    Hey Jamie, thanks for this really informative video review. It helped me make up my mind. I bought a q7 max on sale today as it was about $400 (Australian) cheaper than the S7. I'm a stickler for vaccum power, and your review on the Q7 max suction power really impressed me with how well the machine picked up all the crap on the floor. I'm upgrading from an ecovac 920, as long as it's better, I'll be pretty happy.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  2 года назад +3

      You will be happy with it at that price point. It is a great value and the suction power is impressive. I am glad I could help you choose. Keep me posted on how you like it.

    • @jmubaraki
      @jmubaraki 2 года назад +4

      I've had the Q7 max for a week and I'm very happy with it. Compared to Ecovacs 920 (which two years ago cost the same as my Q7 max) it has much better path finding and battery life. Reviews are complaining about the size of the q7's dual dustbin, but I find it holds way more than my old ecovacs 920. I'm love that the Q7 max has a button you can just press on the robot to get it to start vacuuming. I don't need to load up the app to get it going. The only negative, compared to the 920 atleast, is that the Q7 max has one single rotating side brush, compared to the 920's two side brushes. So while the Q7 has 4 times the suction power, it seems to very occasionally miss small debris, which I can only assume is missed because it has one less rotating brush compared to my old two brush ecovacs. Having said that, the build quality of the Q7 rotating rubber brush is a lot better than my old 920, whose brushes and rollers I had to replace after a year.

    Thanks for the review :) I have question regarding mopping and carpets. If I set carpets as no-mop zone and remove the mopping pad after cleaning, can I easily&quickly send the robot to vacuum only the carpets?

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  Год назад +1

      If they are rugs you would have to do a zone cleaning in vaccum only mode. If it is a room you could send it out in vaccum only mode as well and just select a room cleaning.

  • @seem111
    @seem111 8 месяцев назад

    Hi, you mentioned you can set up no mopping zones. What does this achieve since the mop doesn't lift?

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  7 месяцев назад

      No mopping zones means that it won't go in the area you set when it has a mopping pad attached. If you remove the mopping plate with pad it will cross over the no mopping zone to perform a vacuum operation.

    The argument for the S7 does make sense... The mop is "better" and doesn't need to be removed.
    These are both on the "Tanos" platform..with minor hardware changes internally. Q7 being a Rebranded T8. S7 being a Global version of T7S. AKA T7 version 2.. :)
    The main difference here is going to be the Motor, dust bin and overall tolerances of the machines. I doubt many people will find a difference between the 2500PA motor and the 4200PA one.
    Comes down to "Sale" price. ;))

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  Год назад

      Agreed and plus I find the ability to be a good vacuum had less to do with the power rating of the vacuum and more to do with the brush roller and how close it can come to the floor.

    Hi, do you know what's the difference between Q7 Max+ vs S7+ ?

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  2 года назад +6

      The S7 has the VibraRise mopping system which is the biggest difference by far. The S7 also has a dedicated carpet sensor and 2 additional cliff sensors.
      The dock on the S7 can be bag or baggless and also has extra filtration.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  Год назад

      Those are 2 very different machines and don't directly compete. If price is not a factor the L10s has a ton more features and has a great mopping system with obstacle avoidance. It comes down to your needs and budget.

    Hello, thank you for this review! The dust bag in the Q7 Max+ is it reusable? Can it just be emptied and reused or would I need to buy extra bags? (that would be a drawback if they are not readily available or easy to find in the market). Thank you.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  11 месяцев назад +1

      I would not advise to reuse them unless you are in a pinch. There are a few reason for this.
      1. The bag is the filter so the more the bag is used the more the bag clogs uo putting strain on your vacuum motor plus it will lessen the auto empty effectiveness.
      2. It is not easy and very messy trying to empty the bags out through a small hole.

    Hi, this combined dustbin/watertank seems like a bad idea, it means it’s impossible to let the water tank to dry for a few days while using the vacuum, which is possible with other models.
    I’m not a fan of water remaining in a sealed compartment… seen multiple posts on Reddit of people having some sort of mold in their tanks, or the plastic turned yellow, etc. Have you seen things like that?
    That’s why I always let the tank of my S5 Max to dry, I was considering switching to this Q7 mainly for the auto empty, but this is a drawback, maybe I’ll consider the S7 instead.

    Hi Jamie, how are you? I would like to ask you a question. I bought a roborock q7 max, and I noticed that when I use the vacuum and mop function together, with the option to clean 2x, when it finishes, I notice that the floor is full of dust and feather residue. Using turbo power, and even then it still gets dirt behind. Did you notice something similar with yours? Because he has 4200Pa, I found that very strange. Could you please give me some feedback. Thanks in advance for your reply. I'm always following your videos. I miss seeing new vacuum robot videos.
