You know it's bad when you get taken out from the lead at Dega...before the race even starts
Yup
2020 Coke 600...."Hold my late race shenanigans."
😤😤😤😤
Literally read 33 M.Wallace then I read 14 M.Wallace I was like wait what then rewinded and saw 33 K.Wallace
This race was really bad for them. To have no Hendrick cars finish in the top 35 was crazy.
Darian, don’t forget that the 2013 Quicken Loans 400 was also a race where Hendrick fans like me would love to forget. Juniors engine failure.
Candy Canes crash
JIMMAY’s crash
Gordon’s crash
Then that very race the next year, they all finish in the top 7 with Jimmie winning the race. It’s a few times all Hendrick cars have finished inside the top 10 or 12.
@@allabouthewaves4354 And Jeff won the August race
Isaac McKissick For sure but I’m saying what a year can do.
@@allabouthewaves4354 Jimmie won June 2014, Jeff won August 2014
"Who expects a race at Talladega to go caution free?"
*2001 Talladega 500 would like to know your location
And the 1997 spring race, which Mark Martin won.
Was that the one Bobby Hamilton won
@@christophersterner3651 Yes his last Cup Series win in fact. It was also the first of 2 Cup Series wins for Andy Petree as a owner. The final win for Petree, it was by Joe Nemecheck at Rockingham in the 2001 fall race.
@@b.d.cooper8671 that went caution free for the first 150 or so laps.
@@b.d.cooper8671 he was actually still off cycle, so that caution was especially helpful. Without it, he’d eventually have to pit again and put him back behind a little. He’d still probably get a top 5 (as it finished, only 3 cars finished on the lead lap, and 2 other cars finished one lap down), but the great comeback wouldn’t have been completed. Probably still finishes 3rd on the lead lap, but well behind.
Random note - this is Jamie McMurray’s first race
Yep. The replacement for Sterling Marlin in the silver bullet 40 car. Wonder how he did with such an incredible opportunity.
27th, 1 lap down.
But at the next race at Charlotte we know how that race ended.
Which, funnily enough, is the only Cup race he participated in where he walked away a winless driver in Cup.

I don’t feel as bad for Mark Martin now for taking out Johnson on the pace laps, Johnson’s motor was going to blow anyways
I just feel bad for Mark, period. He finished 30th in the race after losing a lap due to repairs.
Had he not had the issue, he could have finished inside the top 20 in the race and won the title later in the year.
"Hendrick Motorsports would never be this terrible again"

2018 Kansas: Vietnam flashbacks
So true!!!
Could’ve been worse
“Cuts to 2020 Coca Cola 600”
“Denny Hamlin’s car takes a diarrhea dump before the start”
“Johnson’s car fails post race inspection”
Oh wait it did.
The turnaround from this to winning 6/8 restrictor plate races from 2004-2006 is also quite incredible
Interesting as usual!
This race was a race to forget for Hendrick.
Ngl this is probably the best storytelling I’ve seen in a BFM video. Keep it up!
Notes from this race: Martin's team had a steering box issue. It only showed up on an abrupt crank which he did on the pace lap. Since the race went green he never had to clean his tires. After the race on the cool-down lap he jerked the wheel again and the steering locked. It was pure bad luck for them both.
Also, HMS I do believe pinned this to a bad batch of parts as to why they suffered such bad failures if memory serves me right.
Plate engines have always run lean but I believe their issue was valve spring related as none of their cars showed smoke. Amazing to have that many engines go and not get a yellow at all.
Remember when we used to have the possibility of caution free races. Those were good times.
Long green flag runs tend to be boring at anywhere except superspeedways and road courses. The restarts tend to shake up the the field in races where the cars usually go single file on the long run, ie. most intermediates and some shorts
I remember being at this race and man oh man the place went crazy when Jeff Gordon dropped out of the race being a Gordon fan and all it hurt but the 2004 Aaron’s 499 was sweet to see him win till they started throwing beer cans and yelling at you cause you are a Gordon fan lol gotta love Talladega
Has there been another driver like Jimmie that sucked in the lower ranks but dominated the Cup series?
