This is a really good book. Black Panther is a goldmine of mythology.
IT WAS TRASH, THEY DESTROYED BP. HE'S A CHUMP NOW AND WAKANDA IS A PUSH OVER JOKE.
Hands down the best Marvel Comic series. Black Panther is the hero we need.
Isaiah Mullins bit not the hero we deserve
Because he`s black right? Joke
c'mon dude, it's a Dark Knight thing
I know but I couldn`t help it.
Isaiah Mullins how about just a friggin black super hero spotlight. racists will say oh Luke cage blah. I'm talking real hero's. not metal skin. a black Thor type dude.
Great job Rob I cant wait for the next one!
These videos always capture these great aspects of comics that not everyone sees and puts it in this simple and entertaining light, love it.
This has been a very well written arc, especially the stories Shuri hears about powerful men and woman throughout Wakandas history. The Midnight Angels are a really nice addition to Black Panther as well as new African themed villans. I really hope going forward other writers try and keep T'challa in Africa and continue to build on his already rich history.
More Black Panther! Wakanda has always been a mystery and this gives us an in, to learn more about it and it's mythology along with the bad assery of T'Challa himself
Hands down the best channel on RobTube!
Been waiting for you to do a video on this. It's the thing marvel has going on right now.
That was awesome...Seems like a very well written and intelligent comic.
Almost a million Rob! rooting for you!
Thankyou Rob for doing this video. i love this series and for me it is better than Priests run on Black Panther. Would love to see this kind of story for the Black Panther movie and i really hope you're going to do more Black Panther stories.
Shawn Zamir FFXV the priest run on black panther was legendary
Big durk it is legendary....but it's literally the only Black Panther run beside Anad and this new run so far is better imo.
Priest's run isn't the only other run lol, it's not even the first (or second) volume of Black Panther.
Shawn Zamir FFXV I disagree priests run was so much better
Big durk Ultinuc I meant to say it's the only ones I've read aside from one really old issue of Jungle Action.
Now I'm definitely interested in this story.
back panther has been fantastic
Great video, as always. More black panther, please
I just realized how little I know about him.... I need to read this new arc
Coates is doing big things by expanding on the lore of a country.
Love this story!!
More black panther plzzzz!
great story and comic rob..how about a story on iasiah bradley the truth!
damn, Black Panther is bad ass
thanks for doing this
I hope you will do a Vol 2 soon Rob
please more black panther
Isn't Coates the same writer for the Atlantic magazine
Tyson Phillips yes
Man I had no idea he wrote for comics. I live his writing over there. I may not always agree with him but he always gets me to think in new ways and I absolutely love Shay I'm hearing in this story so far
Tyson Phillips this is his first time
Hey Rob how about doing xo manowar and other valiant heros.
Big durk he did them already. Go back in his video history you will find them way back there.
Zaid Al-Khaled if he did it was long ago there were many more cool valiant stories that happened since then.
More black panther
All of the black panther
The Black Panther movie is going to be so epic. I would say it's going to be like the latest Tarzan movie mixed with Civil War type vibes. I can't wait to see Wakanda in all its full glory. I just hope they put an emphasis on the spiritual and mysticism of the culture.
Justin Farrar let's hope
Honestly that emphasis sounds a little too deep for the current MCU formula, sadly.
pious83 yeah marvel is doing cookies cutter movies they all fit a cretin formula except ant man.
I'm only this early for Black Panther 😎
Been waitin on Rob to talk about this one like income tax season.
As a Black Panther fan, this is probably his worst run IMO. After 8 years of deconstruction and he's still in this deconstructive bullshit story
The writing and in the art in particular are really good but other than that, it's absolutely appaling
sulti1274 explain
sulti1274 Agreed
buying a book call black panther only to see him as a side character wasn't what I sign up for.
lordmemnochthedevil how is he a chump? I think this book has gone a long way to humanizing BP
BLAQ JOKER It isn't for everyone, hype beasts and speedsters won't feel it, it's for the Black Panther fans that want to see every aspect of him nurtured.
RJ Foyles nurtured? You mean neutered more like.
xavier wooten It's not humanizing; it's feminizing. "smdh"
RJ Foyles That's bullshit, he should of been nurtured as a young boy; he is grown now.😒
a black king can never get a break Lol. the story sounds awesome
*to T'challa in Mufasa voice* Remember, who you are... ~_~
I'm not really a fan... Christopher Priest is the definitive BP run
yes black panther
Black Panther and Storm still should be married!
