@back2basicsadventures Hey guys, any chance you would know how we can get our hands on one of those boat hammocks.. Love ya vids keep up the good work!!
The new boat is so much fun. GUYS! I went out on a boat with my buddy for first time in my coastal area and found out I can almost pull off having fun on the weekends taking boats to the islands. It's been years in the making but this weekend finally showed me I can live the life I watch and enjoy so much here with my family and friends. My life changed in a weekend. If I had never discovered YBS and B2B I would be completely oblivious to this amazing life. Thank you to Strick and Fran you guys have inspired me.
I DREAM of the life you guys are living! I can't even express how happy I am for you both , thank you for taking us all on your amazing adventures!! 🤘😎🤘
New to your channel. I live in the mid-west USA. Your videos are amazing, but I can only imagine what it must look and feel like in person. At 72 I don’t think I will ever see it’s in person. That makes your video so much more amazing. Thank you! God Bless!
I'm really loving the new boat!! Having a home base that floats is going to make exploring some unreachable places before, possible now, given that you have shelter and food storage on the boat. What an epic place you two are visiting! Crays, Coral Trout, Snapper, Tuna, Parrotfish, Cod,....15ft ( + or - ) Tiger Shark!!! You know, just the usual outing for our Intrepid Explorers!! Tune in again next week when Jack points out something of interest and Fran spears a fish for dinner. Just poking some fun, I love the places you take us to see, the landscapes, the seascapes and the critters that reside in each world. I think if I had my way there would be a Back 2 Basics channel on Prime, or Netflix or something like that, not that there is anything wrong with RUclips but I think the pay involved might be a bit better.
Do you work at Genesis? Your comment sounds like someone who is on the board of the company. So you've come and checked out the channel to see the "influencers" the boat has gone to. "influencers", that word has some fucked up connotations, just look at so called influencers, a more loathsome character you'd be hard up to find
Thank you for a wonderful video. One of the best ever on so many levels. Of course Fran was the highlight of it all as she continues to lose her shyness of the camera. The camera in fact absolutely loves her. She has the warmest personality and it is beginning to show through in spades. You have to believe in a higher power who could create such a gorgeous creature.
So glad you got this new boat. Means more awesome videos to come! And I am so thrilled that Fran seems soooooo happy. Hopefully it’s because she realizes we love her. We love you too so don’t get jealous lol. Thank you for the videos. Stay safe.
As much as I love to see you guys roughing it, I also love to see you living in luxury w this new boat compared to before 😂😂! You guys being so humble and still only getting the basics of what you need makes this reward more enjoyable to see you take advantage of! You two truly are deserving !
Hi Fran, In the Southern Waters; if you see that Jack/Strick has speared a fish when he surfaces, can you PLEASE start the motors and get him safely into the boat immediately. There are huge sharks in those colder waters. I am also glad that Jack held the fish out of the water while he swam back to the boat, to keep those distress signals out of the water.
Yet another world class episode and video. Every aspect of the episode is extremely well done, and extremely entertaining. With the amount of crays available, I think I would find myself wanting to settle down here for a long time! You guys eat so well, as a result of your fishing and diving efforts! Peace, smooth sailing, and lots more smiles, hugs, and laughter for you both!
Bloody hell. Fran caught a Snapper. We fish pretty hard down in vic for snapper all season and Fran just out PBed most of our state with her first fish. Yeeeeewwww Love the channel and love you two. You are amazing humans on a very humble trip through life. All our love.
A little trick, take one of the antenna and reverse it through the poop shoot, with the spikes going opposite way twist and it comes right out, no digging needed...best way to clean lobster 🦞
Love this we used to live up north and take our boat out there ... we are originally from the east coast and the fishing and crays are so different. I am now a huge mackerel fan catching and eating. Coral trout is now my favourite fish to eat. I've never seen as many sharks as I did out of karratha/dampier and the islands. I love the genesis boats yours is a beauty ... enjoy all new adventures in it ❤
Amazing watching you guys move from completely roughing it and extreme danger to a sustainable lifestyle for the future. Thank you for what you do. I have been seriously worried about yalls safety numerous times.
Thats a well fed shark, definitely a beautiful animal. It seemed to be very cautious and just seeing what the smell was. Crazy how Jack had that premonition about it before it appeared. I guess that area is soo dense with Marine life the sharks have taken notice of it as well. Great episode!
As a PADI divemaster, and having dove all over the world, I too have encountered tiger sharks. And they are the only ones that make me nervous and fearful. I'm very aware of their agression and large numbers of attacks on people. The last tiger shark I saw was in Hawaii, and it was about the same size. Biggest one I've ever seen.
Once again , congratulations on the new boat and yes I agree , I would not want to see a tiger shark of that size in the previous boat . I'm glad you found an area where the "picken's " were so plentiful where food was concerned . As shallow as you were running it definitely was an area to keep your head on a swivel but beautiful just the same . good luck in finding what you seek . Thanks for sharing .
I am so happy that you have your new boat!!! It is so wonderful to see all that you are able to do with it! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us!! God Bless!!!
I have never seen so many crays in one hole. Awesome encounter with a giant tiger shark, looks like you guys are loving the new boat. great work guys, keep it coming.
The videos you guys put out are just what I need. I am so impressed by the quality of the environment. I have been consumed by how badly the environment has been portrayed in the media (climate change) that it is nice to see healthy images of the world we live in. Thanks

Hi Strick and Fran, thank you so much for showing such clear video clips of those absolutely beautiful coloured reefs you are diving on for that extra protein. The cold water sea weeds that grow in the roughest reefs that are highly oxygenated during rough weather have the most brilliant coloured weeds I have the privilege to experience during my prime years on SCUBA in South Australian Waters. The shear number's of cray fish you are showing your audience, I had the privilege to admire first hand mostly by my self alone miles off the coast. I was very fit in those days. Thank you for bringing back those much cherished memories. Please don't feed those large sharks. Look out for each other under water. I am very happy to see both of you with a sea worth boat at last.

we want to see Fran cooking another ceviche!!! We enjoy since she's cooking, saying the recipe, until viewing both of you while eating. You're a nice couple... 😍😍😍

Most guys , dream of having a girlfriend that loves camping , fishing , boating , in general , out door life . Well dear sir , you have hit the JACK POT with Fran . She ticks all the boxes & Fran is funny . " I did not scream , I let out a little squeal " 🤣🤣. Not going to talk about that shark , WOW . Look forward to the next episode .. Great boat ..