Got an idea for you
The worst Thorsport Performance
Las Vegas 2019
Being a crafton fan I hated that race
But on a completely different note
Yes
spec nascar engines, they cant really do anything about that
Ben Rhodes never had a problem in that race.
I was there and i was disappointed as a thorsport fan
@@tylerpuszczewicz2535 he did finish not that great tho
Once this video got going, I definitely remembered this race! Great recap of the day Hendrick Motorsports had here!
I was there in the stands that day. It was blaring hot, my 10 year old self was miserable that day. Combined with the fact that my driver, Jeff Gordon, lost an engine and the race went caution free, it was a terrible day for me. Even though I'm 27 now and have the Talladega infield on my bucket list.
And ironic thing
Dale jr won who eventually ends up driving for Hendrick
Is it because of the 90 minute collapse in the 600?
More like 10 minute collapse
2:00
“Nice throw!”
*Only people who already saw RawGators new video will understand*
😂😂😂
lol
How about 2005 Sonoma, another no good very bad day for Hendrick. All cars finished outside the top 25 that day.
With Dale Earnhardt Jr winning, Steve Park finishing 6th, and Michael Waltrip finishing 8th, it was a great day for Dale Earnhardt Inc.
The last race ever to go caution free
Seeing Johnson being turned in the pace lapa of the race reminds me of his wreck at the Talladega fall race from 2015. And it reminds me of so much fuckery as well
Great turnaround for Hendrick from 2004-2006, winning 2 500’s and 5/10 restrictor plate races
Hendrick: You didn’t see anything. Right?
HEY! YOU! GET INTO MY CAR!
I actually remember watching this race.
This was the first race I ever went to. MY dad took me when I was 12 years old
RIP Benny Parson, loved those NBC broadcasters
This makes me feel SLIGHTLY better since the 5 minute catastrophe during the Coke 600.
Gotta love the Fenix TX Get Outta My Dreams cover music in the background
HMS: *has a bad race*
Everybody: thats it thats the end for hendrick better start packing your bags
Lol great video
honestly
7:34 “Hendrick Motorsports would never be this terrible again.”
*2017-2018 would like to have a word with you*
At least They still won during those times and still had some speed
I love that you put nascar thunder music in your videos
some say this track is cursed...and this race was a good example of that, as matt yocum said when interviewing chad knaus after that pace lap wreck "its the bermuda triangle of winston cup stock car racing"
Hendrick Fans like myself were tortured after seeing this race and video😂
"Hendrick Motorsports would never be this terrible again"
*Entire 2018 Hendrick season* am I a joke to you?
NASCAR Thunder 2003 vibes
I had no idea this race was caution free
5:02 sounds like Kyle Busch yelling. Specifically like the 2017 Coke 600 "AHHH, AHH DAMN IT."
DJ: wow we got some action going on before we ever get started here.
ah yes 2002 the championship no one wanted. you failed to mention many things in the storyline. Sterling Marlin who consistently had the points lead faded. then had his season ending neck injury from crashes at Richmond and Kansas. many guys still had a legitimate chance to win the title entering talladega. the top 9 were within 201 points with 7 races left. Martin's bizarre mechanical failure. Randy Dorton's new engine gamble backfired and Gordon and Johnson never recovered. BP's golden benny award claimed another victim. after fininshing 2nd this race Stewart took hold. stayed consistent never looked back and claimed his maiden championship.
Really enjoy the old thunder music playing lol
124 laps in without any single yellow in sight
Rick Hendrick : *sweating profusely*
Gordon's engine blew up, followed by other HMS cars and customer teams in the next 70 laps
Hendrick : *OH LAWD THEY BLOWIN OH GOD OH FUCK*
NASCAR THUNDER 2003 MUSIC YES
Even worse than the 2011 Daytona 500 for the Hendrick guys
Mark Martin did finish 10th in the 2011 Daytona 500.
But Johnson won spring Dega race 3 months after that 2011 Daytona 500 with all Hendrick Motorsports cars in top 10.
What crazy is that 02 Ea Sports 500 race was caution free one few times that's ever happened@ a plate track.