Fred Hall Direct Edition no
Fred Hall Direct Edition no. he didn't help her when she needed him and was against the mutants . so no.
They could have wrote the whole story of their marriage to last like Susan Storm and Mr Fantastic but no. Storm and Black Panther didn't even make it that long. SO YES!
Fred Hall Direct Edition again no the whole marriage was a publicity stunt by reginald hudlin it didn't feel organic nor was it well written.
If they wrote them better together it'd be nice. I like the IDEA of the couple, but the relationship itself was eh.. They even changed Storm's origin,She saved T'Challa as a kid,T'Challa in turn promised to marry her. Then later they changed it too BP saving her as a damsel in distress type deal. Then they had their stupid break up because Marvel can't stop with the Avengers and X-men feuding.
I'm sad to say,This series has honestly started to bore me. The only Marvel comics I'm subscribed to are Black Panther & The Ultimates, and they've both lost steam to me.
Happy to see Shuri back though, despite this non-sense.
I read some of Priest's run of Black Panther and really liked it, but haven't really been liking Coates'.
I am so torn ... I agree with wakanda but feel for T'chala ...
I'd like a video explaining what people (people as in the main marvel universe) remember before Secret Wars. I assumed after wars a new universe was created and people largely forgot the events that took place leading up to and during secret wars. It's a little confusing.
Nuri Durr that’s what I’m thinking. Like when the fantastic four and molecule man recreated the universe, they had to rewrite how everything happened. It’s likely that a select few might have found a way to be allowed to remember
can you please cover war of Kings and I didn't really understand this story when I read it thx for covering this story
The best BP story ever told????What a load of rubbish!
Anyone who knows or read black panther prior to Coates can't possibly give Coates' work on the character a thumbs up. This run is absolutely garbage.
Coates is a horrendous scribe on this book. I gave this a chance but Coates just totally craps on the character and the mythology. T'Challa isn't even in the top 5 interesting characters of his own book. He's been depicted as reluctant, incompetent, underpowered and just utterly useless. He diesn't even think he's fit to be king!!! Meanwhile, there this more than enough evidence that invairably supports the contrary.
Coats' book is all about his personal forced female-driven agendas and false narratives to compromise the character and his history; and to gratify Coates' lack of care and understanding of the medium nevermind the character he's writing about.
The book is painfully slow, poorly paced, breath-takingly lacking in action and although on the whole doing well financially, however, this is a huge shame because if the character and mythology were better and accurately represented it would have been super and truly great given the proliferating popularity of the character but Coates perpetuating this false narrative to the masses is ultimately damaging serving only his limited grasp on fictional creativity and pretentious feminist politics.
Coates invents and plays up black disfunction between Wakandan men and women, idiotically sets up rape camps that goes ignored by T'Challa, our "hero" is reduced to a depressed and useless king who works with despots, struggles with Z-list villains and the kingdom is now on its way to becoming a republic! The whole thing is poorly executed bullcrap and I can't stress enough in recommending that this book not be bought.
I'd rather have no black panther book than to have this deconstructive bull crap perpetuate a gross misrepresentation of the character and the mythology....and don't get me started on Roxanne "most men are evil" Gay and her crappy world of Wakanda.
Thank God Cole and Coogler know wtf they're doing and understand the mythology and also thank God for Feige because there's no way he'd allow the abomination that Coates is producing to permeate into the MCU.
I agree, well said.
black pantah Would you still think you're fit to be king? Everything they said is true. Coates builds on the mythology that isn't that explored
Bryan Carter of course he's fit to be king. His predecessors didn't have to deal with the sort of threats he's had to deal with and the measure of a king is how he handles insurmountable odds and that even means taking some losses. T'Challa has never been neglectful of Wakanda and Coates hasn't explored anything that previous writers havn't done before. The only difference is, Ta-Negro Coates refuses to employ a modicum of imagination that doesn't contradict his western stereotypical views on proliferating black disfunction on a character and world that doesn't make sense to him and he neither likes. His false narrative that he's perpetuated only serves his agenda to tell scenarios that make no sense, has no place and continues the degradation of black character representation within the media. In less than a year sales of this run have gone from 300K to 30K and the sponoffs have been canceled, gee, I wonder why that is? Coates garbage is something people clearly aren't interested in and seems to be only appreciated highly by those who aren't fans of the character.
