That nicely fitting shorter powder blue is likely a dupioni silk or a mix dupioni with some sort of spandex. (that slubby texture gives it away. ;) )

    This reminds me of the stuff my sister and I would see when we would go shopping at Goodwill/Savers. We used to share a fitting room and try on formal dresses for fun. Once we got nice matching bridesmaid dresses in different colors for $8 each and wore them to a Christmas party! I've seen them for $150 at a store in the mall before lol

      This was my absolute favourite - I tend to prefer shorter dresses as they can be dressed up or down and you get more use out of them. Mia - you could try to add straps for comfort and perhaps add some nicer flowers/ pearls.

      Recently (maybe since thrifting became popular) people have commonly referred to 90s 00s as vintage even tho vintage is technically 50+ years ago idk why but it's not old!! 💗

      the term retro seems to be becoming less commonly used and people are referring to things within that range as vintage nowadays, expending the category of vintage items to 20+ years old but less than 100 years old.
      20-40 years: retro
      40-70+ years: vintage
      100+ years: antique
      300+ years: artifact/antiquity

    The "aquamarine dress" was a bridesmaid dress I had for my sister's wedding in 2012 but in purple instead of blue 😄 also used to work at David's bridal and have my suspicions on what dresses were from there 😅

    The purple-blue fabric is called Shot Silk Taffeta (shot being the term for the way it changes in the light) if you want to find more dresses or fabric like it, it was very popular in the nineties and early two thousands

    The iridescent bluey/purple one is the same fabric as my Quinceañera dress that I bought in Summer 2005. And then I wore it to prom in Spring 2010 lol It was a strapless, gathered, corset top with sprinkled crystals and a high waisted skirt that went on underneath. Full length, full gather, very dramatic. I loved that dress.

    24:09 Rehearsal dinner dress! The Renaissance inspired dress (it's the split with the underskirt that reminds you) is my favorite. It does wonderful things to your figure and the colors are very flattering.

    i just love how she focuses so much on the actual content she is making but to me and a lot of others to, she is the content, her reviews upon items, intros and outros, her little jokes in between clips every now and than like honestly i could care less what mia posts as long as she is in the video i’m entertained. she’s just a very bright a positive person that i would love to be around.

    At 27:21, that fabric is stretch taffeta. The floaty, semi-sheer fabrics are most likely chiffon. Organza is a stiffer-textured fabric.

    For the dress(es) with tags still, cut them off before donating! Or at least the price part, if you're donating to any place that will re-sell it. Thrift stores nowadays are charging wild prices for stuff, and if they see that the dress sold for upwards of $100 originally, they're going to overcharge for it.

      Donate to High Schools. We donate our dresses to the local high school and let the girls pick their dresses out. Shoes, purses, jewelry, the whole look.

    Sweety, I’m 57 and you are living in my clothes! Also reminds me of when I was in High School (1983) and I wore my mom’s mini-dress from 1964. The style was back in fashion. I’m glad you’re donating them. It’s hard to find larger sizes.