New Hampshire was another bad day that stands out. Bowman even had to go to a third car.
rookie of the year that year ryan newman
This makes the Charlotte Race look like a good day for Hendrick Motorsports
Wasn’t this part of the Benny Parson curse? Benny Parson handed out the Benny award each week and if I’m not mistaken he gave it to the Hendricks engine department at this race. I think the next week he smashed the Benny award with a hammer and said he wasn’t giving them out anymore.
The Worst DEI Performance: Fall Talladega 2007

That race was the only time when a team suffered the worst luck.
Gordon has 7 championships, screw the chase.
That race was a nightmare.
Darian I sent you the script man
I saw. I'll keep you posted on when I'll make it!
these cars just sound amazing.
All six drivers ended up with a DNF.
Don't forget 2013 Michigan
Another one of Hendrick's worst races ever
Would like to see a championship season on Terry labonte or a bad season on bill Elliot or Texas Terry🤔
Just as you thought this year’s Coke 600 was bad for Hendrick...
The stupid thing is that Jimmie Johnson retired as a seven time champion, all Chase and Playoff wins. If NASCAR had never created the Chase and replaced it with the Playoffs and kept an aggregate championship, Jeff Gordon would've retired a seven time champion.
Ironic this showed up on my feed today
2007 fall Dega had almost every ECR engine puke
Fans before this video- 2018 hendrick season was a bust
Fans after this video- 2002 ea sports was a bust for hendrick *forgets 2018
The Worst Penske Performance
5:35 You know you are hated by fans in Alabama when you can hear the crowd over the green flag action.
Didn’t Gibbs have an alliance with hendrick from 97’-07’
A drive for 5 would have happened if they didn't chance the chase format
Tried to watch this whole thing but got halfway through the video before it froze and said I have to pay to watch the rest of the video because the race was sponsored by EA
Okay this doesn't count because these were mainly engine failures. Which is completely out of the driver control mechanical failures happen.
You should do this for all the big teams
The worst Penske performance?
@@megabutters9144 2018 Coke Zero 400 comes to mind. All 4 cars taken out in the first two crashes of the race.
love the soundtrack
2:55 "Jeff Gordon has won here a ton of times before" ...uhhh he only won there only twice prior to that race
I think another bad one was at Michigan in either 2012 or 2013, Both Gordon and Dale Jr. I think blew up and Jimmie was leading but ran out of gas racing Biffle for the win?
Thanks for upload that video
As a huge Dale jr and dei fan I was so happy to watch Dale and dei spank Hendrick motorsports that day as they usually did at plate tracks
I really like these videos! 😁
Oh god
Hendrick just doing too much to catch up with a DEI boys and it backfired horribly. Can’t fault them for trying at lease but that Petree/Earnhardt/Childress alliance was just too incredible
How fitting was it that it was called the EA Sports 500?
Yes!! New vid!
Suggestion for the channel Hendrick motorsports Plan crash
What about 2013 at Michigan and at Kansas race in 2014
BFM: “Hendrick Motorsports would never be this terrible again”
Me: Until the start of 2018
Johnson wins 7 and Hendrick goes downhill from there.
This race was an oof
This race would end on fuel mileage.
13 gallon fuel cells led to this being caution free.
Who's that lady coming down the road?
(Who's that lady)
Whos that woman walking through my door?
(What's the score)
Now I want to play tunder 2003
Ah the good ol days when DEI reigned supreme...and hendrick motorsports weren't worth a lick at the superspeedways... unless you were Brian Vickers and just sideswipe your own teammate to win it all...ha!
If I remember, it was Jeff Gordon who broke the DEI streak.
You skipped over a lot of Hendrick wins mentioning Vickers. Gordon won the Pepsi 400 in 04. Hendrick won back to back Daytona 500s in 05 and 06 and 3 straight Aaron’s 499 from 04-06.
@@allabouthewaves4354 Jeff Gordon swept Dega in 07
If only the wicked witch of the south didn’t ruin DEI 😢
Worst hendrick moments: 2002 talladega, 2012 martinsville, 2020 Charlotte
2013 Michigan
Martinsville was not their fault and I think Jr still had a top 10
2018 Daytona 500
The last race the was caution free
Only reason drive for 5 never happened was because of the stupid Chase... he should have had 7 when all was said and done.
Frisky Nixon already did a video about this.