black pantah Coates is black himself. He wanted to write Black Panther. The reason the one of the spin offs got cancelled was because nobody cares about Wakanda that much, The Crew was selling good enough to continue. The reason it sold 300k is because of Civil War. After the hype of the died down, so did the sales of the book. it's like the #1 effect. And T'Challa neglecting Wakanda is questionable. This series made me care about Wakanda and its people. I like the story of a king Who nobody trusts anymore and things are falling apart. It's a good story and things have gotten better for T'Challa, Coates builds on the mythology of Wakanda in a great way. Everything will be fine by the time the Film rolls around. Coates must be doing something right if he got two spin offs, his book hasn't been cancelled and Marvel pretty much let him tell his story. I hear more good things about this run than bad. And if they weren't fans of the character why are they reading the book? That's like me saying "I can't stand Miguel O'Hara but I always read his book." that doesn't make sense
priest is doing good writing in the new Deathstroke series you should cover that.:)
love the vid keep em up!!
I'm happy they finally addressed Black Panther being the King of a country and constantly leaving to travel around like that's cool to do as a leader. At least Aquaman stays in Atlantis.
I am so happy about this, do more blank panther videos!
Rob, that black panther story was awesome. give us more please.
YES!!!!! More Black Panther please!!!!
I will find a way to donate money to you if you can do a single episode like this without once saying 'basically', 'essentially', or 'effectively'. They're unnecessary every single time.
This would be a sick cartoon for grown ups
Marvel has a Black Panther animated series,

Big durk It's really good...it shows alot. Shows the formation of the new team. The relationship between Batman and Red Hood today. Red Hood infiltration of Black Mask organization.
Alot good writing and the art is probably one of the best from Rebirth. I highly recommend.

i have actually been following this story
Uploaded 3 minutes ago. Comments ain't even in the double digits. You're Welcome, Rob
Black Panther's new book has me excited for more. I'm starting to read it and so far it's very good. Cudos to my second favorite superhero of all times Black Panther.
What a great tale. Please keep following this story line.
I'm liking this comic--BP has been my favorite super human since I was a kid. But reading this book--I feel like screaming WHY DOESN'T T'CHALLA JUST TELL THESE PEOPLE ABOUT THE INCURSIONS?!!! It wasn't like T'challa was on vacation. Wouldn't that solve this whole problem? Also--is BP still king of the dead? Are we ever going to find out what power boost Bast gave him? I hope they don't depower BP like so many writers in the past seemed to love doing in the past. BP must be FORMIDABLE to become popular.
This was awesome! PLEASE do a series on Black Panther. He needs more exposure (and thankfully will get more thanks to the MCU).
Also...please include your music..
Hrms. As a historian, especially in Asia, I find the whole WWII comment completely over fantasized and abbreviated. The Japanese population were overwhelmingly uninformed due to the split between the navy, army, and bureaucracy. Even after state induced emperor worship from the Meiji era, accessible literacy was mainly given to men via mandatory conscription. Civilian participation is the outcome of borrowed Confucius concepts, which, was appropriated during the war effort. To reduce the narrative of the Japanese population as blindly dying for ideological causes is... kinda bad story telling. Where is the meat with these potatoes? I love jabs, but wow... way to overgeneralize.
LOVE THIS, definitely picking it up Rob! Thanks for the vid, MORE!!!
Examples: I've heard it mentioned several times that Black Panther is incredibly smart. I've seen countless examples on Richards, Dr. Strange, Starks, and Xavier...Can you please give examples that indicate and prove Black Panthers intelligence...?
I disagree with the narrator's claim that during the Black Panther's 50 years of existence that there have only been "glimpses" of Wakanda. The original Black Panther series from the early 70's, was based in Wakanda. The characters, Kilmonger, Venomm, Malice and W'akbi were created during this period. And it isn't the first time an enemy has tried to overthrow T'challa - the storyline during the that era was Killmonger trying to overthrow t'challa and become King of Wakanda. The same series introduced the Vibranium Mound, the mines where Vibranium is mined. The series was written by Don Mcgregor
More? More please?
If you mangle the african words...it's ok. cuz you mangle everything else too.
Anyone who is interested in Black panther, should definitely Read Priests run. It really shows big of a deal black panther is to the MARVEL Universe.
Can you PLEASE do Deadpool secret secret wars? it explains the origin of The venom Symbiote
More DeadPool!
